I glance thru' the book before it was published. It was written by my dad's friend who is staying in SS2. I think he is somewhat related to our Ling Ong Sing. My granny's pic is there but not mine :( I dont think this book is available in Kinokuniya. I was told that he spend about 8-10 years on research for this book as there are not many documented materials on the Foo Chows or Sitiawan for that matter.

The author (now I can't remember his name ! ) stays at 21, Jalan SS 2/87, 47300 PJ. You can contact him at 03-78756967. Bumped into him during MATTA fair. He said he only published limited copies and he did not distribute to the book shops. Maybe you can call him to send you a copy.

Yeah, Ricardo, that is your Sitiawan alley and ther was even a dilapidated wooden structure - i think i was too young to comprehend - and the only landmark near your alley that I knew about your alley was a sundry goods shop nearby that was run by a Hokkien speaking uncle - way b4 Hwa Seong came into fame........................
