Is it normal for those who sign up for gym to be really hot in the first few months and then cool down and sometimes totally slack off? Happening to me-lah, last month didn't go at all (partially due to schedule) and always come up with lotsa excuses not to go. Same thing happened to some of my friends. Does it happen to you guys and gals? How to overcome ah? Suggestions?
Must go tomorrow before breakfast so I can pig-out during breakfast and not feel guilty. Hahaha:laugh:

yup. i think it happens to everyone. i find the following 2 strategies help quite a lot:
1) i book out the time into my calender in advance.
2) i focus on just getting to the gym. i don't think about what i will do there, whether i'm too busy, whether i'm tired, whether i don't feel like going, what i'm going to do there. i just focus all my energy on getting there. i find that's most of the battle won, just trying to get there.

using those two simple ideas i've been going to the gym at least 2 to 3 times a week for the last 3 years...

actually, the other thing that helps is that my girlfriend goes to the gym too, so we encourage each other to go...

Not me!!! I paid $50 a month...if i don't use....i feel like i wasted my $50 giving it to an organization. I usualy go 4x a week religiously. Not that i am a gym rat or anything its just because as you go older, you have to think about your own health. Nobody can help you with that but yourself.

Stick a poster of Arnold or any of your admirer in your room or just about every where for motivation purposes. Or just make a deal with your partner or gym buddy that whoever does not turn up in gym at the appointed time, then get fine for say.....RM100.Ah........fear of losing $$$ will be a big push for you to go.

BRING. FRIENDS. Push each other. During college we did that. Went with a regular partner. Goading each other on to push our self limits was probably the biggest motivation for both of us.

Setting targets for yourself will definitely help like running 5km within 30 minutes, cycle for 30minutes to reach 20km???, etc, etc..
