Hello All,
I received this email from a friend, and I thought it'd be cool to read it. My intention for this thread: Tell us what love means to you by actions. Let's hear it. Before that, please read this. It's very meaningful.
Thanks, looking forward to your participation.
****************
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year olds. What does love mean? The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.
1. When my grandma got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandpa does it for her now all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love. Rebecca- age 8
2. When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouths. Billy-age 4 (I love it! - how old is this kid?)
3. Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving Cologne and they go out and smell each other. Kari- age 5
4. Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs. Chrissy- age 6
5. Love is what makes you smile when you're tired. Terri- age 4
6. Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK. Danny- age 7
7. Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My mommy and my daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss. Emily- age 8
8. Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen. Bobby- age 7 (WOW - get the Kleenex - he'll go places in this ole world.)
9. If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate. Nikka- age 6
10. Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday. Noelle- age 7
11. Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well. Tommy- age 6
12. During my piano recital, I was on stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore. Cindy- age 8
13. My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night. Clare-age 6 (gotta love her)
14. Love is when mommy gives daddy the best piece of chicken. Elaine-age 5
15. Love is when mommy sees daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford. Chris- age 7
16. Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day. Mary Ann- age 4
17. When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you. Karen- age 7 (what generation is this kid?)
18. Love is when mommy sees daddy on the toilet and doesn't think it's gross. Mark- age 6
19. You really shouldn't say I LOVE YOU unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget. Jessica- age 8 (priceless)
20. And the winner was a 4 year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly man who had just lost his wife. When the child saw the man cry, the little boy went over into the man's yard and climbed on top of the man's lap and just sat there. When the boy's mother asked him what he'd said to the neighbor, the little boy said, Nothing, I just helped him cry.

3. Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving Cologne and they go out and smell each other. Kari- age 5

18. Love is when mommy sees daddy on the toilet and doesn't think it's gross. Mark- age 8

Some of you would have read this before, but for those of you who have not read this, this is a very beautiful one. The title is: The Missing Rib.
Very heart-moving story. Read on...
*********
A girl in love asked her boyfriend..
Girl : Tell me ...who do you love most in this world?
Boy : You, of course!
Girl : In you heart, what am I to you?
Boy : The boy thought for a moment and looked
intently in her eyes and said, "You are my rib. In
the Bible, it was said that God saw that Adam was
lonely, during his sleep; God took one of Adam's
rib and created Eve. Every man has been
searching for his missing rib, only when you find
the woman of your life; you'll no longer feel the
lingering ache in your heart."
After their wedding, the couple had a sweet and
happy life for a while. However, the youthful couple
began to drift apart due to the busy schedule of life
and the never-ending worries of daily
problems..their life became mundane...
All the challenges posed by the harsh realitites of
life began to gnaw away their dreams and love for
each other...The couple began to have more
quarrels and each quarrel became more heated...
One day, after the quarrel, the girl ran out of the
house...At the opposite side of the road, she
shouted, "You don't love me!!"
The boy hated her childishness and out of
impulse, retorted, "Maybe, it was a mistake for us
to be together! You were never my missing rib!"
Suddenly, she turned quiet and stood there for a
long while...He regretted what he said but words
spoken are like thrown away water, you can never
take it back. With tears, she went home to pack
her things and was determined in breaking-up.
Before she left the house, "If I'm really not your
missing rib, pls let me go...she continued, "It is
less painful this way...let us go on our separate
ways and search for our own partners..."
Five years went by...
He never re-married but he had tried to find out
about her life indirectly...
She had left the country and back...She had
married a foreigner and divorsed..
He felt anguished that she never waited for him.
In the dark and lonely night, he lit his cigarette and
felt the lingering ache in his heart. He couldn't
bring himself to admit that he was missing her...
One day, they finally met...At the airport, a place
where there were many reunions and good-
byes...He was going away on a business trip.
She was standing there alone, with just the
security door separating them. She smiled at him
gently.
Boy : How are you?
Girl : I'm fine. How bout you..have you found your
missing rib?
Boy : No.
Girl : I'll be flying to New York in the next flight.
Boy : I'll be back in 2 weeks time. Give me a call
when you are back...you know my
number...nothing has changed.
With a smile, she turned around and waved
goodbye..
Goodbye...
One week later, he heard of her death. She had
perished in New York.
In the event that shocked the world...
Midnight...Once again, he lit his cigarette....
And like before, he felt the lingering ache in his
heart...He finally knew she was the missing rib that
he had carelessly broken...
Sometimes, people say things out of moments of
fury...Most often than not, the outcome could be
disastrous and detrimental...
We vent our frustrations 99% at our loved
ones..And even though we know that we ought
to "think twice and act wisely", it's often easier
said than done.
Things happen each day, many of which are
beyond our control...
Let us treasure every moment and everyone in our
lives...
Tomorrow may never come; give and accept what
you have today.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she
wears, the figure she carries, or the way she
combs her hair.
The Beauty of a woman be seen in her eyes,
because that is the doorway to her heart - the
place where love resides.

