aw....
You scored 14 out of a possible 23
Not bad at all. You have a good grasp of the language's tricksier words, and only have a few blind spots.

yay i got 17!!
actually this kind of test is bad...
because too many words confuses people...
i'm sure if you just give the word to someone to spell...
then the person would get more corrects...

i don't think the bias is for american spelling...
guardian is a british newspaper publisher...
17
but i disagree with the stupid test bcos i still think it's "miniscule" not "minuscule" :p
i did a 50 word test like this for a job interview (with some iq testing as well) and they came out with my results and announce to their whole office that in all their years of recruiting no one had a perfect score and congratulated me on breaking the record. think it's useless cuz i didn't get the job tho
david represented the region in std 6 premier's spelling bee and came as runner up
(i think spelling is overrated cuz with word-processors we don't actually need to know how to spell)

i onli got 12 :( ... I am too spel-chek dependant.
actually i think it would have been possible to get 100% if it wasn't multiple choice - the confusion threw me. but if i wrote it out myself i woulda got it right - so i think most ppl fell for this too

most of us do speed reading but when we need to spell, then it takes a while to come up with the right one, soemtiems we tembak cuase we haev spel chek......jut lik taht emial tat was ciruclatng a whil bak....wher the whole pice was writen out mumbo jumbo and using our agakration....we managed to figure the content. :)
i got 20 right - and of the 3 mistakes, 2 were from multiple choice confusion (i agree with hannah, if i wrote out the words i would get them right) but 1 was a true error... ugh.. :o

wow, well done sila!!!! *clap clap clap clap clap clap clap*
i totally agree, those multiple choices were confusing...
that's why i said, if just ask someone to spell, you're more likely to get it right!

aikkss....sakit jantung/ego :(
fell down on a couple of words, which if the Guardian is right, me & everyone else in the English-speaking world have been spelling wrongly for, like, ever!!!
they were "miniscule/ minuscule" and "irresistable/ irresistible"

but if you check out dictionary.com both miniscule/minuscule are acceptable
