my prediction 1st schummi, 2nd raikonen, 3rd alonsoi wish i can be that optimistic for kimi....
he's just not on form and not performing well...
nonetheless, fingers crossed and hope the strategy works!
I think Fissi will take the team's order to slowly-slowly drive to enjoy the view in Monte Carlo la...... Nothing wrong wat.... Schumi did that to Mika during the first Sepang race :p
could easily happen, esp since it's hard to overtake here...!

Schuey pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix.
But... under investigation for blocking???!!!
Here's the verdict :)
Schumacher is stripped of pole
28 May 2006
Michael Schumacher has been moved to the back of the grid for the Monaco Grand Prix after stewards concluded that he deliberately blocked the track in the closing stages of qualifying, preventing rivals from beating his time.
The decision - which came eight hours later - means Renault’s Fernando Alonso will now start from pole position with the Williams of Mark Webber alongside him. Schumacher is demoted to the back row, where he will join Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa, who crashed out of qualifying without setting a time.
Schumacher appeared to lock his brakes and then run wide as he entered the final Rascasse corner in the dying moments of the session. The former champion regained control without hitting the barriers, but came to a halt with his stalled car partially blocking the circuit, forcing other drivers to slow down.
Following the session, the stewards heard evidence concerning the incident from Schumacher - who claimed it was a genuine error - as well as Ferrari personnel. They also reviewed video footage and data evidence supplied by the team and the FIA.
Their finding was that Schumacher had no justifiable reason for braking so hard, as he had been traveling little or no quicker than at the same point on previous laps. They therefore concluded that he deliberately stopped his car on the circuit, an infringement of the sporting regulations.
As punishment the stewards deleted all of Schumacher’s qualifying times, hence his move to the back of the grid, from where he has little or no chance of taking a record-equaling sixth Monaco Grand Prix win.
Ferrari’s Jean Todt expressed the team's displeasure at the stewards' findings, saying: “We totally disagree with it. Such a decision creates a very serious precedent, ruling out the possibility of driver error. Michael was on his final timed lap and he was trying to put his first place beyond doubt, as could be seen from the fact that his first split time was the best and could have seen him do another very good lap. With no real evidence, the stewards have assumed he is guilty."
The FIA will publish the grid in full as usual on Sunday morning.
i agree with the stewart's decision. saw the whole incident. it was a deliberate act for sure. i dun like this shumey fella, as he'll stoop to ANYTHING just to win. we need people with more integrity la, sports persons included. i think he's trying to better senna's record at monaco....too bad, i still think senna's the best.... nice try, though...

Politics in F1 starts.
In 2004, Bridgestone admitted concentrating only on Shumi for feedback. They also provided him with latest products (tyres) and not to the rest including Ruberns Barrichello, his teammate.
It may happen again, favouring their former supporting teams.
Current Michelin Teams may be victims of this ruling.