Well, this is a hypothetical question. It really is hard to say what one would do.
I would do this:
1. I would know who is able to swim and who not. Then I'll know what to do. If both can't,...go to 2
2. Who can sustain oneself longer? I would save the who who is 'weaker'. If both are 'weak'...
3. (This is supposed to be the first, but don't wanna rearrange), get help from people around.
I don't know, really. One way or another, you'll not be happy because it means sacrificing the other.

After 7 and a half year this is what i've found out about marriage.
1) I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.
2) No matter how much I care, some people are just @$$hole
3) I've learned that it take years to built up trust, and it only take suspicion, no proof to destroy it.
4) I've learned that you can get by on charmed for about fifteen minutes. After that you've better have a big willy or huge boobs.
5) You shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screw up than you think.
6) We are responsible for what we do - unless we are celebrities
7) Regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades, and there had better be a lot of money to take place.
8) People care about most in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away.

8) People care about most in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away.
and what about my dad's advice on cheating - 'just remember, one woman in your life is bad enough!' :D

Hey All,
I hear the very ugly side of relationships. But here is something that will help you appreciate what you have.
This is very true. A very meaningful article indeed, to share with you...
Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. "Wow, this girl in my office is a real looker. But it's not her Wynona Rider features that got me. I'm crazy about her because she's also understanding, intelligent, tender - so many things that my spouse is not."
Somewhere along the way, you'll find a woman or a man who will be more charming or sensitive. More alluring. More thoughtful. Richer. Have greater sex appeal. And you will find a woman or man who will need you and pursue you and go loco over you more than your spouse ever did. Because no wife or husband is perfect. Because a spouse will only have 90% of what you're looking for.
So adultery takes place when a husband or wife looks for the missing 10%. Let's say your wife is melancholic by nature. You may find yourself drawn to the pretty clerk who has a cherry laugh no matter what she says: "I broke my arm yesterday, Hahahaha . . ." Or because your wife is a homebody in slippers and pajamas, smelling of garlic and fish oil, you may fall for a fresh-smelling young sales representative that visits your office in a sharp black blazer, high heels, and a red pencil-cut skirt. Or because your husband is the quiet type, your heart may skip a beat when you meet an old college flame who has the makings of a talk show host.
But wait! That's only 10% of what you don't have. Don't throw away the 90% that you already have! That's not all. Add to your spouse's 90% the 10% that represents all the years that you have been with each other.
The storms you have weathered tog! ether. The unforgettable moments of sadness and joy as a couple. The many adjustments you have made to love the other. The wealth of memories that you've accumulated as lovers.
Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. But faithfulness happens when you start thanking God for what you already have.
But I'm not just talking about marriage. I'm talking about life! About your jobs. About your friends. About your children. About your lifestyles.
Are you like the economy airline passenger that perennially peeks through the door of the first class cabin, obsessed with what he's missing? "They have got more leg room! Oh my, the ir food is served in porcelain! Wow, their seats recline at an 80% angle and they've got personal videos!"
I guarantee you'll be miserable for the entire trip! Don't live your life like that. Forget about what the world says is first class. Do you know that there are many first class passengers who are miserable in first class -- because they're not riding in a private Lear Jet?
The main message:
If you start appreciating what you have right now, wherever you are IS first class!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctor worry about them. That is why you pay him/her.
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. " An idle mind is the devil's workshop," And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is God. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Dear All,
I love the following article. Love is when you are willing to spend time with a person. In this world we live in, everything is so fast paced, we hardly have anytime for anything. Read on, and may the message inspire you.
******************
A young man learnt what's most important in life from the guy next door.
It had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College, girls,
career, and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear across
the country in pursuit of his dreams. There, in the rush of his busy life,
Jack had little time to think about the past and often no time to spend
with his wife and son. He was working on his future, and nothing could stop
him.
