Reunion is good for networking. Networking will enhance your visions at work as you may get a better understanding of other industries. Those who are doing well, try to motivate your friends in the right direction. It is crucial to grow together otherwise it's lonely up there.

sutiong, i think reunion is for the sake of friendship, not for networking... sounds so calculating, as if you want to meet people only for the "kang tau" value....

LiLiaN - Please don't misunderstand. Some friends who are not doing well may feel inferior, thus, may not attend any reunion in the future. Whereas some friends may change & behave according to their job environment. For the sake of friendship, networking will create a better understanding.

i can see the problem alright... there really shouldn't be any reason to feel inferior... maybe it's easy for me to say, but pride can be a huge thing... but i always believe everyone has something that is superior than others... one may not be successful financially, but could be wiser, or having brilliant family life...
i have learnt that wealth is not a measure of success, it is your own belief in yourself that make you successful... and not to under-appreciate one's effort...
ya lah...success is only an illusion lah. can come and go just like that. old friends are great. they knew you and were your friends when they didn't need anything from you. i like! :)

As the years go by, a person's job/career or marriage life can determine his/her level of confidence. This may sometimes lead to mid-life crisis. Reunion of old friends may bring back smiles, joy & happiness which is not found in our daily life.

i agree... reunions bring back memories, some sweet, some bitter... but it's all part of the stuffs that make us who we are today...
i was surprised to hear a friend commented recently that not everyone is genuine about reunion for friendships and old times, but as an opportunity to evaluate who is doing better or not... in another word, mostly likely to show off...
i wish i can go to my class gatherings more, but living abroad, this is always a challenge, particular in the past few years as it's always during academic term... i hope that will change now that i'm not dictated by lectures/tuturial/lab's timetables...

i am proud to say that i still keep in contact with so many ex-acsians. even though i've been out for so many years, my bestest of the best friends are all ex-acsians. i can only count one other person who is not an ex-acsian among my bestest of the best friends - a colleague for more than 9 years...
most of the people i know never keep in contact with their ols school mates...

My friends from class of 85 still motivate each other. In every group, u'll find someone who likes to show-off/brag, this will balance the whole group like ying & yang.

Before this forum, I've only kept in touch (if you consider very occasional email, sms or call as keeping in touch) with a few close friends - like piglet, beanie..and a few others not in here. I missed the school days, too...those carefree years...
