I was travelling alone along NPE on Thursday evening. I was heading toward Sunway. After the tunnel, a car beside me move so fast and suddenly move in front of my lane. With out any indication that he wanted to come in. I pressed on my brake pad immediately. Due to some rain, my car skidded & hit the divider.
I was told by the work shop that I may have to write off the car.
Thank God that I am alive. I suffer no injury. But I was really in the state of shock.
A tow truck came. I told them that I want my car to be tow to X's work shop. They took me to a police station & allowed me to lodge a police report. After the police report was lodged. I was told by the police that they need to fine me for driving recklessly. No investigation done. What nonsense is this. It was not my fault.
The moment I walk out the police station, those guys who where towing my car refuse to tow my car to X's workshop. The refuse to release my car unless I pay them RM350. I walk straight in to the police station & made further report. The police really don't care about me. Just said try to settle it.
The tow truck drivers are really gangster.
What is going on?
Not many driver today would use their signal light to indicate which direction they are going to turn. Why can't they do it
Breaks my heart to hear such things!!! :(

OMG, write off the car? That must be in total wreak? Glad that you are still in one piece.
Aiyah, some drivers are like that wan la. You should take down that car number and report him also. Since you are a lawyer, I know you are handling it well. No need me to teach. Haha.. I know crap only.

So time to promote proton car :D
Theoretically, it's true...if the car easily kemek, the car will absorb more impact and the driver and passenger more safe.

You said it..
A lot a people go.. "EEeee.. that car you wan ar? That day I saw that car hor.. the front part all kemek u know...still wan ar?"
They just do not know that the kemek-ing is the impact absorbing part which takes the grunt of the impact away from the passenger cabin.

unfortunately when the system is so deeply entrenched, a total revolt is needed to make a change...
Voon Chan

Let me share with you some Malaysian mentality
I get a summon. It is RM300.
If I bribe the police it is RM50-150only.
No hassle.
No need to go to court
Time, reputation & money can be saved.
My one day pay is more than that.
I want it hassle free
LiLiaN
11-21-2005, 05:55 PM
but if everyone believes in that fundamentally, then no change can be made... :(

People must not give chance to the police to fine us.
Obey the law & the police shall have no chance to arrest us.
This must be our 1st change.

i am not sure how heavy is the information censorship nowadays in m'sia...
but surely if people come together, some improvement can be made..?
i know how you feel, to be right on track yet wronged by the law...
my stepfather has been stopped for speeding (when he wasn't!)...
and the police were asking for, you know, coffee and tea money...
he refused to, and he was given a summon on the spot...
i was totally dumbfounded... authority framing the citizens!!

Oh dear... i can totally identify with how you feel that time. It's really scary. But truly, like what everyone said here... at least you are FINE!! and that's the most important thing. Thought it takes a while to let everything sink in and get over it... you must really count your blessing... that you manage to live another day to still be with your family. I can lose everything for now, but not my family just yet.
Im so glad that you are fine. God's hands were upon you! :)

It's sad to hear the Police Force have not improved despite the recent Commission of Inquiry. One would expect them to improve themselves professionally but sad to say it's still the same.
From what I see, Pak Lah is standing alone in his fight against corruption. The rest are just only paying lips-service. The point is things having been going from bad to worse all these years and I doubt they can be put right within a short span of time.
Chin-up, VC, like you said you can still go back to see your wife and your child. What is gone is only you money which you can make back in a short-while. Thank God you are OK.

Sorry to hear about the accident, VC. You must have done lots of good deeds in order for you to stay in one piece. Thank God for that.
Talking about accidents, I was involved in a car crash at 7 years old at the Edingburgh roundabout. It was during a CNY and my mom was driving. That is when I lost my younger brother who is 5 years old then. The accident was so bad that it came out in the front page of New Straits Times. The car was a total lost.

I think the many 'in-your-face' situations of seeing and experiencing firsthand the screw ups and 'screw you' scenarios people do to others that we have been hearing just rumours about, pretty much confirms and hence upgrade any pessimisms which are just then-unfounded claims and allegories into well proven realistic .....err, realities.

Boy, have I seen and experienced so many, many screw ups involving the so- called authorities (the latest and worst being the labour and industrial court)...I like to think i'm immune already. That is the sort of response i normally anticipate and nowadays I'd rather try to find the silver linings.