Over the phone, his mother told him, "Mr. Belser died last night. The
funeral is Wednesday." Memories flashed through his mind like an old
newsreel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days.
"Jack, did you hear me?"
"Oh, sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since I thought of
him.
I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago," Jack said.
"Well, he didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you were
doing. He'd reminisce about the many days you spent over 'his side of
the fence' as he put it," Mom told him.
"I loved that old house he lived in," Jack said.
"You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make sure
you had a man's influence in your life," she said.
"He's the one who taught me carpentry," he said. "I wouldn't be in this
business if it weren't for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things
he thought were important... Mom, I'll be there for the funeral," Jack
said.
As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his
hometown. Mr. Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had no
children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away.
The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see
the old house next door one more time. Standing in the doorway, Jack paused
for a moment. It was like crossing over into another dimension, a leap
through space and time. The house was exactly as he remembered. Every step
held memories. Every picture, every piece of furniture.... Jack stopped
suddenly.
"What's wrong, Jack?" his Mom asked. "The box is gone," he said. "What
box?"
Mom asked. "There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his
desk. I must have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever
tell me was 'the thing I value most,'" Jack said.
It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered it,
except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had taken it.
"Now I'll never know what was so valuable to him," Jack said. "I better get
some sleep. I have an early flight home, Mom."
It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died. Returning home from work
one day Jack discovered a note in his mailbox. "Signature required on a
package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office within the
next
three days," the note read.
Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and
looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting was
difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention. "Mr. Harold
Belser" it read. Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open the
package. There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's hands shook
as he read the note inside. "Upon my death, please forward this box and its
contents to Jack Bennett. It's the thing I valued most in my life." A small
key was taped to the letter. His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes,
Jack carefully unlocked the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold
pocket watch. Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he
unlatched the cover. Inside he found these words engraved: "Jack, Thanks
for
your time! Harold Belser."
"The thing he valued most...was...my time." Jack held the watch for a few
minutes, then called his office and cleared his appointments for the
next two days. "Why?" Janet, his assistant asked. "I need some time to
spend
with my son," he said. "Oh, by the way, Janet...thanks for your time!"
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments
that take our breath away."
Think about this. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.
1. At least 2 people in this world love you so much they would die for you.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be
just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like
you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. If not for you, someone may not be living.
8. You are special and unique.
9. When you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you probably
won't get it, but if you trust God to do what's best, and wait on His
time, probably, sooner or later, you will get it or something better.
10. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good can still come
from it.
11. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look: you
most likely turned your back on the world.
12. Someone that you don't even know exists, loves you.
13. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude
remarks.
14. Always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much better
when they know and you'll both be happy.
15. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they
are
great.

If a gal cries in front of you,
it means that she couldn't take
it anymore.
If you took her hand,
she would stay with you for the rest of your
life;
If you let her go, she couldn't go back to being
herself anymore.
A gal won't cry easily,
except in front of the person who she love the
most,
she becomes weak.
A gal won't cry easily,
only when she love you the most,
she put down her ego.
Guys, if a gal cried bcoz of you,
please hold her hands firmly,
she's the one who would stay with you for the
rest

your life.
Guys, if a gal cried bcoz of you,
please don't give her up,
maybe bcoz of your decision,

Don't do this to a gal,
You may regret for the rest of your life.

