Most members would have notive the forum going down due to database problems recently. Unfortunately, we're hosted on a shared account where our website co-exists with many other websites on the same server (it's very much cheaper this way). Whenever some other website cause the database to go down (or when the server administrator performs some maintenance work), our forum also goes down.
There's nothing much I can do but to highlight the issue to the hosting service provider. And since, we're not paying them much $$$, I cannot whack them too much.
I don't think it's intolerable at the moment. However, we'll monitor the situation and move to a better host if we need to. The only problem is that we may not be able to port 100% to the new host. I guess we'll worry about that when the time comes.
