That one was free.......but heck, paying 1mill for a plate is just stupid. I probably can buy specialized plates in Seattle for $25 bucks a year.

I know that US banks here do keep currency with 8's or B's to sell to rich chinese business people that will pay a lot for it.

Well, if i am not mistaken, the public does call in to complain about offensive plates. Like recently, there was a plate F-Dubya.....and after public complain, it was taken off the roads. So if your name is Richard and have good justification, it should be ok, if not, it will be difficult. But its only US$25 bucks.

Frustrated lah. So got to let off my steam. Yesterday, after having dinner with Big Bau, small Bau and HC ling, when I returned to my car, found my number plate was stolen, both front and back and it was nicely stolen. The thief even put back the screws on to the car after removing it. So today have to get it replaced. Then, early morning have to attend a World Bank Conference on Investment Climate and Competitiveness for East Asia. Later, have to attend the ASEAN Business Advisory Council meeting in preparation for the ASEAN Summit and East Asia Summit in KL next month. Damn busy, lah. :sad-2:

There are category of numbers. The 'hot' ones start with RM2000. Bidding is a simple process. Just go to JPJ and get a form. The conditions are stated clearly on the board. Also, the past winning bids are posted on the notice board. Very transparent now. If you are there, look out for the car numbers that the politicians bid for. Gomen has outsourced car fleet management to a company and the bid is under the company's name. In the bid it is mentioned by by 'company xyz on behalf of Datuk ABC'

Are we encouraging the JPJ to earn big bucks from all these biddings? The numbers will be taken up anyway if it's in running order. But now they reserve all the supposedly good and hot ones knowing that it will sell like hot cakes. :(

Tern Yew is medium bau, lah. I am referring to small bau, Tern Lik.
Number nothing fanciful. Also my family birthday month. I think they are trying to use false number plate to commit a robbery or something like that.

I know of someone in Swan who bought the no 5454 and got into accident almost immediately. He then reinterprete it as fai (five) sei, fai sei...which means die quick in Canton...and got rid of it.
My hubby's first car ACL 848, but sold off already, didn't retain the number.

She ordered a Proton G2 and wanted a double numbers, e.g. xxyy, The salesman proceeded to check the numbers at JPJ and reporterd back to her that 6767 is available. She agreed. When she got the car a week later and drove it home, the mother got a shock and marched to the sales outlet to demand to change the number. Of course, the salesman cun do it.