Here's something nice i came across..on love, of coz. Njoy reading :)
************************************************** *******
When you think of your past love, you may view it as a failure.
But when you find a new love, you view the past as a teacher.
In the game of love, it doesn't really matter who won or who lost. What is important is you know when to hold on and when to let go!
You know you really love someone when you want him or her to be happy, even if their happiness means that you're not part of it.
Everything happens for the best. If the person you love doesn't love you back, don't be afraid to love someone else again, for you'll never know unless you give it a try.
You'll never love a person you love unless you risk for love....
*But how can we know, that is “love”?
*How can we know we’ve falled in love?
*How can we know it’s not just a lust, n impulsive act or even curiosity?
*Is this for real? Will we regret later on, if we’ve made the wrong decision to fall in/out of love?
Love strives in hurting. If you don't get hurt, you don't learn how to love. Love doesn't hurt all the time; though the hurting is still there to test you, to help you grow. Don't find love, let love find you. That's why it's called falling in love because you don't force – “yourself to fall”. You just fall.
You cannot finish a book without closing its chapters. If you want to go on, then you have to leave the past as you turn the pages. Love isn't destroyed by a single failure or won by a single caress. It is a lifetime venture in which
we are always learning, discovering and growing. The greatest irony of love is letting go when you need to hold on and holding on when you need to let go. We lose someone we love only when we are destined to find someone else who can love us even more than we can love ourselves.
On falling out of love, take some time to heal and then get beckon the horse. But don't ever make the same mistake of riding the same one that threw you the first time. To love is to risk rejection, to live is to risk dying, to hope is to risk failure.
But “risk” must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is risk nothing!!!!
To reach for another is to risk involvement, to expose your feelings is to expose true-self, to love is to risk not to be loved in return.
How to define love: fall but do not stumble, be constant but not too persistent, share and never be unfair, understand and try not to demand, hurt but never keep the pain.
Love is like a knife. It can stab the heart or it can carve wonderful images into the soul that can always last for a lifetime!
Love is supposed to be the most wonderful feeling. It should inspire you and give you joy and strength. But sometimes the things that give you joy can also hurt you in the end.
>Loving people means giving them the freedom who they choose to be and where they choose to be.
>For all the heartaches and the tears, for gloomy days and fruitless years, you should give thanks, for you know, that they were the things that helped you grow.
>Loving someone means giving him the freedom to find his way; whether it leads towards you or away from you. Love is a painful risk to take but the risk must be taken no matter how scary or painful, for only then you'll experience the fullness of humanity, and that is LOVE.
~Only love can hurt your heart, fill you with desire and tear you apart.
~Only love can make you cry and only love knows why.
*If you're not ready to cry, if you're not ready to take the risk, if you're not ready to feel the pain, then you're not ready to fall in love*
~ There was a time in our lives when we became afraid to fall in love 'coz every time we do, we get hurt, and then I figured that's why it's called <falling in love>

Love means to value time, with all it's challenges. Sometimes, how ironic it can be when we wish if we could just dismiss the hard times. But it's these hard times that makes us who we are, and where we are today is a result of what we have endured when we were younger.

