Got a parking ticket for not putting coins in the meter at 10am. At 3pm they came again. Thought they won't saman me. Dem! I'm so wrong. They gave me another one. This never happens to me before. Two saman in a day. Can you believe that?

But I've never pay any of them. Just throw them under the car like rough paper. Never get any warning letter before. Can someone tell me are they really gonna take action? I had 3 previous cars which I've sold them without any problem.

i think probably they didn't see your first one...unless the ruling has changed ie they can issue you more than 1. Nowadays they do come quite early..around 9.30am. Used to come around 10am, huh?

many years ago, i accumulated more than 40 samans for not feeding the meter .. and i only got notice of around 9 of it which i paid... RM25 each..never heard from them since.. my colleague was summon to court for not paying the notice..

i know! they even used to have 1 bangla checking on those meters to ensure they are working! i think all of us are famous for our post-it "meter rosak"

my friends didnt pay it too. he have more than 10 saman but he ignore it. kekekeke....

at least they only saman in kl... it's a cruel city here in dublin... they clamp your wheels and to get it free, you must have credit card to pay fine though phone, or else go to nearest police station to pay in cash, then only will be released... not cheap either - 80euro (i think) to free the clamps!!!

worse, the clamping guys work on salary + commission - so they will try to clamp as many as they possibly can! :mad:

my experience with mppj (dbkl should be the same, i guess):

i got 2 tickets - which i didn't pay for a very long time, then 1 day i decided to go and pay it - made hell lot of noise about the reader not seeing my ticket and ended up paying $10 for 1 and $30 for the other.

just 2-3 weeks ago i went to the traffic police hq in pj state and settled 9 traffic samans - $900.

my advice - pay up early so that you don't have to go through the hassle later :D

Your collegue didn't. In the end, they waived the unpaid summons...only caught those with terror outstanding amount:) Dem rugi...

simple. if you think you are responsibility ppl and admit you are at fault (not obeying the law), then go and pay the saman. case closed.

if not, then dun pay at sit back relax. you wouldnt know what will happen in the future. they might ask you to pay in a large amount to settle the saman. you will never know it.

Bought my 1st car sometime in 1995, sold them in 1998. Plenty DBKL saman. No problem.

Bought 2nd car in 1998 sold them in 2001. Plenty DBKL saman. No problem.

Bought 3rd car in 2001 until now, road tax sudah renew 4 years. also no problem.

not really.....last time...i think 5yrs back..i went to PJ SS2,...20min ,for lunch,...then sudah kena saman...
never mind....i asked my PJ frens..all of them said.."no need to pay...they wont come after you"...so i kept the saman paper in my file...for years..

later ..i think after 2-3 yrs/..i received a warning letter saying..if you dont pay ,they will summon you to court.

so i went to MPPJ...trying to appeal....(saman RM100)....after discussion..the office gave me RM20 discount only...still have to pay RM80 saman for the RM1 parking..DAMN!!

they said.." if u come within 14 days,u only have to pay RM30...."now u have to fork out so much $$$$.... :mad:

so ....Jang..u btr decide.....

DBKL saman...= i kena 3 times....RM300 saman...i appealed and paid RM150 each...

My experience with MPPJ...

I had valid parking ticket, sitting on top of the older parking ticket. That moronic MPPJ b@stard came trotting along, and instead of looking at the new valid ticket, he checked the old expired one, partly covered by the new valid ticket and saman me.

I had valid parking ticket placed on the right side of the dash and my car was side-parked. The lazy b@stard came trotting along on the left (because easier to walk on the left of the car.. on the right is longkang)... and did not bother to check the entire dash.. and saman me.

Of course me was furious. Wrote official letter to the morons with all the copy of ticket and saman. I ended the letter with "... and I trust that you will void the parking summons wrongfully issued to me". Few MONTHS later, got a reply.."Saman telah dibatalkan"

One uncle who serves drinks nearby also kena. That moron came trotting along and while he was issuing the saman, uncle confonted him and shoved the valid ticket in his face. That bugger just said..

"Ini, you pigi mppj opis settle lar"..

Fuh yor.. the uncle went into a fit.. screaming vulgarities at him..

"Ini bukan saya punya porbem.. you issue salah.. u settle!!"

Then he crumple up the saman and threw it back at the moron's face.

:D ahahaha. sometimes the MPPJ/DBKL do take advantage on us... "just simply saman".

siewjang, just be a responsible person lor... pay the saman. you never know one day all the saman pile up in your face and ask you to pay, just like what happen to JPJ saman.

my brother-in-law kena saman many times for speed track. he didnt bother to pay. so in last incident, the JPJ issue a warning letter and refuse to renew his roadtax. so he end up paying more than 10 saman.... around RM2000++.
