also, if you have one, do you use it regularly?

plus usually social networking is at more personal level rather than work level...
i'd bet a lot of people would not want a business associate to see what's on their profiles...

linked in is a professional network - you can make contacts, find jobs, or hire, etc. etc. i belong and have been sort of networking a little, my contacts tend to be people i used to work with, the software vendors, etc. it's cool though - it's like 6 Degrees of Separation for professionals ;)

so facebook does that quite nicely to get connected to my peers...

Been long so long that I though I might not be able to log on again. Man...didn't miss anything? Anyway yeah pretty much everyone got Friendster in Malaysia. Highest percentage of users come from Philipines, but thing is in here when I mention Friendster they go like what's that? Aussies like Myspace and Americans prefer Facebook. However Myspace is currently with the most amount of users. Nowdays I don't 'play' with Friendster, well ocassionally i go around and check my frens out but apart from that I don't find it all that hype anymore. If you check on Danah Boyd's work writing on Friendster then you will realize how that it is such old news and already dead. I dunno maybe that when you have the community around that still supports it then it will stay strong such is the case back home. Am on Multiply but that's strictly for my classes and Facebook which I find more meaningful then Friendster. Oh yeah did you know that Friendster was made by a gay guy back in 2004 because he didn't like match.com? It was first very popular in the gay network in New York and then came over to our South East Asian network. I swear am not making this shit up. check it out.

and only people linked directly to me can see anything at all...
so these are people who already know me quite well in real life...
in fact, i am not even searchable, and not addable...

but some things are fun, some not quite your cup of tea...
you can delete the application that's not to your liking... ;)

there's a link there for privacy, so you can review yours through that...

so the person can see only what you allow them to see....

just don't look at that picture lor...
you can also specify to get less info about that person in your news feed...
that way you won't be informed much of his/her activities...

in that case, go to your news-feed preferences...
and put that person under the list "less about these friends"...
unless activities are very dry among all your other friends...
the activities of this person will not show up on your feed...
which means you won't know what's up with him/her...
(but you don't want to anyway, so it's not a problem, right?)
