Germany, Germany above all,
Above everything in the world,
When always, for protection,
We stand together as brothers.
From the Maas to the Memel
From the Etsch to the Belt -
Germany, Germany above all
Above all in the world.
German women, German loyalty,
German wine and German song,
Shall retain in the world,
Their old lovely ring
To inspire us to noble deeds
Our whole life long.
German women, German loyalty,
German wine and German song.
Unity and law and freedom
For the German Fatherland
Let us all strive for that
In brotherhood with heart and hand!
Unity and law and freedom
Are the foundation for happiness
Bloom in the glow of happiness
Bloom, German Fatherland.
Germany, Germany above all*
And in misfortune all the more.
Only in misfortune can love
Show if it's strong and true.
And so it should ring out
From generation to generation:
Germany, Germany above all,
And in misfortune all the more.
hehehe.... that's the German National Anthem.... GO GERMANY!
Aik?? Kena hijack liao.... :p
To all Germany fans, England also EU mah... brader-brader lah... come support England... England win, EU win.. ;)

People try to equate him to Pele. That's the age when Pele won Brazil's first World Cup. Even Pele came out to defend his own record..... I still can't find a good reason to support them unless they play good footbal & stop talking about their gf, mistress, concubine...etc. Even the die-hard fans don't get drunk on british beer, they prefer imported beer.

i dunno why i support england, maybe firstly is because of the EPL
secondly i like their player especially beckham, rooney, lampard and gerard,
i feel they deserve at least a world cup victory :)

This is Big Boys World Cup la.... No some junior tournaments... He may get stage fright that can kill his career...... Remember what happened to Rai from Brazil - brother of Socrates. He was even made a captain on his first appearance in WC. Got stage fright and ended his career. Never heard of him since. This guy has played in big matches before.

Alka, in football, there is this thing called the 'selection process'. During the 'selection process', they play competitively to display their skills & talent. Thereafter, the players are selected based on speed, stamina, strength, skills, guts & merit. Even our MyTeam has certain guidelines to follow in order to qualify for the team.
Against all odds, Ah Theo was selected based on recommendation & not via 'selection process'. This has created an unprecedented procedure for the FA of England. You may wish him luck & wish that his legs don't 'crumble' at the crucial moment.

Read this (http://www.xanga.com/losergirl98):p
Does Albert Einstein or Thomas Edison use profanity in their work?
What makes you think this losergirl98 is an authority to talk about English football?
Just because Brazil won a number of times, does that mean they will win it this time too? Remember France98 when Ronaldo "lau sai" and France won?
In short, England has a chance to win just as any other team in the World Cup. But for them to win, they need lady luck to be on their side and perhaps some miracle. Hopefully all the opponents "lau sai" when they play England.
Don't run people down to the ground before the whistle is even blown.
To quote losergirl98: Ohh, and no offence to non-England lovers, kay? I don't mean anything! After all, we're all entitled to our own personal opinions.

JC and all England gang
Sorry for my long absence from the forum. What a pity, you guys kena kutuk left right and centre from other country supporters.......
I live on EPL therefore I am a die hard England fan too. You can count me in....
In this world cup, all England FC unite as ONE to showcase the best English talent in the world stage. You name it, England has the best of the best playing in the EPL - the most exciting football league in the world with the likes of Gerard, Lampard, Terry, Ferdinand, Cole 2X and Rooney to name a few... Eventhough I am a die hard Man Utd fan, I will support other FC players who plays for England, as I know they are darn good players too.
With or without Rooney, England will perform well in Germany. No doubt about it. Rooney is NOT the only saviour in the team. Don't forget, Eriksson is already planning to go to the World Cup without Rooney. With Rooney being fit to play, will be a bonus but not necessary he will start at all. He can just sit on the bench and the other team would be worried too. He can be a decoy as other teams plans the game strategies with him in mind. So this is good for England too. An opportunity to allow someone else to shine, could be Mr 'Robotic' Crouch. We did not expect him to score against Hungary but he did. Maybe he plays better in the England set up than in Liverpool. Who knows?
Beckham is back to his best form. Look at how he whipped in the two winning goals in the Hungary game. England have many players that can score as well like Gerard, Lampard and even Terry. We have seen them in the EPL and we know how good they are when they are on form. And it was proven in the Hungary game. Joe Cole will create trouble on the left weaving in between defenders and he can score too. England do not have to depend on the main strikers like Owen to score. Goals can come from set pieces, left, right and middle or even outside the box
Therefore I am not worried at all. With ALL 11 players on form and with little bit of luck, England will make it to the Semis at least. A new star will shine this year. Could be Walcott cos NO one knows what he can do. Just watch this kid go, he could be the Super Sub that can do the unexpected. This is what Eriksson is thinking of. With lots of confidence, Walcott will do just that.
I support England is because I watch the players play every week in EPL, CL, FA Cup etc in their respective FC. Therefore it make more sense to support a Team with players whom you know so well then to support a Team whom you don't even know the player's first name or can't even pronouce their names correctly or you only watch them play LIVE once in 4 years:rolleyes: How exciting can that be to support the unknown players??
Whatever happens in the World Cup 2006, win or lose, I will still be the No. 1 Fan of England Team.
Cheers to ALL ENGLAND FOOTIE FANS....and England All the way for me...:D