A French tale : The Magic Thread –William J. Bennett
In the book of “Virtues”, William J. Bennett tells a story called “The Magic Thread”. In this French tale we read of Peter, a boy who is strong and able, yet sadly flawed by an attitude of impatience. Always dissatisfied with his present condition, Peter spends his life daydreaming about the future.
One day while wandering in the forest, Peter meets a strange old woman who gives him a most tantalizing opportunity – the chance to skip the dull, mundane moments of life. She hands Peter a silver ball from which a tiny gold thread protrudes. “This is your life thread,” she explains. “Do not touch it and time will pass normally. But if you wish time to pass more quickly, you have only to pull the thread a little way and an hour will pass like a second. But I warn you, once the thread has been pulled out, it cannot be pushed back in again.”
This magical thread seems the answer to all of Peter’s problems. It is just what he has always wanted. He takes the ball and runs home.
The following day in school Peter has his first opportunity to put the silver ball to use. The lesson is dragging, and the teacher scolds Peter for not concentrating. Peter fingers the silver ball and gives the thread a slight tug. Suddenly the teacher dismisses the class, and Peter is free to leave school. He is overjoyed! How easy his life will now be. From this moment, Peter begins to pull the thread a little everyday.
But soon peter begins to use the magic thread to rush through larger portions of life. Why waste time pulling the thread just a little every day when he can pull it hard and complete school altogether? He does so and finds himself out of school and apprenticed in a trade. Peter uses the same technique to rush through his engagement to his sweetheart. He cannot bear to wait months to marry her, so he uses the gold thread to hasten the arrival of his wedding day.
Peter continues this pattern throughout his life. When hard, trying times come, he escapes them with his magic thread. When the baby cries at night, when he faces financial struggles, when he wishes his own children to be launched in careers of their own, Peter pulls the magic thread and bypasses the discomfort of the moment.
But sadly, when he comes to the end of his life, Peter realizes the emptiness of such an existence. By allowing impatience and discontentment to rule him, Peter has robbed himself of life’s riches moments and memories. With only the grave to look forward to, he deeply regrets ever having used the magic thread.
In introducing this story, Mr. Bennett insightfully comments, “Too often, people want what they want (or what they think they want, which is usually “happiness” in one form or another) right now. The irony of their impatience is that only by learning to wait, and by a willingness to accept the bad with the good, do we usually attain those things that are truly worthwhile.”

The best lovers are those who are capable of loving from a distance, far enough to allow the other person to grow, but never too far to feel the love deep within your being. To let go of someone doesn't mean you have to stop loving, it only means that you allow that person to find his own happiness without expecting him to come back.
Letting go is not just setting the other person free, but it is also setting
yourself free from all bitterness, hatred, and anger that keep in your heart.
Do not let the bitterness rare away your strength and weaken your faith, and never allow pain to dishearten you, but rather let you grow with wisdom in bearing it.
You may find peace in just loving someone from a distance not expecting anything in return. But be careful, for this can sustain life but can never give enough room for us to grow. We can all survive with just beautiful memories of the past but real peace and happiness come only with open acceptance of what reality is today.
You don't have to forget someone you love.
What you need to learn is how to accept the verdict of reality without being bitter or sorry for yourself.
Don't let your heart run your life, be sensible and let your mind speak
for itself. Listen not only to your feelings but to reason as well.
Always remember that if you lose someone today, it means that someone better is coming tomorrow: If you lose love that doesn't mean that you failed in love.
Cry, if you have to, but make it sure that the tears wash away the hurt and the bitterness that the past has left with you.
Let go of yesterday and love will find its way back to you. And when it does, pray that it may be the love that will stay and last a lifetime

