since my sister has been posting so regularly, how can i not live up to it also.

anyway, Maroon 5 has been releasing some nice songs lately, as opposed to their 'harder to breath' (i hate that song).

latest song, 'sunday morning' is kinda cool. nice listening.

Well, I like older songs, I'm sure not many share this sentiment. I used to collect a lot of Carpenters, Olivia Newton John, and some more contemporary ones like Whitney Houston and some others.

I like Disney songs, especially "Beauty and the Beast, A Whole New World, You'll be in My Heart", etc...

I can sing, but I don't know whether I can sing well or not.

Anyway, one song I really like, over the radio not too long ago was 'Angel' (I think i got the title correct) by Guy Sebastian. Pretty cool song, I like it.

Reading this thread makes me feel so old and out-dated. I know all the olders songs you put down but have no idea what songs the rest were talking about. Heard some nice song over the radio but dunno the title. Sigh....

Arh.. yess... we are just so alike Roland. I love all the songs you like too... maybe you forgot to include Celine Dion. Somehow, I am just mesmerised by her self-confidence and showmanship (besides her voice, needless to say). Her personality is just so strong.

ANother would be Martina McBride.. lovely voice!! and yes, Sarah Brightman... i have plenty of collections on all her songs.

Needless to say, I like the songs in the POTO...especially the duet:)

All I Ask Of You.....

No more talk of darkness
Forget these wide-eyed fears
I'm here
Nothing can harm you
My words will warm and calm you
Let me be your freedom
Let daylight dry your tears
I'm here
With you, beside you
To guard you and to guide you

Say you love me every weakening moment
Turn my head with talk to summertime
Say you need me with you now and always
Promise me that all you say is true
That's all I ask of you

Let me be your shelter
Let me be your light
You're safe
No one will find you
Your fears are far behind you

All I want is freedom
A world with no more night
And you
Always beside me
To hold me and to hide me

Then say you'll share with me one love,
One lifetime
Let me lead you from your solitude
Say you want me
And you need me
Beside you
Anywhere you go, let me go too
That's all I ask of you

Say you'll share with me one love
One lifetime
Say the word and I will follow you
Share each day with me,
Each night, each morning
Say you love me
You know I do
Love me, that's all I ask you
Love me, that's all I ask of you

this website plays the instrumental version - can sing along

http://www.niehs.nih.gov/kids/lyrics/alliask.htm - All I Ask Of You

Think of me, think of me fondly, when we've said goodbye.
Remember me once in a while - please promise me you'll try.
When you find that, once again, you long to take your heart back and be free
If you ever find a moment, spare a thought for me...
We never said our love was evergreen, or as unchanging as the sea -
but if you can still remember, stop and think of me...

Think of all the things we've shared and seen
- don't think about the things which might have been...

Think of me, think of me waking, silent and resigned.
Imagine me, trying too hard to put you from my mind.
Recall those days, look back on all those times,
think of the things we'll never do -
there will never be a day, when I won't think of you...

Can it be? Can it be Christine?
What a change! You're really not a bit the gawkish girl that once you were...
She may not remember me, but I remember her...

We never said our love was evergreen, or as unchanging as the sea
but please promise me, that sometimes, you will think of me!

not into country - too pop-ish. Bluegrass better. listen to live bluegrass in kentucky or southern ohio - SO cool. the banjo is very versatile.

also, love Cannonball by Damien Rice, Make me a Pallet on your floor by Gillian Welch, and Los Lonely Boys are really cool - good accoustic musicians are so rare in this day and age...

this next statement is going to blow the minds of all ALW fans out there, but i think the french boublil and schonberg are doing a better job than ALW :D ... i think ALW is good, just that boublil and sch have a slight edge. the music in saigon is extremely moving and seems to stand on it's own... and then there is the amazing les mis... i guess they just exist in a different time and age, afterall the french got their inspiration after watching ALW's starlight express years ago... and they responded with les mis! haha amazing!

how about some classics? for all you ballad lovers out there: Vincent by Don McLean, and Carmelita by the late Warren Zevon.

And a bit newer, try One Man Guy by Rufus Wainwright (specify rufus, ya, if you get the one that his father Louden sings, a bit different), and Holiday in Spain by Counting Crows.

This song BITCH by Meredith Brooks.... one of my fav.. too.. have it as one of my ringtone... :D

Heard tht in M'sia.. when the song reach.. I'm a b####(no sound)??

I hate the world today
Your so good to me, I know
but I can't change
Tried to tell you
but you looked at me like maybe
I'm an angel underneath
innocent and sweet

Yesterday I cried
You must have been relead to see the softer side
I can understand how you'd be so confused
I don't envy you
I'm a little bit of everything
all rolled into one

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover
I'm a child, I'm a mother
I'm a sinner, I'm a saint
I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell, I'm you dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way

So take me as I am
This may mean you'll have to be a stronger man
Rest assured that when I start to make you nervous
And I'm going to extremes
Tomorrow I will change
and today won't mean a thing

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover
I'm a child, I'm a mother
I'm a sinner, I'm a saint
I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell, I'm you dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way

Just when you think you got me figured out
The season's already changin'
I think it's cool you do what you do
and don't try to save me

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover
I'm a child, I'm a mother
I'm a sinner, I'm a saint
I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell, I'm you dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way

I'm a bitch, I'm a tease
I'm a goddess on my knees
When you're hurt, when you suffer
I'm your angel undercover
I've been numb, I'm revived
Can't say I'm not alive
You know I wouldn't want it any other way

i used to listen to NKOTB when i was at home... yeah, definitely one of the old favourites... by the time i moved here they already split up... oh, i can still hear joey's baby voice, and jordan's lead in nearly every song...

i think joey and jordan trying to establish as solo acts... got one of jordan's song "give it to you"... lyrics a bit *ehem*... :D
Same here...NKOTB...that Joe fella was my favourite...good-looking, blue eyes....but his looks somehow merosot when he grew older.

And I used to Like "A Shoulder to cry on" by Tommy Page...

You know what I really love. I mean, if I'm doing work, I stop at once and turn up the radio so I can absorb the music into my soul... Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Britney Spears.. God, who can forget her divine voice; and the Simpson sisters Jessica and Ashlee whose voices are like angels, and what about Vanilla Ice... ooh ohh... and the soulful words of beautious music from the glorious pieholes of Milli Vanilli... man, they should have won that feckin Grammy... and..... and.... and ....

AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! SOrry I can't keep saying all that with a straight face.

boy bands and pop princesses are not the greatest musicians.. either hate them or love them, but some of their tunes are just so catchy...

We don't need to fry egg on the frying pan. Just go backyard, put some cooking oil, then you can fry the egg on the cement.

They were at Chillis some two months ago and we have to request them to do the oldies like "Andainya" and "Sampaikan Salam". They do mostly English Songs nowadays. David and Loganathan are really superb. One thing hasn't change..their "Airfro" hairstyle. Ausman and another good friend were with me. Truly enjoyable. :)

p/s: Ray, keen to watch them perform live with me?

Wings!!! Awie da man... he should just stick to singing though. Black was malaysia's best drummer at that time.

But Lefthanded had the best musicians as a combination. Man Keedal is GOD.

Headwind was good too while Zainal Abidin was still around. Their present incarnation HW3 is not too bad.

Malaysia's best band ever Cromok!!!

Wow...didn't know that there are so many Alleycats fans in here. Perhaps RayHong should organise an outing with Alleycats soon. Are they still performing at Holiday Villa? But I prefer PJ Hilton Chillis...the food there is better. :)
