View Full Version : Are You Wearing Your Wedding Ring?

Voon Chan
12-14-2005, 10:06 AM
Wife: I have travelling around. Most married man will wear a wedding ring. Where is your ring (we were having dinner in a restaurant)

VC: I left it at home today

Wife: You hardly wear that ring. Is that why girls are asking you if you are still single? Please wear the ring

Vc : I will try to remember to wear it.

Wife: Are you trying to tell people that you are still availbale?

VC : No,.....................................

Let me ask you:
1) Is wearing a wedding ring so important to you & your spouse?
2) So many people wear ring, does it really signify true love?

I never wear my ring, it's tooo.....'PRECIOUSSSSS, to ME. preciouss, my preciouss...they will stole it, from ussssss'.

....sorry, got carried away for a moment there. the word 'ring' activates my LOTR Middle Earth mode without fail every time.

Nope, never wore it. Coz I never ever HAD a wedding ring. My wife does, but she doesnt wear it too. 'Gatal and Leceh-lah'....so there.

Reasons...
1. work environment, i'm dealing wif chemicals..dun wanna ring to get oxidised or any chemical get stuck
2. after pregnant, bones became bigger, so ring cannot fit into my finger liao...
3. best reason ever...keep people wondering about my marital status
When i just start working at my present job, my colleagues were kept wondering about my actual age, when i told them i already have 2 kids, they were very shocked...they thought I'm below 30 yrs old

Newly married mah honey is still sweet, had to wait until the bee get fed up with the honey. Remember long time ago we also like that.... :D

Ehemm, this being a public forum, I am compelled to say that this particular bee is ever attracted to the overflowing and frothing to the brim honey pot it has decided to call home, and would be so forevermore.......UNDER PAIN OF DEATH, if need be.

All other married guys in the forum, fall in line behind this statement, or tempt fate and DIE.

I wear my wedding ring the day it was putted on my finger. Occasionally, will switch with a diamond ring (which is not my wedding ring) during functions (to show off ma). After that it's back to my wedding ring again. I'm so used to wearing one now. Without it, I feel so nakid.

For hubby case, he had a few rings he like. So he will switch occasionally as and when he like. To both of us, it doesn't really matter. It's just a ring. Butt.... I do get suspicious if after so many years of wearing them, suddenly he doesn't put on any. ( )

I can already imagine it. Life begins at 30... with baby no.3 in tow (crying for milk), the other 2 kids yelling at the top of their lungs, maids running after the kids, hubby hooked on the internet and apparently oblivious to everything (except occasionally shouting "keep quiet!"), background grumblings about the newly hired maid... and ME away at a spa retreat (soft music in the background), having a soothing body massage... Ah...bliss!;)

Your answer should be " yes dear, I am ...but only when you're away".......

okokok...jokes aside, I don't wear them these days caused my weight at my wedding day 86 KG, now 98 (ok lah the difference is the 6 now become 9).

So the skin peels everytime I wear them, thankfully, my mrs. ask me to do away with them until I slim down (i.e. become attractive again......... )

i am just wearing my engagement for now. I do think its important to wear it even after wedding. Reason being, especially if u get married in church... the ring has been blessed and and it signifies the love for each other. So, it is significant to me. Therefore, I will always wear it no matter wat. As for my hubby, i think i would be pissed off if he doesnt wear it.

During pregnancy, I'll wear my spare one which fit. Anyway, during the wedding tea ceremony, a lot of relative bought me ring too. Anyway, after so many years wearing a ring, there is this white mark on my finger (I've just checked them again). It's very ugly now if did not wear a ring.

Here smartass doc said don't wear ring expecially during late pregnancy because for some lady with pregnancy induced hypertension she will have water retension then the ring cannot be removed. This is needed expecially during operation at which the body cannot have any metal which transmit electricity that will get burned. So if the lady ring cannot be removed then had to chopped off the finger loh... :D :D

Ok, jagalah baik-baik cincin tu!

Let me share with you a story
On the 17/11/2005, I woke up in the morning,
I told myself that I must wear my wedding ring.
I took my shower & already to go out.
I locked the house door & I realised that I forgot about the ring.
On a normal day, I would just go to work.

On that day, I decided that I must get it.
So, I unlock the door & go to my room & wore my ring.

That evening, I met an accident.
After the accident, I look at my ring.

Maybe, I was save by the ring( a friend said that to me)

On the other side, if you just skip the ring, you might not bump into that car that is causing you to lost control. Cannot look at things like this one.

i ain't married but i do wear a ring on my right hand wedding finger, all the time... (the only one that fits)
got used to it, and funny coz some people (usually asian) thinks i'm married...
if i'm not wearing it, i'd actually feel quite weird....

Pros and cons of wearing wedding ring:
Pros:1.To show off U are married and to kept away buayas.
2.So that your husband cannot flirt.
3. Emergency money on finger can gadai.
4. Can use to punch off robbers.
5, With so many china doll around can use the ring as detector-localiser for the wife.

Ring detector oh, implant a detecting device in the ring like James Bond movie so U know where U husband is and no hanky panky can escape the wife lah.(Don't tell the husband lor U got detector in the ring). :) :)
i thot i wear ring husband cannot flirt...no logic

I wouldn't be so sure. Someone as smart and as attractive as you has no lack of suitor. The timing will all depend on you :)

A thin segment of the ring broke. It's just a matter of sending it to a goldsmith. Most probably I'll send it to one in Kelantan when I get back next month. They do real good work there.

Now I know why some doctors are not wearing any ring. It is due to their job.

BTW, young couple normally live on a tight budget. No money for fancy & expensive ring. After years of working we will have money to buy a better ring.

I know a friend that pay more than RM10k for a wedding ring. End up owing money to the bank (credit card)
The problems with wearing wedding ring are-there is another ring which we called it engagement ring, which was bought years back in 1990. So time where got money lor, just bought two in a fixed buget. Very small but romantic lor. And later wedding in 1995 we got another ring so now the problem is to wear which one lor. My job is having constantly washing hand every day. If I wear ring my finger will melt already. Being a surgeon not advicible to wear any metal because get burn during surgery. Thats why I cannot wear ring. :)
