Hi fellas, I mean for this to be some kinda continuation to 'Life Canvasses' with a twist..So lessee how this goes wokay?
..Was driving home tonight from 1 Utama, when perchance had a glance at the night sky. Kinda weird but that triggered in me a flashback to a time when the sight of these stars filled me with wonder. Couldnt have been older than 7 then. I read somewhere that its no use showing a miracle to children. For to a child everything they see, touch and smell IS, a miracle. I tapped into that feeling ever so briefly tonight, and it felt sooo good.
....looking at Iman, sleeping in the back seat. Remembered when I was her age, took every opportunity to sleep in the car when parents were the ones driving around....what goes around comes around they say, and how true it is in this case...hope she enjoys 'time' doing this, I know I sure did. :)
'These bring me back, And here is where I'll remember them..'

ahh...good idea Naz :)
*raise hands* me too agree wat wat kochun has agreed to...consistent with d law of life!
btw...when i was young eh...never realli used to sleep much in car...unless when im super-duper tired. i remeber myself as the onli sibling (my 2 younger ones wud fall into a slumber once enter car je  ) who'd remain awake for most part of our long long esp balik kpg journeys...and take in things in the surrounding...i found so many things fascinating...the canopy formed by trees, the smelly lorries carrying lifestocks, factories...signs of nature/development...and most of all (yup Naz)...the sky & horizan...be it day o night! ~ and ONE of d greatest lessons the sky has thought me is that every single second is magical u know...it keeps changing, the colours...clouds...etc etc. i even skygaze when walking at night --> sigh...how i miss all those
...and still do :D except when im driving, have to concentrate on road, not sky (though i wish to)
d thing is, i bliv....we have to closely tap into the child within us, appreciate the beauty & miracles of Life tatz been created & dished in front of us...rather than ggo thru motions of life like zombies...and grow weary and tired of our existence!
will contribute more nest time k...bye for now!

here's another one. ever had the experience where your sense of smell suddenly picked up a whiff from the past, and your heart just regressed back to a little kid, for ever a short moment. I had experienced that twice this year, and the one I remembered was the smell of Miami, Florida. The feeling lasted all of two seconds, but it sure broght back weeks of memories.....Sea World, Disneyworld, Las Vegas.......sweeettttt.

The smell of brand new erasers (rubber) brings me back to my kindergarten days.... when i used to wear bubblegummers shoe, a Supersonic Man get-up (complete with cape and mask) and a red Mickey Mouse waterbottle with strap.
In kindergarten, I used to wait patiently the whole day just for the plastecine session... so that i can play-act making roti canai and thalcha. My dream those days was to become either a roti canai maker, a bus driver (my hero was my bus driver - Ah Seng) or a superhero with a cape. Sad how my life turned out....

Yeah dream, I forgot all about the smell of rubber rasers. Primary school, thats the time those thingys bring ME back to..getting new pencil boxes, rubber erasers, Oh yeah! I now recall the very first gadget I ever got..check this out: A DOUBLE SIDED MULTICOMPARTMENTALISED .....pencil case!!!! I think thats when my love for gadgets really started. It was a good time, those days when getting pencil boxes and multicoloured lemon smelling rubbers was a really big deal to us. Thank for bringing that up, dream I will remember the magical feeling I used to have when I next buy those new pencil cases, erasers, and school bag for my daughter (not forgetting the crisp fresh smell of new exercise books too) and look at her recalling how she must be feeling getting those new things, hopefully the magic will come back to me too.

I use to like those eraser too
Always try to keep it & not to use it because I like the shape or smell
After a while, I realised that "shit", the smell will fade away
Don't know why I developed such a liking when I was young?

How many of you guyz remembered saying that to your parents when your were a wee child? How we wanted to have them cuddle us and comfort us.

