With many layoffs, retrenchment and more to come, traffic jam are going from bad to worst in KL.
Why is this happening?

I think the reverse would be true. With retrenchments/layoffs people would tend to want to save and stay at home or if ever they want to leave home they would be expected to use public transport.
here thousands have been retrenched but the jams haven't eased at all.... and neither has the spending i think! ppl still shopping and dining out like nobody's business!

I thot this would be the case but the reverse is happening. I am stuck in traffic jam longer than usual lately. Even leaving the house at 9am, it takes 50-60 mins to reach office whereas 6 months -1 year ago, it only takes 30-40 mins after 9am.

1) more ppl hunting jobs and going for interview
2) people more hardworking find customers due to lack of jobs
3) all buy 2nd hand car and no service which causes breakdown