A long time ago, before the world was created and humans set foot on it for
the first time, virtues and vices floated around and were bored, not knowing what to do.
One day, all the vices and virtues were
gathered together and were more bored than ever. Suddenly, Ingenious came up
with an idea: "Let's play hide and seek!" All of them liked the idea and immediately Madness shouted: "I want to count, I want to count!"
And since nobody was crazy enough to
want to seek Madness, all the others agreed.
Madness leaned against a tree and started to count:
"One, two,three..." As Madness counted, the vices and virtues went hiding.
Tenderness hung itself on the horn of the moon,
Treason hid in a pile of garbage. Fondness curled up between the
clouds and Passion went to the centre
of the earth. Lie said that it would hide under a stone, but hid at the bottom of the lake, whilst Avarice entered a sack
that he ended up breaking. And Madness continued to count: "... seventy nine,
eighty, eighty one..."
By this time, all the vices and virtues were already hidden - except Love. For undecided as Love is, he could not
decide where to hide. And this should not surprise us, because we all know how difficult it is to hide Love.
Madness: "...ninety five, ninety six,
ninety seven..."
Just when Madness got to one hundred, Love jumped into a rose bush where he
hid. And Madness turned around and
shouted: "I'm coming, I'm coming!"
As Madness turned around, Laziness was the first to be found, because Laziness had no energy to hide.
Then he spotted Tenderness in the horn of the moon, Lie at the bottom of the lake and Passion at the centre of the earth. One by one, Madness found
them all - except Love.
Madness was getting desperate, unable
to find Love. Envious of Love, Envy
whispered to Madness: "You only need to find Love, and Love is hiding in the
rose bush."
Madness grabbed a wooden pitch fork and stabbed wildly at the rose bush.
Madness stabbed and stabbed until a
heartbreaking cry made him stop.
Love appeared from the rose bush, covering his face with his hands. Between his fingers ran two trickles of blood from his eyes.
Madness, so anxious to find Love, had stabbed out Love's eyes with a pitch
fork. "What have I done!
What have I done!" Madness shouted. "I have left you blind! How can I repair it?"
And Love answered: "You cannot repair my eyes.
But if you want to do something for me, you can be my guide."
And so it came about that from that day on, Love is blind and is always accompanied by Madness.

Hey All,
Hmm, pretty quiet here....
Let's get innocent opinions here...I have a couple just popped up my mind...
**************
Love is...
When you have just 2 ringgit left, and you decide to buy something for the special someone. Money is not an issue, the person's happiness is...
Love is...
When you think of the person's birthday even if it's like a year away, to prepare for it...
Love is...
Though you just scolded someone, to other people, you say that they mean the world to you...
**************
Hope to get across more if it comes up my head. But looking forward to hearing from you all.
God bless!

Love is...
When you keep praying for someone even though there is no obvious need that is seen...
Love is...
When you decide to walk the distance to get the best gifts instead of the ones nearby because the difference in quality...

Subject: Girlfriends
A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day drinking iced tea and
visiting with her mother. As they talked about life, marriage, the
responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother
clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear,
sober glance upon her daughter. "Don't forget your girlfriends," she
advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. "They'll
be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your
husband, no matter how much you love the children you'll have, you are
still going to need girlfriends.
Remember to go places with them now and then, do things with them.
And remember that 'girlfriends' are not only your friends but your
sisters, daughters, and other female relatives too. You'll need other
women. Women always do."
"What a funny piece of advice," the young woman thought. "Didn't
I just get married? Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a
married woman for goodness sake, a grown-up, not a young girl who needs
girlfriends! Surely my husband and the family we'll start will be all I
need to make my life worthwhile!"
But she listened to her mother, she kept contact with her
girlfriends and befriended more each year. As the years rolled by, one
after another, she gradually came to understand that her mom really knew
what she was talking about. As time and nature work their changes and
their mysteries upon a woman, girlfriends are the mainstays of her life.
After 55 years of living in this world, here is what I've learned:
Time passes
Life happens
Distance separates
Children grow up
Love waxes and wanes
Hearts break
Careers end
Jobs come and go
Parents die
Colleagues forget favors
Men don't call when they say they will
BUT girlfriends are there, no matter how much time and how many
miles between you. A girlfriend is never further away then needing her
can reach.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley, and you have to walk
it for yourself, your girlfriends will be on the valley's edge, cheering
you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf,
and waiting with open arms at the valley's end. Sometimes they will
even break the rules and walk beside you, or come in and carry you out.
Our daughters, sisters, mothers, sisters-in-law, mothers-in-law,
aunties, nieces, cousins, extended families and friends bless our lives.
The world wouldn't have been the same without them and neither would we.
When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the
incredible journey or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor would we know how
much we would need each other, and how we need each other still.
love means NOTHING if u dun appreciate it and accept with open heart. another key word 'compromise' in LOVE r/ship.

