Calling ALL Man United Fans.

Since the Thread for Cakap Cakap Bola has been officially closed. May I now start a New Thread to chat on our beloved FC.

United Legend George Best has passed away (1946 - 2005), indeed a sad news to all United Fans. However the good news is that another new Legend is in the making - Wayne Rooney. Hope he will inspire United to greater heights.

Roo: I Want To Be The New BestWayne Rooney yesterday told how he wanted to be remembered like George Best after inspiring Manchester United to a fitting tribute to their greatest player. "I was inspired by him and it's a sad loss for everyone," said Rooney. "George was one of the best players in the world, if not the best. I'm sure I've a long way to go before I get to those heights, but hopefully one day people will talk about me like that."

I am curious to know. Why MU got so many fans and so many die hard fans? How come Chelsea so terror also not that many fans? I know Liverpool got many fans is because of their past glory. MU had dominated after liverpool's glory days and is that why the large fan base? or it is good marketing? So I would reckon in time to come, there will be another large Chelsea fan base coz they are winning trophies?

I am an Arsenal fan because they are the only team i can relate to coz when I started playing FIFA 2000 on PS, they were the first name on the list! haha....

I'm not too sure about that... :amazed: read my comment on the other thread (now closed) to find out why...

On the other hand, it's rare to find someone these days following football without a TV or even Internet - only by reading morning papers (i.e. one day later!!)

Man U 3 West Brom 1

The best way to pay tribute to the Legend is to win 3-1 last nite. What more Ronaldo wearing jersey No. 7 scored the first goal. Heem!! Funny eh? Anyway it was a good win and hopefully MU will progress further in the Cup competition. The young lads played well and I am glad that Saha scored the second. More good things to come. Next is this Saturday with Pompey at Old Trafford - Bestie's Funeral Day.

I guess most (if not all) Manchester United fans would agree with this - that supporting this club means dealing with all kinds of uncertainties.

This club has the aura, tradition, tragic moments, suspense and stupendous achievements being many FIRSTS in the English soil.

There is never one boring moment - unlike the Pools which is so ever predictable or Boring, Boring Arsenal/Arsene..

This Saturday is gonna be special, AGAIN.

Can MU get Ballack?

MU (Sir Alex Ferguson, that is) DOESN'T want Ballack....

If you asked me, 2 reasons comes to mind; either : -

(a) Ballack demands too much or jual mahal

(b) SAF decides that at 29, Ballack might need another season or two to adjust. There's a risk factor in there

Other than the above two, it's confirmed that Chelsea FC have VERY clear idea who to pursue in the market for success - just by looking at MUFC shopping list.

That Peter Kenyon is a real modern day Judas Iscariot...

Yeah, 100% Agree with James. Chelsea is in it for fun. They will buy Ballack and then put him on the bench.if Ballack unhappy, Chelski will just loan him out to their feeder club in Russia. huh!! Does Man U need Ballack. maybe not. should spend on someone younger and not that demanding.

Used to be in this order (from the olest to the youngest striker at MUFC) 1998-1999 season:

Sheringham
Dwight York
Andy Cole
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Now that He is back perhaps for a very short term (i.e. 1-2 years), the order should read like this:

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Ruud Van Nistelrooy
Louis Saha
Wayne Rooney
Giuseppe Rossi

Guess who's the next Baby Faced Assasin?

Long Live Man Utd! :)

James, whatever it is, I just hope MU beats Benfica in the last group match. Failing to do so, Fergie may have to leave. I heard over the radio this morning that MU is looking for a new manager. Guus Hiddink is the prime candidate but they are also considering Martin O'neal.

Remember this song or rather the MU Terrace chants:

Que Sera, Sera..Whatever will be, will be..

Sometimes it's better for MU to loose; for the directors to go out and look for replacement or buy new players just like the 98 season.

Whatever that is, Man Utd will be unsinkable because the fans based is strong (some are fanatic.... errr.. like me! hahaha)..

I think Ottmar Hitzfeld would also be considered because he has the European experience - in short, he's tried and tested...

Maybe Man U should buy Juninho Pernambucano to ganti Beckham... deadliest free-kick taker i've ever seen. The man has got no respect for distance or a goal-keeper's reputation. Asal free-kick saje, he'll hantam the ball towards the goal.