Speaking of which.....I am out and out a MILO person. Thanks to Mom. But there was one time in secondary school i was drinking OVALTINE like a boy possessed. Reason, Ovaltine came out with a World Cup sticker book, where you paste all the world cup teams stickers, complete them and send it it for a prize. I completed them, sent the sticker book to Ovaltine, got the plastic water bottle gift.....Looking back, I should have just kept the book.....stupid stupid stupid stupid (witchking reliving his kicking-himself-in-the-ass moment from yesteryears in the ofis)

This is a scary recollection. In my childhood I am always tormented by one very very specific and often repeating nightmare. The nightmare is always EXACTLY the same....The happenings in the nightmare isnt even too scary but it always manages to make me wake up in fear and cold sweat..I think the dream only ended when I reached puberty..
I am in what looks to be a desert. I am following what looks like a large and very very very dark skinned man. I cant see his face becoz he has his back towards me.
We continue walking and he leads me to a bonfire. It is daylight, but there was a bonfire none the less. It was a reasonably big bonfire. The man walks away, and then I see some women and kids (i not sure about this. It FELT like there were kids, mebbe 2.) THey are also very very very dark skinned. THe women were talking, and they were eating something.... in the back of my mind, I know they were eating human flesh.
...and the dream ended just like that. I would wake up terrified every time this exact same dream came to me.
Anybody has any comments on this. WOuld really like to hear from anyone whos had similar experiences of fearful dreams THAT ARE EXACTLY THE SAME EVERYTIME.....

My kids are asleep, they were playing actively together earlier according to Noor. When my brother and myself were younger we were quite a handful for Mama, but I never heard her complain to Bapak or anyone. For Noor's case I reckon that no matter how much the two girls wanna make her tear her hair out.....they still were HER TWO GIRLs, and she is actually watching them grow right in front of her eyes.....guess that compensates for anything else....me? well they like to manja2 and try to get their way with me if asking Noor fails. Since I dun see them as much as Noor, I am 100% guilty of trying to overcompensate!

I just lurve haircuts....had one just this afternoon. The thing that does it for me? the feel of hard cold steel making its way behind the nape of my neck snipping away with goose bumps popping up in its trail...thereafter, a good stiff thump or two from the barber right cross my neck, then the neck twist with the ever soo satisfying ....'CCRRAACCCKK!!'....TWICE!

Last weekend, I was in Sitiawan with James.
He picked me up from my house & we went to Lumut & Teluk Batik together.
I really get the feeling that we were in secondary school again.
It was really fun. Lumut & Teluk Batik really change so much.
At one moment, I wish that everything is still the same
On second thought, If there is no development, it will be a "ghost town".
Those are the places that we use to enjoy the sunrise & sun set together.
I can still remember all the scout camp sites in Teluk Batik.
I was their photographer those days.
James, if you are reading this post, Thank you very much.
I will always cherish our friendship

Granted this story was before I entered ACS; rather when I was still in the Ipoh school that made me went, 'oh my God, i just enrolled into Buckingham Palace..!'
Anyways when I was in this school that is now unfortunately known as 'Ipoh Gay Central', I would sometime not take the main entrance to go back home, but use the rear exit up a flight of stairs. This ends me up facing a dirtcobbled road facing a river and a bridge to the right of it....a lot of other students end up here for good reason. And that, would be the odd vendors or two that sell Siamese fighting fishes, neatly stacked up in a triangular pattern, displaying their myriad of beautiful colours. Once we'd have our fill of them, its off to the ice cream salesman with their 'tikam wheel'......those were times when you couldnt taste the 'commercialism' of ice creams, not a tinge of it anywhere, just good, wholesome, pre-puberty indulgence which at this moment, makes you wonder how you can reclaim the magic and feeling......

