Hi Bro, how are you ? So you are really a super biker and outdoor sporting man. I hope you enjoyed what you are doing now. Actually, I really like outdoor but ... my right hand. But still I will join as much as possible the outdoor activities e.g. hiking and others to keep myself fit and most of all, I love the scenery and the tranquility of the outdoors. In Penang, we will usually go to Pantai Keracut, Penang Hill or half way and Itam Dam. Also I am doing these to free myself from the hectic life and to be near to Him. As you know He is the Creator of all things including us therefore, we see the nature we can reflect the genius of its Creator. The other thing is I need to maintain my stamina as every year end I will be in China and to reach those remote villages I need to walk/hike for few hours and with the altitude of at least 3500 - 5000 meters. Got to go now. Talk to you later.

Yeah, DUMC is like small CTA1. Currently, I am attached to Ayer Itam Chinese Methodist Church (AICMC). We have 2 worship sessions - Mandarin/English & Mandarin/Hokkien. I think DUMC has a strong Mission team. We are having a Mission team also.

Which province & which area if u won't mind telling - ? Inner Mongolia or Yunnan or - ? 3500m - 5000m altitude no joke leh - can snow pretty easily during winter tho'

ivannat
08-06-2008, 08:56 AM
Monay, the carps are still there. These 2 weeks are very hazy. Pantai Keracut is on the side of the island - you need to hike from "The End of the World" - end of Teluk Bahang near Butterfly Farm. By the way, Monay you are staying in Penang or northern states. As far as I know our former school mates in northern region - Jim Diong, Lim, Ting Ng Lee, Siew Kong, Robert Loh(Loh Sah John brother).

Anson, thanks for your interest. Is in Yunnan & it is like what you've said - high altitude, cold and no heater but still the Lord has been faithful to me. With at least 3500 meters, you may get High Altitude sickness - Headache & vomit. During winter, especially after rain there will be snow flakes coming down. It's really cold.

Good to know. Do people still go and feed them? How's the water level? Was in Penang 94-96. Now merantau in a foreign land on the opposite side of the world, LA in US and eat frozen durians as a treat....

Hi Heong Yi, nice to know u r enjoying yr stay in Penang. You are enjoying yourself in those nice places. I like Pamntai Kerachut the most esp at the USM Marine Station. Which route do you take to go up Penang Hill? Moon gate or the road?

ivannat
08-07-2008, 10:25 AM
Monay, we are all merantau lor except those who are still staying in CTA1. So don't worry about the fish as there are still a lot of visitors feeding them. It's good that you still have the chance to eat frozen durian. But think of you can get fresh fruits (apple, oranges & others) ... you are also blessed.

ivannat
08-07-2008, 10:31 AM
Odysseus, yes Penang is a nice place - good foods & nice scenery. But their beaches is not as clean as the beaches in CTA1 (10-15 years back). Normally, I am using a route besides Moon gate thru those big water pipes without stairs. Quite tiring but it's good for sweating.

Not merely, HY - but rather Missions Ministry where members are sent to regions ranging from Eastern Negeri Sembilan/West Pahang (Orang Asli Jahut), Kanowit, Sarawak (Ibans), Myanmar, Nepal, China (also in Yunnan but a little North of Kunming and that's a coal mine area where mortality rate is high) as well as a strong footing in Baray District, Cambodia. DUMC also commissions some missionaries into long-term, full-time assignments as well (Thailand/Hong Kong as well as one lady who's with MV Doulos)

SG 'quarantine visitors/ residents home from Mexico', not US.
That's why the Mexicans was complaining about discrimination.

Yeah, they put up some uni students back from exchange program in Mexico in the a nice beach front resort for 7 days, one person to 1 resort:cool:

For the rest, they get home quarantine orders. So far, no H1N1 case in SG & MY yet.

anyway, dont think it's accurate about the 'quarantine visitors from US' part in Sg...i know the authorities have allocated a nice beach front resort for those who come in with a fever,though....nice place, great view, expenses all paid....can consider??
btw, can paste the blog link here?

well... I am glad I wont be the first one... just can imagine the headlines, so and so brought the h1n1 to malaysia/sitiawan... it goes to show, one can only lay the plans. We thought Sept 2008 might be questionable, May 2009 looks very lively in Perak too...

Welcome back to M'sia Monay.. Hope you have time to drop by the capital city ..

You know the 2 ladies I want meet in the Forum are CC and you.. but apparently the time is still not ripe yet !!

And sorry Doc Alfred, I didn't go to CTA1 last Thursday cause my Sis in Segari has gone to Spore to take care of her grandkids... and my son who went to Pangkor for a camp wanted to follow the bus back to KL instead of going back with the parents..

So I spent 3 days in Taiping.. enjoying trekking Maxwell, frolicking in the waterfalls, hashing on Thurs evening and meeting up with old flames !!

No Foochow food ! But I can look forward to some Kong Pians tommorow from someone who has just came back from CTA1 !
