OK, will try to get some pictures in the cockpit up in the AIR!
Give me some time. Always lazy to take pictures in the cockpit.
Most of the time only the stewardess will ask to take photos with them, in their camera of course.
Dun drool dude, wait till you see all the newspaper on the window in the cockpit. Trying to shield from the hot sun...hehe

With the tray table out it does look a bit uncomfy. The tray table can be stowed away anytime. So we do have lots of space in the cockpit. I dun have a wide angle lens camera, so the picture looks a bit small.

he's still with MAS, he had just flown back from Dubai when we spoke to him on the phone, remember? That was our first meet up. At the second one, after we came to pick you up at KLIA (Penang-KL), he was supposed to join us but had to fly too. I guess he's doing a lot of international flights now.

thanks! wow, all my flights were delayed except the US domestic. Took off from KL an hour late, arrived almost on time at Taipei, but had to get off the plane with all carry-on luggage and go thru' 2 security checks just to get on board again. And of course, an hour late in take-off. Late arrival in L.A. and only managed to get off the plane at 8pm instead of 6.30pm. I rushed to the immigration counters and was one of the first few there. Thought I'd have plenty of time to catch my 9.55pm connection.....I was wrong! My checked-in bag was the last batch that was sent out :squeeze: so by the time I got thru' customs, it was already 9.15pm. Sheesh, had to run to the next terminal whilst pushing my trolley of bags and trying not to run over people. :p Had a security guard help me cut the queue and do an express check-in and hit a long line at the security check...then almost ran all the way to the boarding gate. Phew! Passengers were just boarding...:D ...Ok, now, to get over jet-lag....

I feel out of breath just reading your adventure!!!

haha, officially, it is still summer. and it is still sunny and pretty warm here in CT. even the leaves are still green. and no, i'm not hibernating... yet! hehe....:p
hey, anyone in US know any cheap ground service for sending big packages/boxes? I sent a small light box containing documents to
my sis (5"x 4" x 2") thru' UPS Ground and it cost me $10! sheesh....
i'm stuffing 3 suitcases and a carry-on bag with kitchen stuff, all-in-one printer, bedding/pillows, floor lamps, etc. to bring to Ohio, cuz i really do not want to waste $$$ buying duplicates. But i do hate having to leave some kitchen appliances behind (although they're stored in Brian's).:crying: hmm.....

I just need some time to settle into the routine of attending classes, work, home and fun time....;) and of course, all the new seasons of my favorite tv shows have just started. :D watching Boston Legal now!

i try to go whenever i can...it's been a week since i last went...but i haven't been eating right either..... had this Problem set with 15 questions for my Statistics class that i spent all week to complete and didn't have time to cook, so it was "grab n go" food for meals - pizza, mac n cheese, sandwiches, burgers, etc. Actually stayed up til 4.15am this morning to finish up the last few questions since it was due at my 9am class! i think all the students in the class just want to strangle the prof, it's only 1 point per question but it takes an average of 40 hours or so just to complete all of them! So much calculating to do...aargggh! It's been such a bad week too - I had 23 papers to grade, a quiz on monday, a paper for the Wed. class, and lots of assigned reading to complete. :sad-2: i look like a panda - dark rings around my eyes! hope you're doing better! hmm, i don't think i'll be home for another 2 yrs or so....i will have to work in the summer...so no long break, except for christmas...which is when i'll be over at brian's.

hi there chin,
juz returned frm kl..short break..good thing curry turned out ok...took me some time to convert it into a receipe!
i didn't really 'measure' anything just more like agak-agak (instinct) cooking..so quite eager for honest feedback..:)
hope it wasn't too fiery for u n pete(esp pete?!)..anyway..u either need to cut down receipe by half for 2 (that receipe serves 4-6ppl btw) or since u have to go through all the trouble to cook it, eat whatever amt u can manage n freeze the remainder..curry'll will taste even better n will keep up to a month properly frozen...
alternatively, for lazies like me..cook up same amt of curry less chicken n potatos(enuf 4 1 serving), dish cooled curry sauce into zip lock bag, freeze. defrost in suitable amts(add in some water..otherwise sauce too thick), add chicky n potatos(par boiled)..voila..njoy!!

