i am currently using webbit but comparitively to stremyx, webbit is expensive. RM98 for 448 connection. streamyx now RM88 for 1MB.
Jaring Broadband URL

dem! it's unstable... the entire jaring gateway was down for a couple of hours. it's much slower at night than in the afternoon. oso, the dem receiver is very sensitive - need to adjust position like tv aerial...
my initial euphoria has diminished 100 x - but still better than dialup i guess...

FYI, for streamyx home user, the minimum required time for the technician to come over to your house incase of any dispute is 3 days. This is our customer complain department in malaysia.

in malaysia, wireless means wireless from base station to the wireless port (a little device that you can put anywhere you want at home)... from wireless port to laptop/computer, you have to use use a cable... canggih huh?

unless u do what i do... connect the cat5 from the wireless modem to a wireless router.... and i can use from anywhere in my house (provided your laptop got wireless card la)
i can even be typing this message while sitting on a toilet bowl!! haha
anyway, wireless router (4 or 6 port) nowadays quite cheap, also more than 1 person can use it at one time.

Also makes more sense coz all 3 laptops in the house has wireless card...

just subscribe to Streamyx. Bought a DSL modem but after plugging them into the phone jack, the DSL indicator is continously blinking away. Called the help line but they can't do much except to send someone over and charge me RM50 for the installation....I think this is a set-up on their end....anyone can help me on this??

The ethernet connection indicator is ok. The telekom person told me dat i can jus plug the modem into the phone jack and look at the DSL indicator. He actually ask me to try plugging into all the 3 phone jacks to see whether any of them worked...but sadly all3 lines are aso blinking....
anyway, will try ur recommendation. Thanks.

Try calling Streamyx helpline instead of Telekom - 1-300-88-9515/03-78036323. They should come over to your house since you have just subscribed to Streamyx. There shouldn't be any blinking lights. Good luck.
(*sigh... man is not good at talking. I know you will not get things your way)

I'm sorry I can't help you with more. My modem, rented from tmnet, is a USB modem from 2 years ago. No one, not even their own tech support people can help me with it. I have to cari solution myself if something goes wrong.
My conversation with them usually goes something like this:
Them: "Please describe your modem."
Me: "It's a USB modem, communicates with computer via USB cable. There is a phone line in jack at the back of the modem, and a phone line out from the modem to the phone."
Them: "You use a splitter, right?"
Me: "The modem itself is a splitter."
Them: "..."
Me: "The phone line goes into the modem and then goes to the phone."
Them: "But where is your splitter?"
Me: "It's a USB Modem!!!"
Them: "A what what??"
Me: "@#$%!!! You people gave it to me!!!!!"
(Actually happened, not a joke. :D)

haha...Hisham....i know how u feel....I called them like 3 times and they like ask me the same questions over and over again....somemore I hv to wait for like 10 mins before they attended to me...
They keep on asking me to remove the splitter from the phone jack and disconnect all my other phone lines.
Really, I guess I hv no choice but to ask them to come and have a look... :(