Yesterday, I was walking on the road, I saw a gold colour packing of condom.
I could not stop laughing because it reminded me of something.
When I was 12, I walk into my aunt's room.
Small packets of gold colour wrapping up some thing.
I take a look at it & pressed.
I tried reading the label & still cannot understand
So I decided to ask my aunt what is that "thing"
She could not stop laughing & just tell me "one day you will know"
My aunt husband felt :o
I went back home & took out my dictionary.. I got the answer .
It is a condom & I know what is it for:laugh:

after SPM, me, a friend from boarding school, and 2 other female yearmates of mine (both of whom are registered on the forum, but not too active) decided we would investigate. my friend from boarding school was visiting, and one of my friends we'll call her K worked at the supermarket in wisma ganda (i forget what it's name was - Parkson?). so at the end of my friend K's shift, i went in with my two friends A and B (from Boarding school), casually picked up a box of condoms and went to pay at the register where K was working. was trying to pay, when this chinese lady came running through, yelling "Hallo! (just to recall - K worked at Parkson, this is after SPM tengah tunggu results, A also my buddy from ACS, lepaking, both K and A are on the forum but vely quiet lah... and B is my friend from boarding school).
finally after that excruciating time, i cabut lari and went back. A drove her parents' car - and she and B were waiting there for me. after blasting them for cabuting, we waited for K to finish work - about 5 minutes later K came running into the car. we all drove to the old pasar toddy (sorry very un-PC name - i can't remember what the new name of that place is) by doctor guru's clinic. sat in the car and impatiently opened the box. it was a pack of 3 - extra large, and multi colored!! we were all like - EH, ini pun got size ka???? (all of us are girls in the car, k?). but we thought for a bit, and that made sense. but we thought what if the guy thought he was XL, and bought XL condoms but then when the time came it would fall right off because unfortunately the poor dear is not XL???
anyway, we tore open one of the packages, it was green and icky. we all went "ewwwwwww" and nobody wanted to touch it. so very gently we unfurled it, and all laughing like mad because it looked so stupid. hijau pulak tu!! then we tried to get the car a/c to fill the thing with air - but cannot liao. so we tossed this condom (littering) and cabut back to my house.
my mum was at school, my dad at work, hisham was in scotland, my grandma was downstairs... so we went upstairs and filled condom #2 with water. it was quite fun until it bust in the bathroom, luckily. (i think that's what we did with #2). but #3 was the most fun - i got my bicycle pump and brought it upstairs, then the 4 of us took turns pumping the thing.
damn big oiii like ICBM missile only!! it was bright PINK oso!! we were all laughing until we wanted to pee in our pants...
we blew it up bigger and bigger until it exploded ALL OVER THE ROOM!! aiyaaaa all of us running around picking up little pink pieces of condom from the sofa, the floor, the carpet, the bookshelves... :o :o
3 minutes later, my mother got home from school. wah laooooo.. she asked us why we looked so guilty. all of us said "who? us? nothing....where got lah..."

This is gonna sound weird, but......when did you realise that you were , welll...'alive'?? ie when wuz the first time you started going, 'I think, therefore I Am.'
Mine was during a time (cant remember when exactly, mebbe 1976) Malaysia was hosting some kinda Hockey World Cup, I remember coz I liked the logo design very much...
So there I was admiring the t-shirt at a market stall, when suddenly the realisation that I wuz sentient suddenly hit me. It wuz like,
'Wait, I Am. People Are. Things exist. Within this wrapped up mass of flesh and bones, I am essentially 'alone'. Need to interact wit people to escape the claustrophobic feeling of singularity..'
...Just to share, and I am not NVTS.

Was raining in Taman Velox this morning. Perchance I grabbed sight of a 8 year old kid walking back from his mom's grocery errand when it started to pour......as the rain came down he walked even slower on account of the rain to be walking wet under it.
......Grown ups, we deny ourselves a lot of the fun we used to just dive into, dun we??

it's very easy to take things for granted.. who hasn't..?
i know i have done that from time to time...
but nowadays try to appreciate everything more than before...
Touche'.......now am making sure I am consciously appreciating wife, kids, and family.........lest they all fade into the nothingness of passed time without me being able to say "I LIVED there and then, and I have NO REGRETS over its departure...."
