Counterfeit 50 cent coins

I think I have a counterfeit 50 cents coin with me. Remember those fake RM1 coins? This one looks like that. The image and font seems blurred and feels smooth on both sides. The colour is the same and the weight feels the same as well. It seems vending machines can't tell the difference coz I got it from the parking ticket payment machine in KLCC 2 days ago. Check and see if you guys have any of them.

Normal lah..the 1 ringgits one gone liao..go for lower one lor....But I think 50 cents one abit difficult to make lah..and is not worth the effort...

Nope, have not seen fake USD yet. I think for those fellas, 50cents still worth it especially when you churn it out like cookies. How much can the raw material cost?

no la... to me the fake ones feel a bit like plastic...
They feel smoother compared to the real ones but the sound is the same when you drop them. Can't really tell unless you look closer but how many people check when they're handed change right?

Looks a bit like the one on the right. markings are all faded. Edges are also scratched and dented just like your pic.

I also found one which still got pic of parliment at the back. That one should be real.

The font also look smaller and more spaced out as well, but the most abvious part to me will be the bungaraya.

During my sec. school days ('80s), most of the time my parents got some coins changed from their routine morning pasar schedule. Sometimes, they got one or two Straits Settlement coins bearing KGeorge VI , usually face value of 10c or 20c. I still have them. Just that, it is no longer in use for a long long time:). I think ppl used it during the colonial days until before 1957.

Anyone seen these kind of coins before?

If like this will 50sen coin be withdrawn from circulation? Now no more RM 1 coin, trolley rental reduced to 50 sen. If no more 50 sen, then reduce to 20sen?

Like a credit system . Each purchase..the amount will be deducted off from our total credit (our salary and/or other income) accordingly to the purchase price. I only seen this in futuristic movie..Star Trek..that we talked about Earth in 23rd century..:D
