hi all,
it's getting tough (taking too much time) moderating new user registrations - too many spammers. :mad:
what we've done:
1. hacked the "who visited today" section to only show approved/regular users and admins
2. sent verification emails to newly registered members to verify that they are alumni
one new additional measure:
1. besides the above, the admins will start deleting (without bothering to send verification emails) new users with weird/funny usernames and email addresses. anything that looks spammy will be immediately deleted.
