Not really, if you ask me. Depends how you look at things. Some people may appreciate it, while some people may think that sharing is boasting.

alright, i'll start...

how did i propose? very ashamed to say that i was extremely unromantic. i've been going out with dalady for about 4-5 years already (dino and fishboy should know very well :)) and have been discussing marriage on an "informal" basis... so i know she's willing to marry me...

i went with cireria to goldheart to look for a diamond ring... but being a very practical person :D, i changed my mind in the shop and got dalady a diamond pendant and chain instead. reason - nobody will wear a diamond ring everyday but necklace, possible (ok, ok, i know about the sentimental value and all that stuff...)

anyway, i got the necklace and the next time i met dalady, i proposed (at home with only my shorts on - i.e. half naked). she agreed, we have 2 kids now - deciding if we should have another... - end of story...

The main reason he gave me a chain with pendant instead of ring is because he doesn't know my ring size. A good and practical decision though, coz I had to had my wedding ring custom-sized. The regular sizes available are just too big. he must have learnt well from his lessons.... bought quite a number of stuff that were oversized for me...:D

To be fair...he did kneel down. :) But have to admit I wasn't taken by surprise. Like he said, we've discussed marriage before...so it was more like a formality, I guess.

This was my proposal..........

I had a bottle of whiskey and a bucket of ice by the bedside table, with a glass each with 2 shots each on the rocks. The lights were dim with Britney Spears' "I'm a slave for you" playing in the backgroud and I had a a surprise gift hidden under the pillow. Set up done, so we went out partying.

First step, managed to convince her home to have coffee after a nite of partying to sober up, but ended up in my bedroom having more whiskey coz I dont drink coffee. I got her on the bed on the pretext of looking for the surprise gift under the pillow. I had to out do daBoss no matter what, so I was not only shirtless, I was in my birthday suit at a blink of an eye.

As she pulled out the surprise gift from under the pillow, I jumped on the bed and said the magic word, "Darling, will you screw me?"

She looked at the packet of Durex on one hand and turned around and looked me in the eye.......than everything went blank!! I woke up next day with 1 black eye and a very bad headache.

Hi everybody!

I'm a tad fatigued this morning because I just hoped off an overnight plane
from Singapore and headed straight for work! So, bear with me, if my
writing capabilities are not 100% as I share some tremendous news with
you!

On the 27th of October, Jon proposed and I said 'YES'! It was all so
surreal and still feels like my feet are above ground level! We had
planned lunch about a week ago, but when Jono showed up at my work place,
his instructions were bizarre! "Shut down your PC, I'm kidnapping you and
we're not coming back to work. I've spoken to your manager!" Of course I
thought Jon was being silly and totally disregarded his message. I grabbed
my bag and went down to meet him for LUNCH. But he showed up with no car,
and the most mischievous grin AND a camera!!!! Hmmmm......

Dubiously, I went back to my desk, desperately trying to find my manager
(of course he had the day off too) and I tried digging info from my
colleagues but they said they knew nothing (of course that was a lie!)
When I got to my car, there were 10 beautiful long stem red roses waiting
for me. Thus starts the F - themed proposal!

(1) Flowers

(2) Fish
We drove to the fish market to have fish for lunch (fish being my favourite
food and all).

(3) First Love
After that, we headed towards Pyrmont Bay Park - my favourite spot and
(where I go to talk to God and also where I brought Jon the first time we
went out) and Jon went down on both knees and asked me to marry him. After
I had said yes, we headed back to my apartment. When I opened the door to
my apartment, I found more long-stem red roses but this time in a vase.

(4) More flowers
Then I walked into my room and there were roses EVERYWHERE (on the floor,
on the bed, on the chair, in the bathroom). There were 100 long stem roses
in total! It was amazing! For the first time I was flabbergasted! And
awaiting my arrival were 5 yellow-wrapped pressies.

(5) Frames
The first three pressies were photos of us framed.

(6) Friends/Best Friend/Family
The 4th pressie was a recorded CD of Jon's message to me! :) He also sang a
song to me!! :))) *sigh*

(7) Flying
The last pressie was in an envelope. When I opened it, I saw air tickets
from Singapore to KL dated 28th of October. Of course I was perplexed. How
could I arrange leave in such a short period of time? And where was the
Sydney-Singapore ticket?

Overwhelmed and still dumbfounded from the rush of excitement, my questions
were few. All I knew was that I was catching the 10pm flight to Singapore
that very night.

After packing and de-petalling my roses, and a sip of reds with Natalie, we
headed to the airport!

(8) First Class
Still recovering from the blissful afternoon, I was oblivious when we
checked in at the airport and Jon whispered, "Can you guess what the last
F is?" I had no clue. My brains had stopped churning when I inhaled the
aroma produced by all those roses in my apartment. :) So he pulled out the
final card, and on it the word "First".

You know when you go to the movies and they zoom in on the star and
everything else gets blurry.... that's exactly how I felt as it dawned
upon me, we were flying FIRST CLASS back to Singapore! My immediate
reflexes reached for the boarding pass and lo and behold, it read "First
Class".

How could I possibly not want to marry this man? He is the best-est and I
have never been happier!

I got in this morning and Jon is still in Singapore until the weekend.
We'll be holding an engagement party shortly and will send out the invites
once we've recovered from the proposal!

Just wanted I'd share this happy news with all of you!
