Hi May 13,
Just thought i'd reply to your posting. I've been living in NZ for around 9 years. Studied for 4 years at the university of Auckland and been working for over 4 years.
What would you like to know?
A definite tourist spots all around - thermal pools in Rotorua, glow worm caves in Taupo, vineyard country in the Hawkes Bay, winter sports in Mt Ruapehu, bungy jumping and jetboating in Queenstown. The views are to die for - the best promotional/marketing exercise was - Lord of the Rings. Yes, all the panaromic and beautiful landscapes are shot in New Zealand.
Therefore, if you're looking for a holiday with relaxing and nature experience, NZ is great for it. Don't expect to do the running around and shopping type holiday.
If you're looking to migrate, the good thing about NZ residency is that once you quality for 'indefinite' status, you'll have the PR for life (unless there's a policy change down the track). This is definitely a plus compared to other countries such as Australia where you need to renew every four years or so.
Life in NZ is relaxing, families tend to spend quality time with each other, hardly any traffic jams and there's rugby (fantastic sport with the New Zealand All Blacks).
You'll also be surprised as to the number of Sitiawan people who have migrated to NZ over the years. Organised a S'wan gathering last year and easily got 5 tables. Looking to have 10 tables next time.
Well, do drop me a list of questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
Cheers
who r the sitiawanians who've migrated to nz?