Exclusive interview with Kimi Raikkonen
02 August 2006
Kimi Raikkonen (FIN) McLaren. Formula One World Championship, Rd 12, German Grand Prix, Practice Day, Hockenheim, Germany, 28 July 2006McLaren’s Kimi Raikkonen may be a man of few words, but he chooses those words well, leaving the listener with little doubt of his feelings. At the moment it appears he is feeling pretty relaxed. He knows that he has twice lost out on championships he probably should have won, but he also knows the best may well be yet to come…
Q: Twelve races, one pole, five podiums, but no win - you cannot be satisfied with your season so far. How do you feel about the situation?
Kimi Raikkonen: Obviously I am not happy how the season has gone so far. After finishing second in the championship last year I expected to be challenging for the title. But after a couple of races it was clear we are not competitive enough.
Q: Can the team’s moderate performance be put down to a specific reason? You retired twice due to accidents, but in five races you simply didn’t seem to have the pace...
KR: Its not just one specific thing, we need to work on the whole package.
Q: Ahead of you lies a difficult decision regarding McLaren: stay or go. The Ferrari and Renault rumours are common knowledge, but last week Mercedes’ Norbert Haug said that if you were smart, you’d stay. Are you smart?
KR: I am comfortable with being in a position that I can choose where I drive next year.
Q: Believe the rumours and in theory you can choose between three teams for 2007. What would draw you to Ferrari, to Renault - or persuade you to stay where you are?
KR: I am not going to go into specifics on the pros and cons on each team.
Q: When will you announce your decision, and what influence does Michael Schumacher’s future have on it?
KR: I will announce my decision when the time is right, and Michael’s decision has no influence on my future.
Q: Staying with McLaren would mean having Fernando Alonso as your team mate. What could that mean for your position within the team?
KR: Fernando joining the team is not different from Juan Pablo (Montoya) joining the team two years ago. I would have equal number one status.
Q: When you learned that Fernando had signed with (McLaren boss) Ron Dennis, what was your first thought? You have spent years trying to win the title with McLaren, and now your key rival could walk in and reap the rewards of your labours…
KR: Its Ron’s team and up to him who he decides drives for McLaren. I could have been a two-time world champion with McLaren, but things did not work out due to circumstances beyond my control.
Q: With two thirds of the season gone, what can you now realistically expect for this year?
KR: Clearly the world championship is not possible this year. So the next best thing I can aim for is wins. I could have won at Monaco and Canada this year, but again things did not go my way.
Q: Have you been surprised by Juan Pablo’s untimely departure?
KR: I don’t think about JPM’s decision as it does not concern me.

I agree with you. Fantastic!
Bravo Button, Bravo Honda.
As for Kimi, misunderstanding with Luizzi. Can't really say who's fault.
Kimi had the right to pass and Luizzi slowed down at the wrong place and wrong time. Kimi had his teammate, Pedro breathing down his neck and therefore wanted to use some slip-stream. KABOOM! Out went Kimi... :sad-2:

I do agree with you stating the tyres to be the main reason. Shumi had an option of playing it safe by coming in to change his tyres as the frequency of tyre changes is not an issue this year as compared with last.
The compensation of safety to him and other drivers on the circuit and his greed to think he can stop everyone else from overtaking him by unecessary blocks really got into every 'Non-Ferrari' fans's nerves.
His ego got the better of him.
He was very lucky not to be penalized for making that comeback maneuver with Pedro after he went off track on his penultimate retirement lap.

so disappointed with their performance this year... :crying: :crying:
What I ment was if Shumi got 2nd podium placing, he'll score 8 points. Not enough to earn him world championship.
Aiyo!!! Don't talk about McLaren's luck these 3 years.
Worse than S***.
But still I mati mati support them...:crying:

I think Schumi will win this year.
Alonso is focus on fighting with his team & not focusing on the championship

Very very slim chance.
But Ferrari believes so.
Ferrari's boss claims Michael's faliure last week only makes ferrari more anxious to have a win in Brazil.

Don't worry. Alonso will change his attitude next year.

All Alonso needs is an 8th placing and the championship is his. The team wil be telling him not to push too hard to preserve the engine. Shumi's chances are really slipping by. He'll be praying for a miracle.

The only way:
Shumi wins Massa takes Alonso out.
This move has happened before (twice I think) in the history of Formula 1.

Or Ferrari could pay off a lesser known team like Aguri to block or take Alonso out.

I don't think those 'dirty' tactics will be used again.
I just hope Alonso and Schumi ends up among the podium winners. Really want to see how they react to each other after the race.
Hmm...maybe Schumi won't retire next season and joins McLaren for a new challenge. Imagine Alonso and Schumi in the same team. Great stuff!

I was a real nerve wreaking race and Schumi should have won if not for his bad fortune on lap 9 where his rear tyre was hit by Fischi. Schumi really showed what a real world champion is really made of, making his way from 19th to 5th.
Bravo to Schumi for a great final race of his career and Massa for winning the last race of the season.
