View Full Version : Free website template
I am looking for free website template and I know that the web is full of them. However, almost every site has terms & conditions to include a link in the built site. Some even require a link in all pages . Most templates offered free looks like sheet. Anyone know where I can find nice nice template for free :p?

What sort of website are you looking at doing? Straight-up HTML, or something dynamic using PHP or XML, with a database?

Straight-up HTML is all I'm good at.. the rest is just too sophisticated for me.. :p I cracked my head on CSS for 2 days and still not have a clue... :o

If you can, learn about CSS, which makes things smoother for your website. Try this (http://www.w3.org/Style/Examples/011/firstcss.en.html) site. Hopefully you wont need those free templates. Good luck. :)

Thanks Hisham.
Anyone else knows where I can take the easy way out?? :D

Dreamweaver isn't that difficult to figure out. I recommend you just playing with it for a couple of hours a day, and by the end of the week (or less), you'll be able to create a local website on your computer, ready for upload. What it does is allow you to compose a page as easy as you writing a Word document, and Dreamweaver will automatically create the HTML code for it.
However, since Dreamweaver is just a program with no real intelligence, you will have it create a lot of dead weight on your page, such as using a lot of unneccessary coding where all that's needed is one. So your page will be larger than a page that's planned right and HTML-coded manually.

By all means, use Dreamweaver. I have only used Dreamweaver and Frontpage, and I prefer Dreamweaver. For beginners, I find it it quite useful.

i prefer frontpage... basically, i'm a microsoft guy all the way... for everything...
lilian, if you do wish to create you own homepage, give me a shout, i'll help you out with it - FOC (it's my hobby). you only have to dish out $6.95 usd for the domain name (e.g. www.lilian-lau.com (http://www.lilian-lau.com)) and about RM 100 for a year's worth of hosting.

that's because i've chosen the option not to receive emails through the forum script - it's an option all members can set in their control panel...
