I always have the impression that caves in M'sia have a lot of Guano.

Guano?
Don't know anything about that. But I can tell you, the stalagmite and stalagtide is nothing compare to the mammoth cave in Perth. Somemore, got so many bat's shit. But I can tell you, it is full of adventurous. The rocks climbing, sloops, river crossing... etc, etc, you name it, they have it.

Depends what you like, Dino. If you are like me (like to makan), then Penang will be a very place to go to. If you like seaside, then Club Med Cherating is my recommendation. Of course Kota Kinabalu in Sabah is good for diving (with its coral) and Mt.Kinabalu.
So basically either jungle or seaside....... or food eh???

So.. I used to frequent Khoo's holiday resort in pangkor.. go fishing. :)
I guess Sitiawan is quite a good place for vacation. Pangkor also not bad come to think of it.
lastime, my parents used to take us to pulau redang and do intensive snorkeling - speedboat from reef to reef for 4 days straight! waaah! good times, man...

i highly recommend it, dino. am thinking of planning my honeymoon around this in may but donno if my guy will be able to take the intensive boat + snorkel action i'm dreaming about! :D
I know Ausman and JCWong use to go snorkeling in one of those islands. Not sure if they still do it or not.

i got asthma la - doctor say NO to scuba unfortunately, takut got asthma attack while diving and if must surface quickly without equalizing pressure in lungs and breathing passages, may cause tissue damage to the lungs when the air expands la. showed me the math of 33 feet=2 atmosphere pressure and what that can do to my lungs - scared la...better be safe than sorry. must stick to snorkeling for now

Sila, good news... nowadays got those space age helmets that you can wear and go down into the sea... no need to worry for compression/decompression... you can still enjoy the underwater world...

i've been 2 clubmed twice. 3d2n is exactly enough. anything more than that will be too boring.
there are archery, trapeze, wall climbing etc...
the best part is the food. glorious food. italian, french, japanese, korean, malaysian etc... free flow of wine, beer and other drinks.

Tasik Kenyir - Fishing haven. Damn peaceful and quiet. Been there 3D2N. Feel like coming home on the second day.
Pulau Redang - Snorkelling and "sight seeing" haven. Been there 3 times. Still have the urge to go.
Sipadan - Only dream of going. Abu Sayaf territory. Diving haven.
Desaru (Johor) - Been there once. Can forget about it.
Pulau Tioman - O la la. Can do.
Teluk Batik, Teluk Sekedir and Pulau Pangkor - All time favorite though nothing exotic.
Pulau Langkawi - Only for "kedekut" people. Duty free mah.
But Melaka and Pulau Pinang still the best - Makan haven.
Gunung Tahan, Gunung Ledang, Gunung Kinabalu - Ask Ruby Hong. She conquered them all. No sweat. O yes, one more Ungku Busu hill in Lumut is best for starters.
Actually mana mana pun boleh because MALAYSIA BOLEH!
sitiawan got diving tempat ? this is new!

Who?? :D Yeah, you are right. But, I couldn't resist not going to such a beautiful place. Anyway, I saw a lot of coast guard people patrolling around and there was also a small navy post where i stayed. I felt pretty safe. I found out that there were more Philipino than M'sian living around that area.

aiyo, lilian, you must learn to swim. missing out on SO much. plus if you're snorkeling, don't really need to learn to swim. just have to relax in the water, breathe properly through the snorkel, and you'll float (esp in sea water).
my friend has been entertaining his former college friends (kwai lohs) around malaysia - i will look up his journals and give some more suggestions of what he liked/didn't like etc.

3d2n will cost only ~USD200 excluding transport which means u have to make your way there with some out of place and missing signboards.
activities are organized but you can also organise your own like football, tennis, telematch etc...
of course, if you prefer to stay in your room throughout the 3d2n, it's ok also.

Sila, you don't need a guide to canopy walk in FRIM, it's 10x easier than climbing Ungku Busu in Lumut...the canopy walk there is quite good, I'm not sure which is better the one in Poring (Sabah) or FRIM.
Things to do in Sabah - I highly recommend this state :
- Climbing Mt Kinabalu, or visit National Park)
- Hotwater Spring in Poring(National Park), canopy walk, rafflesia, tongkat ali
- Water rafting in Padas - best in Msia...and I didn't die :p
- Visit local markets or tamu...very cool experience
- Sukau - safari park or something (haven't been there)
- Sandakan - orang utan sanctuary (haven't been there)
- The islands off KK...I think Redang is much better
- Most importantly, the seafood is cheap and sedap...

- Hotwater Spring in Poring(National Park), canopy walk, rafflesia, tongkat ali
- Water rafting in Padas - best in Msia...and I didn't die :p
- Visit local markets or tamu...very cool experience - very cool indeed
- Sukau - safari park or something (haven't been there) - Probocis Monkey visits, Gua Gomantong (for bird nest, dem smelly)
- Sandakan - orang utan sanctuary (haven't been there) called Sepilok Sanctuary, Mile 12.5
- The islands off KK...I think Redang is much better - go south Sabah, the best
- Most importantly, the seafood is cheap and sedap...try Kuching, better, cheaper
Additional comments in Miki's quote above... :D

Hmmm... sounds real good. Regarding the seafood, I agree with miki. Try the one opposite Promenade Hotel, KK. Fresh and reasonable price. After that, proceed to The Beach Club for some drinks (and noisy music, of course). If lucky, can get some babes. Up to individual skill. :)
The restaurant opposite Promenade is expensive-lar... try the restaurant beside Promenade... cheap & good... dem a lot of people also....
Warning... dun eat food at the waterfront... expensive & tasteless...

Swipe credit card, then claim company, not expensive mah.:)

You can try Pulau Perhentian or Pulau Lang Tengah... both are excellent in the East Coast...
However, since you have GBP, you can go Sipadan Island.... :D
