the spiders have been visiting our forum for a long long time now... these programs go around sniffing the internet through links to read pages and store the pages in their database. once they do this, when you perform a search in the search engines, you can get to find the page.

prior to the upgrade, all we see is their ip address... some of us who monitor long enough and perform whois checks can determine which engine the spiders belong to. with the new version, a 'database' of search engine ip addresses are stored and their names can be shown in the who's online list... i just had to turn the switch on... :)
