1. there seems to be reports coming in about firefox users cannot click on the smilies and the formatting buttons... funny that it doesn't happen to me... any one else?
2. also, i've enable the feature that keeps track of new posts (even after you log out)... so when you first click on 'new posts' you'll probably see everything as unread... i suggest you go to the main page of the forum and click on 'mark forums read' to reset everything for yourself... that way, it's easier for you to track the threads that you've read...

For those of you hitting problem, try deleting your cache and try again.
For IE users:
Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Files -> Tick "Delete all offline contents" -> OK
For Firefox users:
Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Cache -> Clear Cache Now
For other browsers:
You got to find it out yourself :p

note that the 'remember me' is unticked as the default... so if you did not tick on 'remember me' and your session times out (as previously), you can consider that as a 'logout' since you'll have to log back in...
if you click on 'remember me' before you login, behaviour should be the same as before the upgrade...

ok... got this from vbulletin support:
Have them refresh the page using Ctrl + F5.
Possibly they have some old JavaScript code cached.

i have specifically set it such that users can modify their posts indefinitely... anyone else has this problem? please provide details so that i can troubleshoot...

What do you mean?
Hi JC,
I can't post HTML tags loh. Let's say i wanna do a highlighted text at background of my text:
<html>
<p style="background-color: yellow"> My text goes here</p>
<html>
Tak boleh loh :(
No HTML tags here. Use the [attributes] that you can find when writing a post.
An example of your HTML code:
[ COLOR="Yellow"]Your text go here[/COLOR ]
I suppose this is a security feature of vbulletin to disallow HTML injection.

yes (i believe i've seen a setting somewhere in the admin panel), but 15 mins is time tested in all forums... you don't want to have someone who didn't explicitly sign out to actually appear signed on for too long...

in my case....I have another live application running and I am logged on the whole day. Sometimes I have to attend to work and it takes more than 15 mins. So I dun need to login again to the Forum. This will enable for me to track the Forum easily instead of having the Who's online page to prevent it from logging off.
If such option is available, then may I request it to be set to 30 mins??

One other feature I really like is that when you edit post, it appears on the same page, together with other posts, and without the smileys...and the big space to type your message.......much easier and frenlier than the old one.

This new version of forum really irritating. The lock in for few minutes, then stopped for awhile it locked out automatically. Just so fast it do it sharp sharp.
Can suggest the timing be extended like to 30 minutes or 60 minutes.. and don't say can relocked in again because the password is save in the site. For fire fox the password is not save but had to type each time...Can help here!!!

did you check the box "Remember me"?? if not, do that, and it will lock you in for 30 mins, I think. Otherwise, if you have to look at your misi for a long period of time, then put your page on Who's online....

alfred, andrewh is right... you need to tick the box "remember me"...
that way, you can stay logged on for hours and it's still good...
threads that you have not read will continue to remain so...
unlike the old version where if you stay logged on and after 15 mins without activity (i think), they were automatically marked as read...
