i'm not sure what my christmas/new year's plans are... at the moment i'm just focussing on surviving. just got back from a camp a couple of days ago, battling with a runny nose that threatens to evolve into a cough. and i have an assignment due in a few days time for the part-time masters program i'm in, oh dear.

still have one more camp on after christmas. that's the one i'm main speaker for. how to enjoy christmas like this?!? sigh =P

if i'm in kl at christmas-time [i might be in penang, that's where The Wife is from], i'd be glad to have old friends to celebrate with... =)

yay! i got 3 kakilang to makan besar de... not counting sis cuz she not big eater. haha...guess wat? sis won the vote for chilli's, i won the vote for setting a weekend date, and we both just invite anyone n see who turn up. hehe...

so here's the plan - Sunday, 30th Dec lunch at Uncle Chilli's at KLCC at 12pm. Confirmed is myself, sis, hsemate. Anyone welcome to come join us. The prob is Chilli's don't take reservations, u gotta turn up & wait to be shown to a table. Also, they do not really cater to big groups cuz table arrangements are for 4-5 ppl each. So, if u don't mind these annoying details, come hungry... come very very hungry... :D

1) Annalaksmi - indian restaurant at midvalley boulevard where u go in & eat like buffet & just pay any amt as offering... incredible concept huh??

2) Carl's Jr - western burger chain near GSC at top floor midvalley, serves humongous sized burgers & stuff... only for the hungry & daring!

converted to dvd but the quality is pretty bad, very blur and grainy, the start of the video was when i was 3 years old in the naval base. That long ago, 22 years old.

hullo everyone. as it turns out, i did end up in penang for christmas... and i didn't sleep on boxing day because i was preparing the powerpoint slides and various paraphernalia for my sessions at the camp... that was tiring. but with God's help, all went well... =P

but sadly, i missed the reunions. and i will miss the CNY reunions too, cos i'll be spending em in my uncle's house in JB...=(

the pics were nice though =)

as for the along case, they won't disturb u la... they only target their debtors.

this weekend, i will be in alor setar and penang... yeah, more travelling. so, won't be able to butt in on ah boh n lavanya at kl central...

so BOH....sure great to meet up! =D u sure nobody booked u for the weekend ;)

haven wrote yet...but after much tot, i m gonna write to management n oso a leter to star. not tat i m still pissed abt it now tat i have learnt to live in present....but sometimes injustice has to be made noise abt.

MP has this steamboat buffet. okay...so maybe we are a bunch of kampungfied morons, but the oni sign ter was (wastage ? gm = rm ?)
i go ter abt 1ce a mth...but norm my frenz order ala carte too like me & we usually dine 'out'.

first time sat 'inside' at the buffet place with my grp of malay frenz we went ter to kinda have jamuan perpisahan for this gal who'll leave soon...1st time taking her there. they had the steamboat. i opted for ala carte + drink due to my non-strict vegetarian issue. the waitress told me i cant take steamboat stuff (u tak boleh rasa steamboat punya makanan) in that case. so settle lar....i didnt take it...jus look look see see wif frenz ma, coz this 1 pair of buddies we r tryin to matchmake - we left them at the table alone *wink*

while dining i did try some seaweed and a strand or 2 of noodles from the steamboat & help my fren scoop out food with chopsticks.

i had to leave earlier for another appointment. my fren was sending me....at the counter we were in for a rude shock! they charge steamboat for 5 people!!! so mine was ala carte + steamboat. wat rubbish!!!

i explained to them its a mistake...and they went like the staff lots of us saw u eating, even after tge waitress explained u cant taste the food. holy angel!! i didnt think they were spying on us like tat....plus 'rasa' i took it figuratively as in cant take the food. told her she shud have explained IF I EVEN TOOK A BITE OF DSTEAMBOAT STUFF I WOULD HAVE TO PAY WHOLE AMOUNT!
demanded to see manager. not around...the supervisor fellow (who actually recognized me as quite a regular) finally after 20-30mins disagreement, charged me RM7 n i reluctantly paid (coz didnt wanna keep my other fren who had bought movie tix waiting) & left severely disappointed with them, woving to myself nvr am i going to that place again!

i alwyas go ter to teman my buddies who love tat place....i luv the atmosphere too, thou food okay lar...a bit pricey. for company's sake & ambience...i dun mind occasionally la.

but wat pissed me was they were saying this has happened few times but end up ppl will pay. and the cashier gal went like 'biasalah...customer cuba curi makan' - this was too much!! i jus stared at her....me a professional, n i dun have to steal food. its their bloody policy & unclear instructions.
i told them to put up a BANNER to clarify tat even a bite from wat a fellow diner took from the buffet is considered as another INDIVIDUAL's buffet set.
and they cud have always but in & told me i'd be charged wen they saw me eating...wic they didnt, the gal told me wen i was orderin ni.

