Those children will grow up with a lot of emotional problem & insecurity.
People ask them "Where is your father?", they don't know how answer.
Most of the time the mother will not tell them the truth.

I think men & women must both be responsible for thier action,
In a lot of society they only blame & look down on women is they are pregnant before getting married.
IMHO, women cannot get pregnant with out a man.

I believe that a single parent can bring up a good kid. Not all kids brought up by a single mom turns out bad. If they can be happy with their lives doing what they do, i see nothing wrong with it. I think i rather have a single mom bringing up a good kid than a married couple bringing up brats. Personally, i've seen too many married couple screw up bringing up their kids for me to support the notion that only married couple can bring up good kids.

For the women to make this choice, i believe it is a norm for their society to have single parent. I believe the government and society in UK do not ostracize single mother but rather give them support.
My ex-boss from my parent company in UK once told us that his kids were the only ones in their class who have both parents. His wife even joked that maybe they should split up for a while in order that their kids will not be the odd on out.

single motherhood is pretty common here, and there is very good support for single mothers...
ONS indeed creates some problems, but responsibility still lies with both parties...
it takes a lot of courage and determination to become single mother following ONS...
namely, this is something unplanned and could affect the girl's live greatly...

while it's easy to perceive that dysfunctional child comes from incomplete family...
i believe that is only true for a minority of cases...
as dino pointed out, even if complete family, brats are really not something "good"...
besides, in situations where parents are married and obliged to stay together but unhappy...
that would have greater impact on their child's wellbeing compared to single parent family...
and i think those are the instances where things could go very wrong and very quickly...

not commenting on the single parent's skill or ability to bring up the kid...more on the concern of the kid...i dunno about the states..maybe i'm too ol' fahsioned or 'conservative' but thought it was universally accepted that it would be ideal for a kid to have both parents' upbringing unless under some circumstances like one parent passed away,divorced..etc
but certainly not for ONS!?!
wouldn't it be too much to have a child out of a ONS without mutual commitment n just for self pleasure?

For me personally, i think if a girl wants to fill her biological need to be a mother
and she can do it well, i see no problems at all. As i've said it from the start, if the women can be a good mother, i see nothing wrong. Unless she is using her child to gain financial and neglects the child, then i say no. I guess bottomline, we don't know these people personally or what their motives are. Again, as long as everybody is happy with their life, i see no problems with it. My dua kupang.

I think hoor.....irresponsible married couple can breed more children than these single mothers. Maybe the solution would be, if you want to have kids, single or married, you need to get psychologically evaluated no matter what. :squeeze:

As i've posted before, a famous example would be Madonna...she selected a man to be the father of her 1st child without having any romantic relationship with him . I think her main criteria was in the looks dept, and if i'm not mistaken, the condition was the baby must be a boy...but she ended up having a girl and she's loving her equally. Later Madonna had a 2nd child with her current husband, and there's just as happy with their life.

So the deduction is, if you're rich and famous, you can do just what you think is best for yourself. If you're a normal person as most of us are, what we should/ should not do are dictated by the society. Society is less critical towards what rich and famous people do, sad to say...that's my 2 kupang.

I have experience it(temporary single fatherhood,a short period) when my son was 14 months & my wife was working in France for 3 months.
Working all day, go back home clean him & feed him.
Night feeding & etc.
Weekend is with him.
No social life at at all.
Very tough life.

But the joy of holding him & be with my son is priceless.
