hi all,

the cyclone is back after tearing through the midwest! my apologies for doing the houdini act.

looks like many significant events have happened over the past few months. took me more than an hour of scanning all the postings - i think it's going to cause carpal tunnel soon!

seriously, it's great to see so many "new" old faces. i must admit that it's been hard to remember everyone. i don't know how you all do it.

so, i guess congratulations is in order to jc for his new baby boy, and congratulations to darthvader for his wedding, and congratulations to daboss for his upcoming third?

and i'm gathering from the posting that daboss has relocated to Spore? anything else happened?

soli lah....working 30 hrs and taking 3 classes - not so easy leh. this semester really overload. just got done with finals yesterday - 3 research papers in weeks, now like zombie.

no such luck - semester holiday ends early jan, so i can't make it to cny. hoping to make a trip home next summer but haven't decided when. have to go for conference in montreal.

jin wei, i actually got a conference proposal accepted for hawaii too, but i don't think i'll get to go because of $$ - my friend may represent.

Not the type of news you were hoping to hear :D

My productivity is not in terms of babies, yet anyway. Still plodding away at my coursework. Managed to get my paperwork in order this semester and changed from a double major to a major + a minor in different departments. That means I'll graduate earlier than initially planned. Even then, still have another 2 years.

Only exciting news the past few months is our lucky escape from one tornado touchdown in Ames which destroyed one of my church member's home.

Weather has been erratic this year. Warm spell one week, followed by tornado, and then winter storm. We've had more snow this year for Nov-Dec than we've had in the previous years. Frigid weather into the -F!

This is the time I miss home most, well, next to CNY.

Wish I could be back to join the CNY celebrations in Swan.

Well Cyclone, methinks the same too - methinks too that he's got twice more "tangan" than a typical octopus - that would make him overqualified and super-duper able for a whole world of jobs right? No flattery here tho' - hihihihi - well next week I shall be off to 3 countries: Hong Kong, China (southern Guangdong province) and Taiwan for a series of evangelistic concerts playing bass guitar, backing some prolific singers in the gospel circuit in that region from 23/12 through 5/1/06, so no mobile calls to me please (SMSes are OK tho') but email messages are widely welcome.....so this may be a short hiatus from the forum again for me.....

Well there's another one from 19/1 till 27/1 or better not be later than 28/1 in Mainland China a little southwest of Shanghai - besides worship concerts, there shall be band workshops - and 3 Malaysian gospel musicians are in it incl. me...better b back even by day 1 CNY lerr....and send my car for service b4 19/1 just for the drive home then......

i mana tau who the b-brothers are? don't have time to keep up with everyone's lives leh. i know of only a few that i've managed to keep in touch with and those of which i get news and updates.

but i would say if u're healthy, with a job that pays for a roof over your head and food on your table, and family that loves you, then what more do you need!

if i choose to compare my situation to all our friends, i'd be mighty depressed because i'm still studying while everyone's busy establishing themselves in their career. yet i love my situation, poor as i am in material wealth, rich i am in my marriage and family ties. nothing has been more fulfilling!