yet to write the letters...muz do tonite lar.

yup, u guessed rite. she's been feeling a certain unwelcome presence since a couple yrs ago. its really weird cuz altho i believe her, i cant feel or see a damn thing so its hard to understand how she feels about it.

at 1st, its just a uneasy feeling of sumtin watching n following her around d hse, then it progressed to feelings of menace n evil directed at her, then she started seeing black shadows of a small boy crouching in a ceiling corner of her room looking down at her as she slept or white silhoutte of teenage girl with long hair floating out of her room thru d wall n disappeared into d kitchen

sumtimes wen we're just chatting or watching tv in living room, she'll suddenly turn around n say dat a shadow is watching us just a few feet behind us, i turn to look but nvr saw anytin altho she insists its still there. a few times wen she was in my room with me, she noticed a shadow lingering just outside my door but it nvr came into my room altho its staring in at us.

once, a group of her uni frens came over to hv drinks n chat in the living room while i was studying in my room. later she told me a shadow actually floated from d kitchen n stopped right in front of one of d guys n stare at him for some time. she didnt mentioned it to him cuz dunwan scare him but she felt weird looking n talking to d guy through d shadow.

altho my room is just next to hers n i spend time in her room as well, there's alot of theories fm frens on why it bothers her n not me :
- some ppl are 'sensitive' while others are blur sotong?
- some ppl hv aura that 'attract' these things while others dont?
- she picked up n brought home sumtin not 'clean' like an old coin?
- im more 'religious'?
- im lucky?

haven wrote yet...but after much tot, i m gonna write to management n oso a leter to star. not tat i m still pissed abt it now tat i have learnt to live in present....but sometimes injustice has to be made noise abt.

MP has this steamboat buffet. okay...so maybe we are a bunch of kampungfied morons, but the oni sign ter was (wastage ? gm = rm ?)
i go ter abt 1ce a mth...but norm my frenz order ala carte too like me & we usually dine 'out'.

first time sat 'inside' at the buffet place with my grp of malay frenz we went ter to kinda have jamuan perpisahan for this gal who'll leave soon...1st time taking her there. they had the steamboat. i opted for ala carte + drink due to my non-strict vegetarian issue. the waitress told me i cant take steamboat stuff (u tak boleh rasa steamboat punya makanan) in that case. so settle lar....i didnt take it...jus look look see see wif frenz ma, coz this 1 pair of buddies we r tryin to matchmake - we left them at the table alone *wink*

while dining i did try some seaweed and a strand or 2 of noodles from the steamboat & help my fren scoop out food with chopsticks.

i had to leave earlier for another appointment. my fren was sending me....at the counter we were in for a rude shock! they charge steamboat for 5 people!!! so mine was ala carte + steamboat. wat rubbish!!!

i explained to them its a mistake...and they went like the staff lots of us saw u eating, even after tge waitress explained u cant taste the food. holy angel!! i didnt think they were spying on us like tat....plus 'rasa' i took it figuratively as in cant take the food. told her she shud have explained IF I EVEN TOOK A BITE OF DSTEAMBOAT STUFF I WOULD HAVE TO PAY WHOLE AMOUNT!
demanded to see manager. not around...the supervisor fellow (who actually recognized me as quite a regular) finally after 20-30mins disagreement, charged me RM7 n i reluctantly paid (coz didnt wanna keep my other fren who had bought movie tix waiting) & left severely disappointed with them, woving to myself nvr am i going to that place again!

i alwyas go ter to teman my buddies who love tat place....i luv the atmosphere too, thou food okay lar...a bit pricey. for company's sake & ambience...i dun mind occasionally la.

but wat pissed me was they were saying this has happened few times but end up ppl will pay. and the cashier gal went like 'biasalah...customer cuba curi makan' - this was too much!! i jus stared at her....me a professional, n i dun have to steal food. its their bloody policy & unclear instructions.
i told them to put up a BANNER to clarify tat even a bite from wat a fellow diner took from the buffet is considered as another INDIVIDUAL's buffet set.
and they cud have always but in & told me i'd be charged wen they saw me eating...wic they didnt, the gal told me wen i was orderin ni.

yet to write the letters...muz do tonite lar.

so sorry about not going to dat cute cafe, i realised too late its not halal, dats why we ended up at steven's corner. food was good but wat with 4 hungry hantus, it's all gone pretty fast so no pix :( mal+prescilia+lava hv different types of tosai while i had spicy nasi lemak kambing. service was okok cuz d waiter didnt take notes n keep forgetting our orders.

