[Closed]Retirement of Repo System(Damn Cover Blown!!)

All,
After much discussion, its with a heavy heart and sadness that a decision had been made to retire the reputation system. The reason due is because we find that members emotional status is usually disrupted when given a negative comment and mods/admin are usually drag into the whole thing when that happen. This causes much fustration and sleepless nights to the mods/admin as well. Some of the admin/mods can't even sleep/work/eat properly and even sucidal trying to resolve the situation. Phone bills are also going up when some mods/admin overseas try calling up local members to resolve the situation.This has lead to high credit card debt and late payments on their financial status. We were hoping for a more mature crowd but unfortunately, the sleepless nights are not worth the effort put in by the mods/admin. We hope you understand.

Agreed wholeheartedly. I know it's difficult to have Sleepless Night in Seattle. I do have a suggestion. How about the 'warning'? I mean only the admin/mod is allowed to give warning to forummer. Of course it's visible on the screen how many warning one gets.

This warning system is practised in other forums but not this forum.

Anyway, glad that we are getting rid of this repo system. Finally...

My initial feeling is I AM SHOCK......VERY SHOCK.

Shock bcoz the rules and policies are always changing. The ground are always shifting. So much so that that its starting to be a joke.

When the repo system is initiated, the admin council should have anticipated the pros and cons and moderated whatever problems that may come its way. You cannot start something and when there is a problem, scrap it. When is all this going to end. When there are problems, moderate it. Otherwise, the efforts will always be going in circle. How are you going to start any new programs for the Forum and at the end of it, knowing that it will be scrapped.

Members of the Forum have put in much effort and time to build up this Forum. Most of us have included the Forum in our daily lives. If we gauge the scrapping of the repo system to be anything measureable, then I can safely say the Forum has seen its days knowing that it will be scrapped one day. When? I don't know. Its depends whether the admin council can take all the heat of the Forum when problems arises and are not moderated.

Since Dino brought up the problems that the admins has to settle, sleepless nites, etc.....I would like to suggest that the admin council setup a complaint department. All complaints, fightning, etc be channalled to this department. For the sake of the Forum and all that I owe to ACS Sitiawan that has brought me up and all the good times, may I offer myself as the person to handle this department.

For the sake of the Forum and all that it is worth, do not make hasty decisions and be wishy-washy. Once a system is set up, stand by it and face the chanllenges that it offers.

BE A SOARING EAGLE, NOT A POT HOLE AVOIDER.

Which system in the world are used correctly?? All systems are subject to abuse. It is the Admins that has to moderate it. If any of the admins that cannot handle this, may I propose that they don't take up this heavy responsibility. This is all about maturity.

So what if it turns out to be a popularity contest, let it be. Every forum has its good fun and the repo system besides the jabbing and poking fun at each other are good fun. Why kill good thing?? Besides, the admins and some members are always saying green boobies are nothing. If it is nothing, why scrap it?? By scrapping it only goes to show the council cannot handle problems.

How to take it easy??
When I came into the Forum, read all the rule and policies. Abide by them and have fun. Enjoy everything the Forum has to offer inclu the repo system. +ve repo members for the good comments, intelligent inputs, and the knowledges they shared. Only red members twice for the stupid comments they gave for some good exchanging of ideas.
Also got red from ppl and NEVER retaliated.
Everybody wants to be recognize for their contribution. How they perceive the approval they receive from members is for them to know.