Girl: Slow down. Im scared.
Guy: No this is fun.
Girl: No its not. Please, its too scary!
Guy: Then tell me you love me.
Girl: Fine, I love you. Slow down!
Guy: Now give me a BIG hug.
*Girl hugs him*
Guy: Can you take my helmet off & put it
on yourself? its bugging me.
(In the paper the next day):
A motorcycle had crashed into a building
because of break failure. 2 people were on it,
but only 1 survived.
*The truth was that halfway down the
road, the guy realized that his breaks broke, but
he didn't want to let the girl know. Instead, he
had her say she loved him & felt her hug one
last time, then had her wear his helmet so that
she would live even though it meant that he
would die.

A WOMAN dies after living a long, dignified life.
When she meets God, she asks him something
that has long bothered her: If Man is created in
Gods image, and if all men are created equal, why
do people treat each other so badly?
God replies that each person who enters our life
has a unique lesson to teach us. And it is only
through these lessons that we learn about life,
people, relationships and God.
This confuses the woman, so God begins to
explain:
When someone lies to you, it teaches you that
things are not always as they seem. The truth is
often far beneath the surface. Look beyond the
masks people wear if you want to know their heart.
And remove your own masks to let people know
yours.
When someone steals from you, it teaches you
that nothing is forever. Always appreciate what you
have, for you never know when you might lose it.
And never, ever take your friends and family for
granted because today is the only guarantee you
have.
When someone inflicts an injury upon you, it
teaches you that the human state is fragile.
Protect and take care of your body as best you
can because its the only thing you are sure to
have forever.
When someone mocks you, it teaches you that no
two people are alike. When you encounter people
who are different from you, dont judge them by
how they look or act. Instead base your opinion on
the contents of their heart.
When someone breaks your heart, it teaches you
that loving someone does not always mean that
the person will love you back. But dont turn your
back on love because when you find the right
person, the joy that one person brings will make
up for all the past hurts put together.
When someone holds a grudge against you, it
teaches you that everyone makes mistakes. When
you are wronged, the most virtuous thing you can
do is to forgive the offender without pretence.
Forgiving those who have hurt us is the most
difficult, the most courageous, and the noblest
thing man can do.
When a loved one is unfaithful to you, it teaches
you that resisting temptation is mans greatest
challenge. Be vigilant in your resistance against all
temptation. By doing so, you will be rewarded with
an enduring sense of satisfaction far greater than
the temporary pleasure by which you were
tempted.
When someone cheats you, it teaches you that
greed is the root of all evil.
Aspire to make your dreams come true, no matter
how lofty they may be. Do not feel guilty about
your success, but never let an obsession with
achieving your goals lead you to engage in
malevolent activities.
When someone ridicules you, it teaches you that
nobody is perfect. Accept people for their merits
and be tolerant of their flaws. Do not ever reject
someone for imperfections over which they have no
control.
Upon hearing the Makers wisdom, the old woman
becomes concerned that there were no lessons to
be learned from mans good deeds. God tells her
that mans capacity to love is the greatest gift he
has. At the root of all kindness is love, and each
act of love also teaches us a lesson.
As the womans curiosity deepens, God once
again explains:
When someone loves us, it teaches us that love,
kindness, charity, honesty, humility, forgiveness
and acceptance can counteract all the evil in the
world. For every good deed, there is one less evil
deed. Man alone has the power to control the
balance between good and evil, but because the
lessons of love are not taught often enough, the
power is too often abused.
When you enter someones life, whether by choice
or chance, what will your lesson be. Will you teach
love or harsh reality? Each one of us has power
over the balance of love. Use that power wisely.

~~~Ponder over this Story~~~
A SOLDIER was finally returning coming home to
the United States after having
fought in the war in Vietnam. He phoned his
parents from San Francisco and said: Mom, Dad,
Im coming home, but I have a favour to ask. Ive a
friend I would like to bring home with me.
Sure, his parents replied, wed love to meet him.
Theres something you should know the son
continued. He was hurt pretty badly in the fighting.
He stepped on a landmine and lost an arm and a
leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to
come live with us.
Im sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help
him find somewhere to live.
No, Dad, I want him to live with us.
Son, said the father, you dont know what youre
asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a
terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to
live, and we cant let something like this interfere
with our lives.
I think you should just come home and forget
about this guy. Hell find a way to get by on his
own.
At that point, the son hung up and his parents
heard nothing more from him. A few days later,
however, they received a call from the San
Francisco police: their son had died after falling
from a building. They believed it was suicide.
The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco
and were taken to the city morgue to identify their
sons body.
They recognised him, but to their horror, they also
discovered something they didnt know he had
only one arm and one leg.
~~~Well, i think the moral of this story would be: Love comes with no 'If's or 'But's, but only Acceptence & Unconditional LOVE~~~