Hie all! Now ni i stumbled upon this though heard earlier Mal announced to entire forum :eek: tat i got the virus!

Other than some physical scars...I was back in action since last Monday. damaged suffered is losing 6days of my precious 10 working days off in this O&G posting lorrrr... sob sob. As if HOs are not human beings...we're not entitled to MCs.

On voting....yeah lor! I was appalled that even so many of my colleagues, 1 MO (as far as I know) aint registered voters...OMG, the degree of nonchalance, among professionals even - sad sad *shake heads*

I impulsively decided to go back S'wan after work yesterday as Ipoh was getting too lonesome on a halfday working weekend....hopped onto 2pm bus, voted in good ole ACS Sitiawan, chill out with parents at home, and back on the 730pm bus. And i thought the daredevil within me was dying....:p

Well, I bot a simple fondue pot set with little tealights. Pot is filled with special fondue melted choc and little tealights are lighted under d pot to keep it warm. Wide selection of cut fruits & snacks are served with sticks to dip in soft choc & enjoy! Cooling drinks will be served to balance heaty throats.

Alert! High pix potential so those not coming gonna be soooo jealous wen u see pix later ya! :p

Games?

I bot a new game called UNO Twist and played it with sis & frens, it was sooooooooo fun!! Its for 2-6 pax and requires more focus and fast reflexes than the standard UNO card game. I recommend this for lots of laughter & fun (not to mention some curses & dagger stares). Hahahaaaa...

hmmmm... arnee & james (if he's coming) will be driving so transport from lrt (wangsa maju is nearest) is not a prob. As for accommodation, i hv a spare room (my hsemate moved out) but it's a small room with single bed so im afraid it's not suitable for a married couple like urself & chen may. :(

my frens are always welcome here so if u dun mind, u can hv d small room or bunk in d living room, i hv spare mattresses/pillows/blankets. actually d living room is very nice & cooling at night with d balcony door wide open.

How does it work?

Well, I bot a simple fondue pot set with little tealights. Pot is filled with special fondue melted choc and little tealights are lighted under d pot to keep it warm. Wide selection of cut fruits & snacks are served with sticks to dip in soft choc & enjoy! Cooling drinks will be served to balance heaty throats.

Alert! High pix potential so those not coming gonna be soooo jealous wen u see pix later ya! :p

Games?

I bot a new game called UNO Twist and played it with sis & frens, it was sooooooooo fun!! Its for 2-6 pax and requires more focus and fast reflexes than the standard UNO card game. I recommend this for lots of laughter & fun (not to mention some curses & dagger stares). Hahahaaaa...

well guys...had some sort of unwanted adventure last nite!! after a splashing good wknd of escapede in kl wen i was feeling rejuvenated, and ready to take over the world...yeap, i was in very hi spirits as i left pudu raya!

thanx to the Great God tat all of us were unharmed and nothing worse happened. in fact all us passengers appeared cool n calm thou may have been dying within. but pity parents/family & frens who were dead worried, esp wif no network in Slim River tool booth area.

but some things were realli irritating...imagine we were collecting signatures n drafting out the letter of complaint while stranded at this eatery in slim river! tatz young Malaysians, eh ;)

here's part of the letter of complaint i am working on. damn pissed coz i finished it...but suddenly duno wer the doc disappeared to...i was 'saving' it every few seconds-mins once....sighhhh but does this mean i shud juz abort this project? esp wen i felt unwell upon reaching hostel at close to 4am...and threw up (muz b tat stupid food i had) & juz slept thru and had to take EL today!

worse of all was had a row wif mom over this. as she was telling how i should travel early. is it my fault if 530 bus left at 8 and decided to break down at 10pm!??? of coz i shud have notified once back hostel, but with a spinning head and vomiting, tot of whether i cud go to work in 2hrs plus, and who shall i ask to take over my call...tatz the last thing i was concerned abt, esp wen 1hr ago i had already messaged saying i am on the way back to ipoh again in a bus.

yea ya...i am to b blamed, shud have informed parents. BUT if tatz the case abt travelling in daytime...i shud juz rot in ipoh for all others may care for, thanx to all my burnt leave in O&G due to unforeseen unfortunate circumstances!

it is NOW tat my mood is realli spoilt! :mad: i was even optimistic n hopeful wen stuck in a rot hrs ago. as up to that point, i was always surrounded by people the past 2days....

sigh. hate this wen u have to shoulder the blame!

