I've been fiddling about with Illustrator and I came up with this, with reference to this thread post (http://www.acs-sitiawan.com/forum/showthread.php?p=726#post726).

I'll be submitting some more suggestions, and I believe Ray will as well. Anyone else is welcome to submit or give comments.

Edwin, just choose which one you prefer, or if you have an idea how you like the logo to look like just tell us and we'll try to accomodate.

Maybe asking too much but how about an animated spinning 360 degrees ACS logo...now that would be waaay cool!!!

Hisham..... that's awesome man.... 2 comments:

1. Me thinks the yellow's a little too bright
2. I think a more 'ancient' or 'classic' font would be better

But again, it's not for me to decide. I suggest that once all the options are available, we'll put it to a vote.

haha.. i'm not hiding from my gf la... if she was around also i won't complain la... but then she go hong kong then i merdeka la. anything not work realted is OK with me!!

Hisham, how much for delivery service from sitiawan to kl? i wanna order 2 batang lemang (ha ha.. i don't think lemang is refered to as Batang, but anyway u know what i mean) and also 1 put of rendang ayam!!!! deliver within 4 hours, if not then FREE!!! heheheh

Nice design, but i think it would be nicer to retain the badge's original colour.

Oooooow......now that i like. Maybe you can make the ACS logo appear more visible and make it look like its framed in a glassball....not sure if you know what i mean, but its like the logo of Jeng Choong's Apple's avatar.

i know what you mean when you say the glass ball effect. but that one quite hard to achieve as i would have to black-out completely the entire ACS logo. the problem with our logo is the details in the centre are quite hard to make out. anyway i will try. now holidays damn free,, heh heh

Hey Ray,
Don't sweat it. I know its difficult but never know the expertise round here these days. Maybe do the glassball effect first then put the logo over it? Anwyay, what are you doing now? I mean in school,working or other things??

i think the logo should be based on the original logo colors - i.e. yellow and blue...

i believe linkinfark agrees with me - see his post in this thread...

Just playing around with photoshop. I think the color should be darker to reflect the glasslook but hey, its late and sleepy, so give your comments.

All designs have their merit. being that this is not an official alumni site, i think we should avoid having or incorporating the school logo proper within the forum logo. having said that, we want to avoid a situation where the forum logo gives the impression of a bastardised version (over-design or makeover whether in shape, shade or effect) of the school logo.

my suggestion would be to maintain the shape and shade of the school logo but without the words and pix within. and also to add the word 'Unofficial' above the word 'ACS Sitiawan' in the present logo. in the event this site were to be recognised by the alumni someday (who knows), the forum logo can easily be converted to the official school logo with minimal effect on the 'brand' associated with this forum through its logo.
