easy to say... when you're desperate, they may be the only ones willing to lend you money... better to extend your life a little and risk being hacked by them rather than dying immediately...

Rule Number One..

NEVER get into a situation where you need Ah Long.

Then you need not worry about the interest rates.

Just remember to stay away from gambling. Gamble small time during CNY is OK.. where the maximum bet allowed is RM10 for a game of blackjack.

If like that then can always open another table mar. Small time players play RM10 lar. Big time players play big time.

But remember if you bet RM100, then someone kena 5 cards 21.. then you pay RM300. If you chongker... and 2 fellows kena 5 cards 21... you pay up RM600. May not be much, but if carry on... easily chalk up 4-5 figure debts.

then play rm 100 la..
Then some will graduate to RM1000, then RM 10,000. Must always have a self limit, only won't fall to the trap.

But in real life 90% of the borrowers loaned it for the wrong reasons - mostly those lost in gamblings. Some 10% of the borrowers actually used it for cash roll in business when then couldn't get loans from the finance instituitions or banks. It's common amongst the construction fellas. Sometimes they need money to buy materials to start off some renovations project.

Whichever way you look at it, there are two side of the coin. Some good, mostly bad!

That guy who was interviewed in Mix FM is a liciensed money lender. He admitted that the biggest problem is collection. Sometimes, it's a real big problem that he has to resort to creative means to collect payments.