Donno if he can cross as well as Beckham, but he's far more effective with free-kicks than Becks

I beg to differ lah...

MUFC will never die..they might loose a game or fail to qualify but this team always rose from the ashes - WWII, Munich, etc.

In 98 they were losers, in 99 they won the first ever quality treble..

now is time to re-build but domestically there are plenty to fight for (they can certainly concentrate) EPL, FA and League Cup which they're still in..

SAF had become jaded over the years - making some bizzare decisions - selling Yip Yap Stam, David Beckham (ok you can't stand le paparazzi but surely there's a better way to deal with that..), Phil Neville, etc..

Bring on Ottmar Hitzfeld or someone like Stevie McClaren (with Brian Kidd as the AM) would sure be better than Alex and Carlos the Clown at the moment.

Yeah 4 nil. I could not believe it. Should have bet big on Man U?? I watch that game last nite and I was wide awake. Did not have a chance to doze off. The game was one of the best they have played so far after beating Chelsea of course. The game was fluid, free flow and attacking all the way. All MU players rised to the occasion man. However they put the brakes on the 70 mins onwards? Then AF brought in Ronaldo (big mistake). This guy is off form big time. Should knock his head 10 times to wake him up. Cannot imagine Rio Ferdie to score after 140 games with ManU. hahaha! Should do more of that especially thru corner kicks. Oh well what a day to remember. I bet more to come. Should have played like that in the last two games. Anyway the most important point is MU win and hope for Chelsea to drop points especially this Sunday with Arsenal.

I think Guus HIddink would do a good job.. look what he did with South Korea and PSV.. no stars but can still perform.
Steve Maclaren so so.. look at Middlesborough.. quite defensive and boring at times..

Mebbe the exit from the Champions League is a wonderful blessings in disguise. Afterall, why compete in Europe when tactically, MUFC is in disarray!

Looking at it retrospectively, Man Utd could now emulate the team of 93/94 season when Cantona, Hughes, Kanchelskis, et. al. almost did it with a Domestic Treble (League, FA & League Cup)... after they have have been knocked out in the same Champions League..

Let's hope history will repeat itself.

ya loook at the way they play...fantastic atm
this is the real MAN FC
rooney and nistelroy are superb
JS PArk is fantastic
the only let down is ronaldo...need to shake his head a bit
he is so promising when he just arrived at MANFC
maybe they pay him too high salary?

yes...!!! and despite whatever Schmikes is saying..[I think he's just trying to throw a challenge to the current team cos deep down he want MUFC to do well]

to be fair to Ronaldo, he's had a difficult year so far - father passed way, accused of rape by some silly women, house got broke in and lost some money, etc...

but he'll be back - that i'm sure of it - looking at how he made a fool of Aston Villa's defenders with his stupendous behind-his-heel chip to the front of the goal mouth. Superb!!! :)

JC, let the MU fans yak as much as they can. Let the result this year do the talking.

Yeah, MU is the best. They are the only team challenging Chelsea for the premiership title this season. They are the only team that beat Chelsea so far. The lost to Benfica and knocked out of CL because on bad luck and poor referee. They are coping so well without Roy Keane.

Read the Star paper today, Schmeichel said that only Rooney is worthy and has the passion for football. The rest are more concerned for fame and diamonds (in particular, Rio Ferdinand). How sad. :(

This is the beginning of a new and great era. SAF has done it before - building 2 great teams in the 90s. I'm sure that he can do it again despite Chelski's financial muscle.

This team will beat Chelsea again - if not on financial - definitely on the field with a never-say-die spirit.

That Pete "Traitor" Kenyon habitual liking for MUFC players target list will soon be found out. Like Jose Maurinho, his days are numbered....

2-0 not thrashing lah, Fulat. I watched the game and I say that a draw would have been a fair result. Three decisions/factors that costed Arsenal the game.

1. Van Persie's disallowed goal was a GOAL!!!
2. Essien should have been sent off for elbowing, that's the rule of the game.
3. The referee, Rob Styles was siding Chelsea.

Anyway, I think Chelsea will falter a little over the Christmas season. They will be having a tight schedule.