Haha!! Thats a good one - triple J on the roll for England cause...
I guess my prediction was correct at least for now. England is now leading 5 nil vs Jamaica. 4 goals in 1st half. The most important thing tonite is for England to score many goals to gain confidence just before the first world cup match. This time England played 4-4-2 with crouch and Owen upfront. Goals came from Lampard, Terry (i tot it was an own goal) 2 goals for Crouchie (this guy is playing well for England right now) and 1 for Owen with his clinical finish at last. 10 more minutes to play before full time.
After the 4 goals, England made lots of substitutions, giving the second string players some run in before the First match. Good for the confidence. Lots of changes made. What the heck, tryout some options since this is the last friendly
Keep it up and England should fare well in the World Cup..
Glory Glory to the England Team!!

On Saturday, England's World Cup campaign begins with what the nation hopes will be the first of seven matches, culminating in World Cup glory nearly a month later in Berlin.
It's already being suggested that, as England's concluding group match kicks off several hours after the final standings of Group A are determined, both Sweden and England may attempt to manufacture a result so that they avoid a meeting with the hosts Germany in the second round.
However, what possible pitfalls await on that particular path?
There's a suspicion that this will prove, in the group stages at least, a remarkably predictable tournament. Of the Big Guns, only Argentina and Holland appear to be, in the form of the Ivory Coast, under group-stage threat. Odds are short on Germany and Poland, England and Sweden, Argentina and Holland, Portugal and Mexico, Italy and the Czech Republic, Brazil and Australia (rather than Croatia), France and Switzerland, and Spain and Ukraine comprising the 16 nations in the second round.
That being the case, and it remains a sizeable if, then England's route to Berlin should run as follows:
As Group Winners:
Second Round v Runners-Up Group A, June 25.
Likely opponents: Poland.
Quarter-Final, July 1
Likely opponents: Portugal or Holland.
Semi-Final, July 5
Likely opponents: Brazil.
Final, July 9
Likely opponents: Argentina, Italy or France.
As Group Runners-Up:
Second Round v Winners Group A, June 24.
Likely opponents: Germany.
Quarter-Final, June 30
Likely opponents: Argentina.
Semi-Final, July 4
Likely opponents: Italy or France.
Final, July 9
Likely opponents: Brazil.
Delaying a meeting with Brazil (should the favourites progress unhindered) until July 9 can only be achieved if England finish second in Group A. The best possible scenario for Sven's men would be to finish as group runners-up and play Poland after the Poles had finished ahead of the hosts in Group A. Nonetheless, many would contend that subsequent dates with Argentina and Italy/France would prove just as taxing as matches against Portugal or Holland and Brazil.
Either way, it's gonna be tough.
For your entertainment, here, based on form (and a few predictions) are the most likely second-round fixtures:
Germany v Sweden.
Argentina v Mexico.
Italy v Australia.
France v Ukraine.
England v Poland.
Holland v Portugal.
Brazil v Czech Republic.
Spain v Switzerland.
Should the teams listed first then win those second-round ties, the quarter-final line-up would be as follows:
Argentina v Germany.
Italy v France.
England v Holland.
Brazil v Spain.
And should the teams listed first win again, then the semi-final line-up would be:
Argentina v Italy.
England v Brazil.
It's sod's law, as well as England's best hope, that Croatia and Australia now combine to belittle this formula by knocking out Brazil...

i am sure sven will try to use Rooney in the match against Sweden, at least as a sub....surely Rooney can get fit by then......
after watching the first match, i've concluded that england can't fly football. they actually play headball - always trying to rely on the tall crouch to head the ball in. if someone kept track of how much time the ball was in the air, it wouldn't have qualified for a football match!!
the english can certain learn how to play 'proper' football from the dutch team - accurate passing, dribbling etc... but i guess if u don't have the skills....

sol is too slow....
put carragher back in the middle better...then hasgreaves may need to play right back if neville is not fit...carrick can play the holding midfield role....
if score is still 0-0 by 60th mins....put in lennon and push becks to right back....

Hopefully Gary will be back. England needs him at the back and this fellla can double up as winger when attacking. Just hope that A. Cole will get back his form and do the same on the left.
