I just watched Astroboy. I feel like a kid now. :cheesy:

Frankly speaking, watching cartoons once a while makes me feel young. Btw, I love Tom & Jerry.

i asked my 15 year old classmate (don ask) is a certain lady is old (she's 28), and he said yes. so if 28 is old...then 30 is positively ancient! OMG!!! i am the Ancient (http://www.gateworld.net/wiki/Ancients)!!!

i think i am old but all my friends think i am not
they range from 19 - 86
all the friends i go out with are twenty-something
i blend in ok
the forty-somethings don't go out much here :D
my close friends here are
- classmates: guy 24 (single), girl 24 (+bf)
- workmates: girl 26 (+bf), girl 40 (single)
- social friends: girl 40 (+bf), lady 45 (married with grown-up daughter)
all no kids except the last one. these are the ppl i go out makan-makan and jalan-jalan with.

i know a bunch of couples my age with families in my area. they never go out, only have pot-luck dinners at home. no interest in art gallery, sports, exhibitions, free films and concerts, markets and festivals, etc. always make excuses abt "tau-tia" lah, tired lah, kids got tuitions la, etc. a bit boring.

i don't think it can be quantified by exact time. it's a perception.

e.g. i felt old on the day after i had some major workout session after a long hiatus - aching bones and muscles, ouch.
e.g. i felt old on the day my cousin's kid called me auntie for the first time (technically my first "nephew").

but otherwise, most days, i feel young and among my friends, i am young...
for some weird reason, i'm nearly the baby of the crowd, not that i'm complaining... ;)

To quote my father: "You know you're old when a middle aged man gives up his seat for you on the bus." Alternatively, for teachers, "You know you're old when a middle aged man with a wife and two kids greets you as sir/teacher"

i don have that kind of power. but considering the possibilities...very hard lor.

My first assignment to sack an older person when I was 27 years old working in Manila. I was the manager and must do it...kenot sleep for 2 days and 2 nights cos' I was very close with my team. This engineer, 40 years old man was reporting to me...and we have to close down the site work....so sacking is onli option for us....I think feeling mature and level headedness are more important in our life...age does not matter..:worried:.

After that experience, I always keep emotional escape route out for myself in the event I need to do retrenchment and sacking......a necessary evil part of my career.....:(

My Ma once told me:
child - don't like girlfren/boyfren
teenager - talk about girlfren/boyfren
young adult - talk about getting married
adult/parent - talk about kids
old - talk about kids getting married

incidentally, we were talking in the office this last week since one of my team members was celebrating his 29th birthday.... i realised i'm theoretically old enough to be the mother of several of them :(

You are right, your destiny is in your hand.
You need to do something to change the direction and steer your destiny with your own hand.
Maybe you can find what you need within your same company, maybe you want to move out, it's your own decision.

I'm also in the process of switching job now ... moving away from the current thankless electronic material division, to the renewable energy division.
Going green is the in thing now, so I'm looking forward to more exciting and new things to explore in my new job. If the transfer goes smoothly, will be starting in Jan 2010.:)
