Think that night she is watching ninja turtles. They are back in TV. not in malaysia but in states la. :)
ah. that could be there way to go. let's see...what have i been watching...well really, it's only been cricket...
Rayhong
12-13-2004, 05:32 PM
ahhh that's where you went wrong... if you had watched more jimny cricket, then there's a myriad of animated avatars to choose from...
i love my cricket...wish i'd played it in high school...my one regret in life.
no idea yet. any suggestions? why did she choose Queen of the Turtles? never knew she was into turtles.
yo soy la reina de las tortugas!
anyway, i do like turtles. more the large kinds - penyu. in hawaii they are called "honu". also the large ones on the galapagos that live to a really old age - those are cool too. plus they can pull all their limbs and head into their shell and ignore the world. that's a nice thing to have at your fingertips, no?
really can't remember. my memory is like a sieve nowadays. come to think of it...it's probably always been like that...
confirmed! :p
always been like that. selective, too...
any idea where mak pui li is? last i heard she was in UK or something. how about shazreen or zaireen? and malim and azhar? any idea anyone?
no clue... sorry ray. i'm useless when it comes to contacts...
Nanda is in Johor, bigshot plant manager or something over there... Came back to sitiawan during Deepavali.
Azhar Zakaria is in Penang... bumped into him in Billion during Raya. Got his office number, no H/P number though...
Vickneswaran (Vicky aka Vignes) got married on 27th November 2004.
Myself (Sreenivas Naidu) - I live in PJ now...
hi sree! is your father now living back in sitiawan, neighbors with my mum?
d'you remember me, sree? anyway, welcome to the forum! good to hear from you.

Hey Hasila.... Of course i still remember you. You the one who told me to forget David Eddings and move on to Tolkien... back in Form 2!!!
Yes technically my parents still live in Sitiawan, Taman Pegawai. But they (and my dog) will moving to PJ in January. My parents want to be closer to their one grandkid - my younger sister got married and is already a mother now...
Where are you now? I know you're somewhere in the US...
i think she's in cincinatti. no idea where that is.
I don't remember ever calling you Sree, it's always been Sreenivas....Shree is the other one. Shree Vidya - where is she ? One by one I start to remember the names.
Hey, Sreenivas@T*r*nc*t you still in that fire alarm company?
i think she's in cincinatti. no idea where that is.
sree - euj is right i'm in cincinnati on weekends. it's in ohio. can always look it up on a map :)
my parents are still there in taman pegawai, but they are very much staying i think. my brother (who is the proud papa of my 1 nephew, the precious only grandchild) is in pandan indah (see Hisham - he's on this forum, he actually sent me the url for it) so my parents are out there every so often to go and thoroughly spoil my cute little nephew.
my father is totally into his koi fish now. you should stop by and say hi if you're in sitiawan. are your parents moving for good, or just to be close to the grandkid for a while? sree - i like your dancing avatar ;)
Hey Hasila.... Of course i still remember you. You the one who told me to forget David Eddings and move on to Tolkien... back in Form 2!!!
i forgot about that! i did borrow all your david eddings books even though i told you to read tolkien... are you still reading a lot of fantasy/sci fi?
dreamwh
12-14-2004, 12:32 PM
Not much of fantasy or sci-fi nowadays... the last one i read was Childhood's End by arthur c. clarke... that was in august i think. I mostly read my dad's collection now.
Where do you on weekdays then? I had a friend in Cuyahago Falls... thats in Ohio right? I think now he's in. Columbus..
cuyahoga falls, if i'm not mistaken is closer to cleveland than columbus. anyway, from cinci to columbus is about 2 hours drive straight north. from columbus to cleveland is another 2 hours drive straight north. so not that far, actually
if you want to read some cool sci fi/fantasy books, try Orson Scott Card, Jaqueline Carey, Matthew Woodring Stover (quite violent really) and Steven Brust (esp the Vlad Taltos series). i'm getting to the point where i go to the bookstore and just browse the fiction section and get some different things. i don't really read sci fi/fantasy as actively like last time. now got lots of varieties but still usually fiction lah. reading about real people and real things can be much too depressing.

I must introduce you two of my friends.... both of them real sci-fi/fantasy freaks. The guy introduced me to Ursula Le Guin in university and the girl likes some guy named Louis Master Bujold (i think). Me, i'm stuck at the third Elric (Moorcock) book, can't find the rest over here...
I'm now in the midst of completing my Tintin collection... costing me almost RM600!!! Father says I never grew-up... I tell him i had a deprived childhood

well i'm coming home in may so if you need some books let me know. i can buy and bring back. also did you know, amazon.com delivers to malaysia? i sent my parents books and movies via amazon. don't hold your breath waiting for me to get to the post office...
i've read 1 ursula le guin - pretty interesting stuff. haven't gotten into lois mcmaster bujold - too many "epic" types although i've heard good things about her. i have read some elric books but ages ago. can't remember much of it anymore... yaaaay tintin!!

woohooo!! i think it helps that the 92 thread titles are so general. we are still talking to each other and wondering where all our friends are and what people are up to, right?
what kind of "work" does she help you with?? ;)
what are you trying to insinuate? :) she does all the usual stuff a secretary does - answer my calls, return some of my calls, check my email, write my letters, help me with dry cleaning, transfer funds from my bank accounts...etc,etc...

how come we can get away on this thread with talking about everything besides the title and i get my chops busted in the avatar thread? it's the damn commies i tell ya...
i think for this one it helps that the title is "Where is Nguk Chu, Chin Ping & etc".
i think we fall under "& etc". how to snip like that?

"In 1978, 900 followers of cult leader Jim Jones committed suicide by drinking a grape-flavored drink laced with cyanide at their commune in Jonestown, Guyana. This drink is often said to have been Kool-Aid, and this popular misconception is so widespread that to "drink [someone's] Kool-Aid" and to be a "Kool-Aid drinker" has acquired the meaning of having been utterly deceived by someone to the point of destruction. In fact, the drink at Jonestown was Flavor Aid, a competitor of Kool-Aid."
