Hahahahah.......results have been rather weird:

Peter Gade, the Great Lanky Dane bowed out in Round 1 to Dutchman Dicky Palyama (so much lower ranked!)

Roslin H ran out of steam in the rubber game against Lin Dan in Round 1.

Hafiz H also ran out of steam in straight games to Sony Dwi Kuncoro in Round 2

As for now, these are the dangermen left in the fray:

Lin Dan, Chen Yu, Chen Jin and Bao Chunlai (CHN)
Kenneth Jonassen (DEN) - has age REALLY caught up with him YET??
Sony Dwi K (INA)
Shoji Sato (JPN) - I guess that he has just come back from some kind of hiatus, won all his qualifying round matches (unlike the once-injured Wong Choong Hann) and had quite a great run-up by scalping his opponents into the Quarterfinals
AND, of course our dear Lee Chong Wei - BETTER HE THROW OFF HIS JAGUH KAMPUNG TAG FOR GOOD!!!!

Let's see how far can Wong Mew Choo in All-England? Semi-final or final?

if she wins, will she get the Rm1 million promised by the former BAm president?

from bam or his own pocket?
Datuk Elyas mentioned this when he was still the president of BAM. That time, the women's team was so weak unlike now. Getting pass first round was already a great achievement then:eek:

Hopefully our doubles pair or KKK and TBH will bring back those glorious days

LATEST UPDATE(S): KKK and Tan Boon Heong are in the semis currently squaring up with tough Danes Jens ERIKSEN & Martin LUNDGAARD HANSEN. CHIN Eei Hui & WONG Pei Tty are also squaring up in the womens' doubles' semis with 2nd seeded YANG Wei & ZHANG Jiewen.

BIARLAH JALUR-JALUR MALAYSIA GEMILANG TERUS!!!

But then, Lee Chong Wei and Wong MC are oredi out in the QF's leh! And so is Kenneth Jonassen and the rest of the QF'ists to the hands of the mighty Chinese - unsurprisingly :(

OK now the verdict is this: Lin Dan obviously outclassed the lanky Chen Yu in an obviously one-sided men's singles final in straight games while our new young guns Koo Kien Keat (KKK) & Tan Boon Heong (TBH) prevailed against the 2 LeeHom-wannabes, Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng of China in a relatively tight game also in straight sets 21-15 and 21-18. Worthy of mention is Chin Eei Hui and Wong Pei Tty who although lost to a Chinese pair in straight games, because Chin & Wong made history by being the first-ever Malaysian women's pair to enter the All-England semifinals. Odysseus, JC and I were sooooo dem thrilled at KKK and TBH's game display while we were at NKS just now (I was having dinner tho' :D ). And squaring up now are the Women's Singles with Pi Hongyan the "French escapee" versus Lin Dan's beau, Xie Xingfang. Women's Doubles of course shall have Chinese pairs, while mixed doubles are an All-England affair - so long, folks, see ya in next year's All-England!!