OIC, Congrats KoChun, Pool really thrashed Everton man. HAHA! Guess who was sent off - Philly Neville (anger in him still deep in). Eh! Watch out that Gerald man. nearly kena send off in the Newcastle match. Poor Bowyer!! I guess previous red cards didn't help him at all. Wow!! that Giraffe Crouchie damn power man, send Bowyer flying with just 1 push.

Aisay man!! Man Utd only manage a draw but the good thing is they are scoring. Waliau Birmingham played like there were no tomorrow. Maybe AF kesian S.Bruce. Give chance so that Stevie won't get sacked soon. The good news is Ole Solksjaer was on the bench and played the last 8 minutes. Don't we love him. Glad that he is back in the first team now. Hope he will stay there and perform like what he used to. Heem!! I still wonder why Bir City fans booed Ronaldo in that match. James, Any clues??

Aiseh man! why you so shallow one? They get paid for what they have which you and me dont have. If you run around the field for 90mins non stop and occasionally 120 mins, get kicked and elbowed with a little pain killer, continue to run, kick the ball halfway across the field accurately (i also cannot throw so accurately) and score goals consistancy with 3-4 buggers trying to bring you down, then maybe you will also get paid as much as them. And when you get the money, you go drinking, womanizing, fighting...etc well, that is your rights to riches. Anyway, just saw a fight in front of a poppy the other day, and another in Velvet and once in Loft. They all looked very drunk but are definately not footballers. So what makes them different from us when they can make more money then us?

psst!!....I also heard some rich buggers who probably make more money then the footballers are owning illegal joints, smoking pot and even murder to protect their territory....isnt that worst? :weird:

Ability to maintain fit all the time is something to be learned. Look at Steven Gerrard this season, as fit as ever. A professional player must know when not to push too hard, when to train, what diet to maintain, stay away from alcohol and all those stuffs. They are not mere lucky to be fit.

Actually I was very surprise with that. Maybe Keane and Viera is no longer in the team. Just too bad, chelsea is way beyond the chasing pack. I took 2 cups of coffee to keep me awake last night. Ability to maintain fit all the time is something to be learned. Look at Steven Gerrard this season, as fit as ever. A professional player must know when not to push too hard, when to train, what diet to maintain, stay away from alcohol and all those stuffs. They are not mere lucky to be fit.

being fit and being injury-free is diff...one u can control, the other one u kenot....i do respect Lampard for able to be injury free.......

Yah, agreed with you 500,000 pound in hand for the trip to OT. a lot of money for a non league team. I guess Man U was their saviour just like what they did for Exeter last year. haha!

Well really disappointed with the game with 11 reserve team players playing with the exception of Silvestre (which he will be benched soon). At a moment I tot they were playing Beach Soccer with that kind of sandy pitch. HAHA. I bet it was a tough pitch to play in.

Fulat was right. Burton tot they have won the FA cup with that draw. They even pose with the banner "We are going to Old Trafford" haha, Chairman of Burton was smiling all the way to the bank.

Anyway a good run out for the MU reserve team. A good lesson on why there are not in the first eleven. Solkjaer looks very cautious in that game, maybe he just to scared to get injured again. Well looking at the condition of the pitch, I would too. Just the the field at Teluk Batik used to hold Pesta Lumut. hahaha. Mayb with the money earn from OT trip, they can improve the pitch at the Pirelli Stadium.

Next is Blackburn this Wednesday, Hope AF field the strongest 11. Maybe Vidic would make his debut. Evra too early. Hope both of them is a good buy. And maybe win us some goals thru free kicks and corner kicks.

Yeah. Done and dusted. Evra is in the team. Taking No. 3 jersey (left vacant by Phil Neville). He should start tonite in league cup first league semis with Blackburn. Another tough away game. MU should win at least by 1 goal.

Vidic is taking the number 15 jersey (it has been a while since some one took this number, if i recall it was Ronny Johnson ages ago). Vidic is not match fit, so he could possibly start on 18 Jan replay with Burton. Vidic is the Stam in the making. Need to brush up his English tho.

So now left number 16 to be filled. Possible Thomas Gravesen?? Maybe? not sure?

I hope Man U will play the first 11 tonite and not to take any more risk on putting the reserve team. Should win comfortably if the hit it right tonite.

Mates,

Man Utd problems lie in getting a Creative Midfielder (in the mold of Cantona or Sheringham) which we haven't got anyone of that calibre at the moment. The ones (like Zidane) is not available

So, Gravesen ain't gonna solve the problems..

