When I was young, you always give me an impression that you're smart, well mannered, soft spoken and a jovial person. There must be something about you, monay.
Care to share the secrets? :)

Well i think the compliments r very genuine ---- i believed ur kindness touch many people heart :)
monay - absolutely delightful interesting traits bundled into a person...
initially i thought she was super forgetful, at times a tad irresponsible.
but now i have known her to be a kind and caring person, very determined in all that she does, a perfect example of a sanguine person.
onli thing dat i dun understand is... how she and mr kong can sing a song in two different pitch... perfectly...

for those that didn't know Monay when she was younger, she lived in Kg China and had many many many cats, i think even more than we did. in MYF she was always very obliging when we needed someone to play piano - usually pick between Monay, Lilian Miles and Jean Lau.
i think i speak for everyone that knows her in that no one has anything bad to say of her, only good.

PP- i do not think i hav more cats than u, i was really impressed when i saw the number of yours and that they really hav a milk dish. but now my mom has 5 at home, down from 10....here none, younger kid wheezes now and then, too bad..as to playing the piano during MYF...i don't think i did many times.. really tone deaf/cannot keep time at that time and cannot play by ear/chords need all the notes, admired ppl like kcfoong, zazu, jeanlau who can just sit and the piano and play...u dunno how many tears shed and butterflies i felt playing it. Not to mention, hate to practice.... Nowleh, love to play it, thankful for the lessons mummy paid, and since stepping up to join the worship team, my ear and timing has got much much better....
Alfred98- don't remember the signin chip thing, but nemermind, better not to refresh dis memory, sounds bad..

wah! Me absent for a couple of days and so already this going on...Zazu did tell me but over the weekend too many things to do....monay was well, I'd consider my best friend during our school days...and yeah, she's all what all of you say of her...and the ducklings and cats that she tried to have me adopt along the way...though one kitten did become me and my brothers' favourite cat, when she died we even built a small 'hockchew-style' grave for it....ducklings, i had to hide them from my mom by putting them under my bed but I was made to return them as soon as they were discovered. But, yeah, she was and still is a good friend though we are miles apart these days...long live monay....don't blame if you feel likeyou are reading your own obituary...  but she's one of the kindest souls I know.
still laughs at my silliest comments and makes me laugh a lot....

I can't resist this! Have to say my piece.Monay, have always admired your authenticity and genuineness ,not to mention your versatility and intelligence(always knew you were the smart one).
We survived the 3 Stooges years(w Lilianmiles),a little scarred by the scathing remarks from dear Mr Leong our piano maestro, but nevertheless thankful that today we can play fairly well:)
I rememberd the ducklings,A7!! loved sports, the challenge, first time in primary school, teacher took a bunch of us to the 100 M track, OK run to the end and I'll choose the first few for (can't remember what) i was somewhere at the end but that was my first taste of adrenalin... and when u r young no dream seems impossible...my 5 year old watching the winter olympics said he wants to go there and compete :)
admired many sportsmen and women... Sebastian Coe, Marina Chin, Ian Rush...

Waaahhh.. Monay,
I've enjoyed all the fantastic Praise and Worship (borrowed line from MYF.. he..he..) for you from all your admirers, both old and young...
I remember you being the cute sports gal.. but never had much chance to break ice until one day, you drop by the field with another gal (can't recall who she was now) to send a message to A. Naidu..
Unfortunately, due to my sloppy defending a few minutes earlier, the opposite team managed to put a goal up front against us. As the custom those days, we ended up that day not only shirt-less but speechless as well when we saw you giggled so hard... probably looking at (the remnants of) our "Ethiopian-famine" ribs..

the myth about my white has been debunked by Siew Jang. She said after all my hair is not so white. During our time in school, we used to tease Convent girls by saying, "Convent Girls rosy cheek, without cucuan cannot sleep". Hope to see you in person someday:p

Unfortunately, due to my sloppy defending a few minutes earlier, the opposite team managed to put a goal up front against us. As the custom those days, we ended up that day not only shirt-less but speechless as well when you giggled so hard... probably from looking at the remnants of our "Ethiopian-famine" ribs..
must be gigling for some other reason, as i remember u were one tall well built guy...:D

ultimately just get the ball into the hole; and move on the next hole.
Oddfather - sounds like this has another meaning........is it just me?
(i was thinking about snooker or billiards)

usually the speaker is innocent. Its the one hearing with the mind....some with serong mind. :p
in Soonker or billiards, you can put the balls in the same hole over and over again. Only golf can't. it has to be one hole after the other.
after 30, I think I will settle for golf....would you, Ball??
haha very funny andrew hong

h2o, u r still very active in sports & games. Respect maximumlah. Most of my friends stopped all forms of exercise. They do the occassional remote control exercise ie car remote, tv remote, dvd remote....& some of them are "remote-controlled" by their wife.

I have seen your photos with your children and your mother. I think I know your father quite well and currently he is very actively involved in serving the Sitiawan Wesley Church. He used to be my tennis buddy too. I am not too sure whether your mother remember me by name or not. Anyway, do take care and hope to see you with your family back home (i.e. our kampung).

don't lah guys pls....
living in hk for nearly a decade i always had live-in filipino help..... but i never allowed her to fetch me or my kids water or stuff for that matter......
if everything is remote in our daily lives, after 20 years of getting used to it...... it may make a difference to our fitness levels bcos cultivating laziness can be very hard to turn around. remember we are not getting any younger.
after dinner it becomes too easy to lepak on the lounge rather than take a walk (since some of us obviously don't need to clear the table and wash up :p )
maaf ye for lecturing...... just don't want u guys to end up with unnecessary paunch...... hehe

then the maid do what?
fetch water, shoes, socks, etc for you lor....
then the maid do what?
besides fetching glass of water, nothing else meh? fetching shoes is puppy's job ler......
the maid has to pao ka liao mah!!! like me now loh...... cleaning floor, toilets, marketing, food prep, cooking, cleaning kitchen, scrub pots and pans, take out garbage, wash car, change bed linen, etc. wahhhhhh so many things already.... cannot finish listing, think also back-breaking liao!!! (but actually me worse.... have to work non-stop 8.30am - 5.30pm and chauffeur kids on top of all that)
it's oso not so good for our humanity ( i used to pay myr$2000 p/month for my maid in hk but cannot bleed them dry lah, they are also human.....) think of it this way, it's not their choice to be born in such a poor country into such a poverty-stricken way of life..... we are already very fortunate to have their help to do the 'dirty' work. so can do the simple one ourselves and don't wear them out entirely.
it's like this parallel i use for myself: aircon in summer or heater in winter is there to keep my comfort level tolerable so i'm not sweltering in 39deg or freezing in sub zero, so i can concentrate on what i'm doing..... some ppl i know here like to turn the aircon in the office or car to 21deg but in winter have the heater under their workstation to 30deg all day!!!! what logic is that? no wonder their face wrinkled up la! extreme dehydration is unnatural...
so also having too little physical work to do will result in a thoroughly sedentary lifestyle which i shudder to consider the consequences of when i reach 50.... anyway this is a philosophy i apply to my own life

It's a small world isn't it, especially the world of Sitiawan. My mother remembers u, that u are 2 years her junior and actually same year with her younger brother, Ming Kooi. She has seen your pics too, but shh, i haven't told her i posted pics of her....Yes, my dad is still serving in Wesley, after by the grace of God, he kicked his gambling addiction (spent many hours and dollars at SRC).
