thinking about it...
i'll be in singapore... dalady's due sometime in may/june... 3rd baby... could explode anytime 2 weeks early or 2 weeks late... so that's about 1 month!!!
since there's no way i can take 1 month leave, i guess there's a chance that i won't be in kl when dalady actually goes into labour...
if dalady goes into labour at night... i may not be able to get a flight home in time... :(
how ah?

03-01-2006, 10:47 PM
daboss, i think there are tell tale signs when labour is imminent, isn't it..?
get dalady to tell you, then hire a car right away and get back...

thought of that... she and my parents definitely won't allow that... they'd be worried about safety... since i have really really bad driving habits...

althou there are no facts to back this claim....but I think baby after the 1st one usually comes earlier....so my 2 sen advise is to prepare for early delivery than later.

well, there's always the next bus/train out...
but considering the waiting time, probably quicker by flight then...

i think knowing my luck... i'd probably make the wrong bet...err... i think it should be the delivery time would be faster...
i.e. first child takes longer to deliver, then subsequent child less labour time...
i don't think it's anything to do with the period of gestation...

only an hour or so
common misconception...
flight is only 40+ minutes... but the dem airport procedures alone take more than 2.5 hours total for both sides...
total about 3 hours at least... also, after 10+ pm, no more flight abck to kl...

When a women have gone thru 1st and 2nd natural delivery, don't think they will opt for a c-sec for the 3rd one. Daboss, maybe you can fixed a date and induce the baby at your convenience probably at 36 to 38 weeks? For induce birth, the O&G will make sure that the baby is at a good weight like 3kg? During my time, my gynae keep on pestering me to induce. He say why want to carry full term. Not heavy meh? haha... That time my baby is already 3.5kg at 38 weeks.

Doc giving advice here ok, free one lor....
Ok! If the the due date is very correct then opt for planned delivery...That's mean, by 38 weeks going for induction of labour..Daboss can come back on that day for this usually not much of complication if previous 2 had normal delivery..
This is called tailored planned delivery..in private definately.:)

Induce will be cheaper than c-sec and also to fly down urgently when labour is here. I think only few hundred extra for the drugs.
eerrr... still cheaper than cater for a copter hor.

I tot of ELSIE too...reshuffling Elise :)
In line with the criteria..What bout ELFIE?
daboss...i dont think c-section is good ides, coz if previous 2 babies delivered vaginally, why go for something unnatural? natural is dabest!
why women want to tolerate the pain of labour? to suffer isn't divine...but undergoing a c-section is not pain free! u need more time to recover from the surgical wound...and must care for baby at same time. mom's with normal vaginal delivery recover soon after, and can spend more Quality time wif baby.
my mom had 3 babies...and the third one, within 1/.2hr of onset of pain, my little bro was out dee! boys *shake heads*...too fast eh :p
anyway that was at a reasonable hr in the evening...unless us two gals who chose early morning (unearthly hrs) to come out.
anyway...what i'm trying to say is, da2ndgirl might come out pretty soon after pain onset. so boss, try changing ur schedule if can la...singapore can wait during that period.
or forego temaning dalady...i'm sure she'll be understanding. the baby will be ok...my dad was in germany & only came back weeks before my 1st Bday.
though it'll be hard on u...catch the soonest flight u can get, and kalau sempat can teman, if not...hey both mom & child will be urs to see & hug & wateva else :)
as for induction...well, our O&G s[ecialist suggested it...but i dun think gomen hosp will like d idea. so i'm not so much for unnecessary induction...final words for today : "pregnancy is a physiological process, as long as its natural, let God have his will...if its unnatural, let our O&Gs have a hand in it :) "