Am not sure whether tis story has already been shared here...too lazy 2 go & check :p
Being loved is like waiting for a bus!
Message: When the bus come, you look at it and
you said to
yourself, "eeee... so full...cannot sit down one". So
you said to yourself, "I'll wait for the next one." so
you let the bus go and waited for the second bus.
Then the second bus came, you looked at it and
you said, "eeee...this bus so old...surely very
uncomfortable one." So you let the bus go and
decided to wait for the next bus.
After a while, another bus came. It's not crowded
and not old but you said, "eeee... no air-con
one...and the weather is so warm, better wait for
the next one." So again you let the bus go and
decided to wait for the next bus.
Then the sky started to get dark as it is getting
late.
You panicked and jump on to the next on coming
bus. It is not until much later that you found out
that you had boarded on to the wrong bus! So you
wasted your time and money waiting for what you
want!
Even if an aircon bus came, can you ensure that
the aircon bus won't break down or will the aircon
be too cold for you?
So people...(mostly girls but guys too!) want to
make sure that what you want is not wrong. But it
wouldn't hurt to give other people a chance, right?
If you found that the "bus" doesn't suit, you just
press the red button and get off the bus!
But wait...I am sure all of you have this
experienced before. You saw a bus is coming (the
bus you want of course) you flagged it and the
driver acted blur by pretending not seeing you and
zoomed pass you!
The bottom line of being loved is like waiting for a
bus and whether you want to get on the bus and
give the bus a chance depends totally on you and
walking alone is just like being out of love.
If you love someone set him/her free. If he/she
comes back to you, you know they're yours. If
they don't then it was never meant to be.
Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone, tell. Don't be afraid to express
yourself. Reach out and tell someone what they
mean to you. Because when you decide that it is
the right time, it might be too late.
Seize the day.....Never have regrets.
And most importantly, stay close to your friends
and family, for they have helped make you the
person that you are today.
Pass this along to your friends. It could make a
difference.
The difference between doing all that you can or
having regrets which may stay with you forever.
Friendship is never an accident. It is always the
result of high intentions, sincere effort, intelligent
direction and skillful execution. It represents the
wise choice of many alternatives.

I've found the image...

Interestingly, research has shown that young children cannot identify the intimate couple because they do not have prior memory associated with such a scenario.
What they WILL see, however, is the nine dolphins in the picture!
Now... If it's hard for you to find the dolphins within 6 seconds, your mind is indeed corrupted and you probably need help!

from a website named 4minutesperday.com
I once had a friend who grew to be very close to me. Once when we were
sitting at the edge of a swimming pool, she filled the palm of her hand with
a little water and held it before me, and said this:
You see this water carefully contained on my hand? It symbolizes Love. As
long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it
will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers around
it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first cracks it finds.
This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love... They try
to posses it, they demand, they expect... and just like the water spilling
out of your hand, Love will retrieve from you.
For love is meant to be free, you can not change its nature.
If you have people you love, allow them to be free beings. Give and don't
expect. Advise, but don't order. Ask, but never demand. It might sound
simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice. It is
the secret to true Love. To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no
expectations from those who you love, and yet an unconditional caring . .
