I bought the Wawasan 2020 shares. High interest rate...10% for the 1st few years. Still getting 6-7% now, definitely higher than bank fixed interest rate.

Ever since the Wawasan 2020 scheme, I've been buying ASN for sometime now. Don't care it's for the MAS bond or whatever, end of the year, their interest is still higher than EPF or even banks rate. I missed the SSPN cos all unit sold out when I wanted to buy them.

If you save with the gahment, you are protected from interest depreciation. Even during 98 commonwealth, they say the Wawasan 2020 is to bond for the game. But the interest rates given was 5x better than the banks. As a non-bumi, I can say that we have to tumpang luck only. Gahment is looking after the bumi very well and thus they relocate a few unit for the non-bumi. So just grab while we can.

I totally agree with Jang. When they allocate bonds for bumi only, non-bumi complain not fair. When the open up for all, you people get suspicious. Don't read too much between the lines. As long as its low risk, no harm investing.

There is no big frog jumping on the street. Everything also got a little clause. If to maintain minimum Rm500 in the account is not difficult. Anyway, it's for education. Don't they think RM500 is too little for education?
