Anyway....its great to get in touch again with all our yearmates.
So far...Peng Aun,Wai Yip,Toh Wayne,Tai Cheing (Not sure if you all recall him or not and vice versa) and a mystery fella who does not want to be identified has signed up.

So Tim...who do you have in your contact lists of our yearmates you keep in touch with? In fact...who do all of you keep in touch with?

Met T. Ling in sitiawan first day of CNY. OPA makan. He's OK.

Met up with T.T. Cheang earlier this week. He is working for DHL in Penang. Came down for some training. He is also OK. But the two of us probably would not recognise each other if we bumped into each other in the street. muahahaha.

Jason, the last time I saw Nguk Har at her workplace is at CentrePoint Guardian, the one at the basement (around 2 years ago). Dunno whether she is still there... Last time I heard (around 2 years ago also), Daniel Ong was working in the marine industry repairing/maintaining ships after he left poly. Good money but tough and dirty job, he was telling me... I think he stays in Jurong West.

Hi Susan. I, of course, remember you. In fact your dad kindly fetched me home during my primary school days. Please send my regards to him.

To the best of my knowledge, I don't think Hu Shan & Teik Kok have kids yet. They are doing very well in London. We were supposed to be share a holiday apartment in Lake Como (near Milan) last summer but they could not make it due to an unexpected work commitment.

I am in US now. Let see, Eve is in Calgary with her own business. No kids yet as of a few months ago. Paul is not married yet and the rest of the family is up in Ottawa. But now my ball is smaller than your shuttle! :laugh: I golf about 3 times a month only on the golf course, due to work schedule. Other times I just go to the driving range.
As for flying we fly 5 times a week & get 2 days off. We still have to fly during public holidays. :( Our duty time can be as short as 5 hours or as long as 13 hours. It depends on where we are flying to.

I'm in Seattle. Nope, have not heard from Ming Hui for a looooong time. I called him once when i first got to the States but never heard from him after that. So what are you doing in Toronto nowadays? Married with kids i suppose.

I did my engineering degree at U of Waterloo (Canada); grew up (went to high school) in Ottawa and now am working
at an R & D branch of a US company here in Toronto. We became their Canadian branch after they acquired our small startup company. As a result, our (R & D) office is still in downtown Toronto, which is quite nice and convenient! I manage a team of VLSI (IC)/Chip engineers designing/working. At the moment I have a team of engineers in India (yes, it is outsourcing - which started about 2 years ago) - which is why I got to go back to M'sia the last time (detour off my business trip).

Do you know if MH is still in the US?

NKC, hmmm....lets see.....famous for his "Whooo-Hoooo"......badminton and girl magnet. Had a argument with Daniel Ong during form 1 and they both never talk until sports day, both become friends back after that.

Well, KC, I saw you during your little stint in KL (Shah Alam) - remember, we went out to the mamak places with a bunch of others? At that time there was also the "Kancil Showroom" house - shared house, full of kancils (4 of them?)..

I even saw you back in S'wan at that time (went to your parents' house). That was in 1997/8. I just visited Auzzieland in 2003 I think (but the east coast) - Melbourne.
Might go back again to go diving or something at the GBR if I can.

As pour moi, there is nothing too exciting to report - still working for the same company (been with Analog for 8 yrs now). Work brings me all over the place. These days, to India a lot - living a "free", fast-paced, single life in downtown Toronto. Try to travel to places that I have never been before.... enjoying new experiences. Snowboarding these days - it is quite fun! Like scuba diving, it is an expensive hobby!

Since I am here already, I might as well write some more and do more reminiscing...

I distinctively remember that in Form 1, during the cross country points qualifying run, where if any member of each of the "rumahs" made it to the finish line under a certain time, he would earn some points for the team, (to Sri Manjong and back to ACS - actually to that church across the street), that NKC thought he was going to win hands down... but then towards the end of the race on that little road into Kampung Cina, came Tan TC, sprinting along... that definitely came as a surprise to KC and got him going. Do you guys remember that at all? That was my last memory of Tan TC (btw, the pic is also recognizable - but just a lot darker than before... )

Another one.... this was in Form 2, when a bunch of us including KC went out far far into the jungles of Lekir to try to catch some M'sian fighting fish as opposed to the larger Siamese fighting fish.... The little things were quite puny - but I don't really now know why we would want them, but anyways.... kids... well, so off we went for a LONG time (since it was a LONG way away to bike on bicycles that have no gears)... Off we went and had a great time catching these little suckers in swamping areas of the palm and rubber estates.

When we got back at KC's house - Mrs Nga asked us where we went and none of us would divulge.. then we thought we outsmarted her on that one.. the next thing that we got was that on the following Monday (school day), we had "oral presentation" in English class just ... out of the blue... guess, who were all chosen one by one to tell the stories... well, you guessed it... we were asked to tell the story of the weekend - what people did, etc, etc.. all in English of course, after all it was English class. Boy, did she ever get us GOOD! :)

Unfortunately, I think most of the "jungling crew" is not on this forum (yet)...

Yih yi, that was fantastic story telling and I truly admire your great memory. I really enjoy reading your stories. The only trouble I can't remember most of what you shared..... except the fighting fish ones....yeh the local ones are quite an embarrasment. Infact this trip back I bought two for $1 each. I am quite impressed the price hasn't gone up after all these years. Anyway it was all for fun and help bring back some good memories. I remember in form 1 there were so many of us getting crazy over fighting fish that we even brought the fish to school. I think it was Jason Cheng.

Way to go the H's...... I was in H class from std 1 to 6.....hope that made a difference. I think the main reason was because Eng Tiong was in H's also.

Yup, in Seattle but i am unable to host as i am only renting a room. Saving money incase get deported back to Msia. I am on a work permit here btw. But if you are here, we can sure meet up for dinner or an outing or something along those lines. I don't travel much, but i do go to Vegas, California and Florida sometimes. All depends on my mood.

I tell you man, this is no easy task. It took me at least two weeks to get a visa. And when I arrived at Chicago airport, I was stopped for further questionings. Before I leave, I need to report to the immigration to get a stamp on my passport to show that I am leaving. Wow...all this because I have a Malaysian passport. My British colleague just walked through.

I've been in the UK since I graduated in 1999. Went AWOL from the gomen service.

I don't travel to the US much-lah, usually only once a year, for presenting my research findings at the American Vascular Society international meetings.

I work as an IT engineer and sometimes travel overseas for job assignments but it's to places like Bangladesh and Pakistan.. haha. good thing I was there before the earthquakes or riots.

Yeah, that's what I mean.. ie. any medicine student has to serve gov after going through the course in uni because I reckon that course is subsidised by the government since it can be expensive ??
