First of all, an anagram is an re-arrangement of letters of a word / name into another phrase of word.

Example, an anagram for THE MONA LISA might be AH! NOT A SMILE?

yes, but it didn't just shift from A->B, B->C...
the key code help to know how it was shifted..

e.g. if keycode is JULIUS CAESAR, the then shift is as follows:

A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z
J U L I S C A E R B D F G H K M N O P Q T V W X Y Z

this type of shift is rather obvious once the code is know...
stick in the key, then type in all letters not involved in key...
so one way to confuse people further is by not type letter in order from beginning...
instead, it continues from the last letter in the key code... i.e. as follows:

J U L I S C A E R T V W X Y Z B D F G H K M N O P Q

i've used the simple version shift...
now all you need is break the key code...

While waiting for Alk's answer, let me explain Caeser's shift code:

1. Start with a keycode. Example, let's assume the keycode is
KOCHUN

2. Eliminate any duplicate letters from the keycode. Since, there are no
duplicate letters, keycode is still KOCHUN

3. Append all the missing alphabets from the keycode to the end of the
keycode. It becomes KOCHUNBDEFGIJLMPQRSTVWXYZ

4. Finally use this keycode in a translation table
K -> A
O -> B
C -> C
H -> D
U -> E
.
.
Z -> Z

5. Solve the encrpyted message with the translation table

You need the keycode to form the translation table so that you can translate the coded message.

Without the correct keycode, there is no way to translate a coded message into its proper message.

In other words, to break the coded message, you need to figure out the keycode. That is the challenge. Then follow the steps I've shown earlier.

So, out of these 4 steps:

1. Keycode: HIJACKQUEEN

2. Remove duplicate letters: HIJACKQUEN

The real challenge is figuring out what the keycode is. The remaining steps
are straight-forward. You need a hint to find out the keycode.

i recommend the book by simon singh called the code book...
darn interesting, and it's hard to break the codes in the exercise pages he gave!

1. This is relatively easy, painter is Sandro Botticelli

2. Keycode is Botticelli

3. This part level of difficulty is 9.5/10! No clues on what vegenere cipher is!
Anyway, after some research on the net, I came up with a funny answer:

that's excellent work! and yes, that's how vegenere shift work...
it's like a caeser shift, just using keycode in different single shift lines...
and on the extra, for any art lover, once you get botticelli...
the uffizi answer is easy to get, even without cracking the code...

i'll go home tonight... if got time, will type out the codes in simon singh's book...
i've just got that book recently and finished reading it not so long ago either..
haven't got a chance to crack his codes, so you can help!! :)

it was belaso who created it based on caesar's shift, but after he died, it was left to puzzle people for years until vigenere rediscover it... hence the attributiong to vigenere...