Our line ups:

We have 10 "above par" Defenders NOW (Ferdinand, Brown, Silvestre, Neville, O'shea, Pique, Bardsley, Vidic, Evra and of course, Heinze. This will be the strongest department.

Strike Force - Nistelrooy, Rooney, Saha, OGSolskjaer, Rossi

Midfield - Scholes, Park, Smith, Fletcher, Ronaldo & Richardson (all defensive or hardman type..)

All in all, I think that old man (SAF) knows his stuffs. I believe that once that "man" is in hand, Man Utd would be a different team!

Yeah, agree with you James. Last night MU really struggled in midfield (without Scholes) Was a tough test. Coming out with a 1 all draw was a fair result (aiya a lot punters lost lah last night). This Pedersen is flying man and keep scoring goals. Blackburn is a team to watch, winning 5 games in a row before last night. On the brighter side, Man U thrashed Burton 5 nil last nite in the FA 3rd Round Replay. SAF still played the same starting line up with the addition of Fletcher (Took the risk again - phew). Rossi played well with two goals and 2 assist. Good game for them. However need to prove more.

Ronaldo is suspended. That leaves Wayne Rooney and RVN in front. Winger is either RGiggs or KRichardson with PEvra backing up. I think Fergie will go for experience hence, Giggs and OGSolskjaer will wing the team.

Hooray !! Man Utd 4 Fulham 2. Crazy game with lots of goals. The silly boy Ronaldo scored 2, I would say he scored a superb freekick and a tight corner shot. Yippee for Asia!! Park Ji Sung scored his first goal, i bet you headlines in Korea today. Good that Saha is keeping his scoring form. Keep it up Man U.

See I told you, blackburn lost 2 nil to west brom. This always happen to teams when they beat man u, the week before?? They always lose after. Good to bet against them. haha

Now just hope tonite Liverpool will beat Chelsea or at least hold them to a draw. The new pool no. 11 should score.

Glory glory Man Utd!!

Chelsea 2 Liverpool 0.

Game Over!! The EPL title is Chelsea's again. Chelsea are unbeatable. What a run.. Sorry for Pool to lose in that manner. Was really depending on Pool to hold them. But ....

Is it the begining of the end for Pool!! I hope so..... Losing Reina was such a pity. Look at the bright side Pool Fans, it could have been worst ... 4 nil??

Now Man U for 2nd spot!! Can lah!

Quiz 1:

Which was the only team in EPL that beat Chelsea in 2005/2006 season?
A: Liverpool
B: Arsenal
C: Wigan

All the above is wrong.

The answer is MANCHESTER UNITED

GGMU!!

This Arjen Robbens should be in Hollywood lah! damn good acting. Crespo also. They both can tag team and win Academy awards. I think Chelsea is really strong but I dont think the players should start acting like kids. Reina turn round and touch Robben's face, he fell like kena punched by the Undertaker. This Crespo also the same, at the corner of the field, a Pool defender stole the ball from him, Crespo fell and grasp his leg like kena figure of four lock. The referee mou tiu and let the game carry on, our friend can just stand up like nothing happened and continue running. The TV camera captured his every move.

Chelsea can be a great team, i think probably the best time in England right now and for a long time. Guess even Pool or MU at their peak will also be hard to defeat them but resorting to WWE style acting to gain advantage is really a shame. They can be great champions but guess they are only good and not great.

What a Shame!!! That Arjen Robben guy + Essien + Crespo. They can be greatest Tenor (Pretender).

Having said that, Pool sucks big time! That Crouch looks dumb clumsy at best while Liverpool was giving too much respect for CFC. People like Kewell went into hiding and in the end, only Gerrard, Riise and Reyna are the only ones still alive in that dead team. They certainly don't look like EPL champions for a long, long time!

I beg to differ lah, F'Lat! CFC can dominate for one or two years but the characteristics of team expensively assemble is they need constant changes and buying of new players.

Arsenal until the day I get my xbox 360 (if can get for free lah!) and starts playing with other teams!! hahaha.... I have always enjoyed watching the way Arsenal played until recently when they lost the touch after selling away all their strong mid-fielders like Edu and Viera. What a shame!!!

It is always fun to watch a game full of attack rather then defend. Guess ppl like MU for that too.
