my advice on doing PhD or not... well, do it if you want to, but don't do it just for the sake of doing it... i've known a good few people dropping out or miserable because they hate research work... if you're passionate about the topic, then well and good...

of course, there's always the lure of better qualification for brighter future, but do consider if you're going to stay in oz or going back to malaysia... you don't want to be qualified just to find that once you're home, you're overqualified and it'll be tough to get a job that suits...