Yep, i'm partial to red too, but i have a $125 store giftcard - which means i only need to dish out about $75 at that particular store to get a pink one. Only the Apple stores/website sell the red :crying: i have a red sofa too! not to mention red boots and a red jacket! You know, I can't believe Apple took away the educational discount on ipods. They had them earlier this year.... It is getting really dull at the gym staring at the muted TVs - i haven't had time to shop for headphones to use on the cardio equipment either! :o but i did buy two nano cases already!

master's level was so much easier than this - now i'd have to agree with you, but i do get to do a lot of work in the comfort of my home, so that's a big plus point. i'm only in the office about 2-3 hours a week! but then again, yeah, it's work plus coursework - so no free time for me.

No leeer....I knew you would not want it because you wanted Red plus you have $125 BB gift cert plus you take all the effort not to get the dull regular colors. I think if i am not mistaken, it costs about $599 or so because Msians pay premium for stuff like this. The $200 ones are probably the fake HK ones.

hello! hello!
looks like lots of activity going on in the forum over the weekend.
Belle, curry was good. pete thought i took too long as i cooked it when i got home from work and by then we were both starving. and he had to wait an hour to get the curry. but it was definately better the next day.
to be honest, had trouble getting all the ingredients, so i threw some weird looking spices i got from india a while back. kind of popped and sizziled, so i figured it must be ok. smelled nice too.
i didn't weigh anything, like you, only agak agak. but adding lime at the end is good. brought out the flavour.
can i have the receipe for pepper chicken? (or something like that) and sambal prawns? please? am getting hungry as typing this! (only 10.30am here)

hehe..glad u liked the curry, despite the 'weird looking' spices that may have enhanched it further? :D
okie will post the black pepper rempah chicken, sambal prawns n ayam pongteh(nonya style fragrant chicken stew in tauchew, potatos n shitake mushrooms) asap... all these 3 dishes r easier to prepare esp the sambal prawns....
tips for bz cooks who njoy spicy m'sian fare...always have ground onions, garlic n cili giling in seperate air tight containers ever ready in ur fridge..just blend them in large batches...so u won't need to start frm scratch everytime u crave for homecooked curry
Eh Belle, whats chilli giling ah?? :squeeze:
belle_c
12-05-2006, 01:03 AM
cili giling (the one i use) is prepared ground fresh n dried chillies paste with some salt n tamarind mixture sold in little tubs..a perfect solution for lazy ppl like me who loathes cutting n peeling fresh n dried chillies!
however the latter option is of course the healthier one as it is free of preservatives...:)
dunno if u can get it there in the states..subtitute for fresh ground chilli powder..mixed with a little water to a paste...though there'll a difference in the after product..especially sambal prawns
So if i ommit this chili giling from the recipe, it mainly effect the spiciness of the food rite?

when i run out of chilli powder, i replace it with ground paprika for curries - not as spicy, but better than nothing. if you like it really spicy, i guess you can blend 1 or 2 habanero peppers (they're as hot as chili padi) with garlic, onions and ginger. jalapeno may work, but i find that habanero is hotter! however, for sambal udang, you could probably use sambal olek which is sold in some supermarkets in the international aisle...or in asian food shops.

sound advice frm christine tan..an expert cook...;)
belle_c
12-05-2006, 01:53 PM
but of course if u r hard working enuf..u can make ur own chili paste..u can get fresh n dried chillies frm there right? just blend equal amts of it with some water to a puree..add some salt..that's it...wouldn't recommend u gtg prepared sambal unless u know a certain recommended brand or something..sometimes too hot, salty, too much 'belachan' taste(yucky fishy smell.. )..etc.
that is why i don't buy prepared sauces for curries or sambals..prefer to make it frm scratch(w some shortcut methods)..can control the ingredients..
but then again maybe over there u gotta find subs..in that case ask christine tan..:)
