As much as I want to say nice things about England....its difficult after watching the game..I admit they were lucky with that goal but sometimes you need luck in the WC.

I felt that Gerrad should have played behind the strikers, he would have supplied some good passes to the Giant and the midget ( no offence:) )...

Rio looked a bit weak the back....Carragher would have been a safer option.

I totally agree with you about defoe. Dont know what Sven was thinking. Defoe is a more realiable bet than Walcot who has not even played a single game at the highest level. Guess as far as Sven was concerned, win or loose, he is leaving so team so might as well have some "fun" playing with the line up.

I must admit that England's performance today was totally unconvincing at all. I am totally disgusted with the way the whole England team with the exemption or Rooney. Lampard was the main culprit, missing so many clear chances. Lucky for a Beckham freekick did the trick to nick in 1 goal. If not, it was a total disaster to England hope to move on to the quarters.

I am not sure what was on Eriksson's mind. He could have brought in Lennon earlier for Beckham and could have subsituted Lampard and bring in Crouch.