LETTER OF COMPLAINT:
KURNIA BISTARI (NO SYARIKAT: 220503-X) BUS AFL 5505 BREAKDOWN INCIDENT at PLAZA TOLL SLIM RIVER

Dear Sir/Madam,
We, the passengers of Kurnia Bistari bus (No Plate: AFL 5505) from Pudu Raya, Kuala Lumpur to Tapah & Medan Gopeng, Ipoh on the 30th March 2008, would like to lodge an official report in reference to the above matter.
The bus which departed from Pudu Raya at 8pm with 22 pasengers was originally scheduled to leave at 5.30pm, costs RM13.40 as stated on the official ticket. Most of us bought our tickets from agents who overcharged us between RM16.00 – RM 20.00. As we are working or studying the next day, a Monday, we bought the tickets of the earliest bus available although overpriced (supposedly 5.30pm).
After a long wait and excuses ranging from accidents and bus breakdown, the bus finally arrived at 7.30pm, waited for more passengers to fill up, and finally departed at 8.00pm from Terminal Pudu Raya. Our overpriced tickets bought from the unscrupulous ticketing agents was exchangd for the official Kurnia Bistari bus tickets once we were aboard.
At 10pm, the bus stopped at Plaza Toll Slim River, a few metres from the toll booth and came to a halt. The driver attempted a few times in vain to restart the engine, all that Encik Megat, our part-time bus driver could manage to do was reverse the bus to the roadside. The anxious passengers were left in dark as he didnt explain to us the status of our situation. Most of us alighted the bus and had to personally ask him, to which we were told he had contacted the company.
As a group, we were standing on the roadside in front of the bus. We were appalled at the response of the “peronda-PLUS” van who were only concerned about clearing the way for other roadusers, and even had the guts to suggest n jest to some of us that we ‘head back to KL’. No empathy or kind words did we receive. Half the passengers were still in the bus, including one 9-months pregnant mother, and a young girl who was down with fever.
Besides that, a few empty buses passed by heading towards the eatery just after the Slim River exit, turning down our bus driver’s plea to help send us to Medan Gopeng. All this in the darkness of the night (past 10pm) right in front of the PLAZA TOLL SLIM RIVER & their administrative offce, and no toll booth operator or officers approached us.
Is this the kindness & friendliness of Malaysians?? To a group of people who ranged from college/university students to professionals, to foreigners. All of us who had work or classes to attend the next morning, from as early as 6.30am.
Some of our handphones had ‘no network connection’. All the more why we couldnt ask for help from friends back in Ipoh or Tapah. And there were no taxis available for us to board, besides the fact that we were about 1 hour away from Medan Gopeng.
Finally at around 11.15pm, Encik Megat, our bus driver suggested we all take a stroll to the nearby eatery. A kind bus driver gave some of us a lift, as we mainly requested a ride for the sake of the pregnant mother & the ill girl. And there we waited, with our luggages.
At 11.40pm Encik Megat informed us that the company is sending a replacement bus from KUALA LUMPUR!! After almost 2 hours of waiting, all that we could do was to wait further. We didnt dare to sleep, in the middle of nowhere. As a group, we total strangers became friends who were supportive of each other. Thanks to some kind bus drivers who had a few empty seats, and some of whom had their families to come fetch them, some of us managed to get a lift to our destinations from as early as 1.30am.
We are deeply agrieved at the fact that:
1/ The company did not send a bus from Ipoh/Tapah branch. Considering it is only 1hour away, we do not see a reason as to why it could not have been arranged for.
2/ The bus driver has very poor PR, as he did not take prompt action in informing us of the breakdown, and some might have been misled to think that we just stopped for a short break. It was us passengers who actually updated those who remained in the bus as to the latest updates.
3/ The attitude of PLUS staffs who did NOTHING to ease our grievances. The least the could have done was to offer some kind words, and given us a place to rest in the office.
4/ To top it all off, we had actually paid MORE THAN the original ticket price, to be stranded.

As such, we would all like to claim reimbursement for our grievances and lost encountered during this breakdown incident, and an official apology from Kurnia Bistari transport company.
We sincerely hope these kind of unfortunate incidents do not recur, and that all bus companies service the bus regularly, and train their drivers n communication and crisis management skills.

Unfortunately both our partners are not interested so we hv to choose 'single' dances. We thought of line dancing or hip hop but i tried d former and dislike d latter, so she decide to try something more energetic like belly or salsa dancing.

We will probably have a simple dinner. Location? I haven't had the time to think unless you want to give Aladdin Restaurant at Kelana Jaya a try It is located behind Giant KJ and it serves mainly Chinese Muslim cuisines and also Cantonese, Hokkien and vegetarian dishes. Ala carte available. For RM 15 or less, you can have a decent meal - ala carte. Chefs are mainly from mainland China.

ermmm.. i won't comment on his looks but he already is attached. i'll be there on Thursday.. so excited.. reach kl thursday night, parents coming up friday so will be able to spend some time with them till i leave to penang on Sunday 10th night, but will be back in Kl again on tuesday 12th.
