Just curious, would you buy a lets say 3-5 year old BMW or Merc with low milage and still under warranty?

BMW is a performance car, meaning you need to push the accelerator to the limit once a while. Ask Buff? He is driving one, isn;t he.... Ask him how he feel when he 'tekan minyak kau kau...." Feel the torque man, feel the torque...

Driving a Merc in Asian Countries is for status, in my opinion.

If I have my bank account loaded,

I would get 1 BMW, for weekend drive with my home minister...

I would get 1 Merc also, for maybe, Balik Kampung purposes ??????

hehehehehehee

just kidding...

hmmm....good question Dino posted....I would buy it lor...after I get an opinion about the engine condition...most important part of the car... I am no engine specialist (although engineer....tsk tsk...sad sad). Probably bring a fren, who's an expert in BMW/MERC (haha..dino, can ask fulat/buff) and inspect the car...it could be a good deal! hehe...my 41 sens worth ;)

Yes, lots of reconditioned cars in the market, usually from Japan. Here you will register it as a brand new car. Price also is much cheaper compared to brand new. 90er Scott Peng bought a recon BMW 325 for only around RM170k. Test drove his car, with the sunroof open from Pandan to Puchong.. fuuhhh.. power man.. can feel the torque!
Only thing with this cars from Japan is the radio frequency is different.. hard to tune in to local channels..

no, give me a brand new corolla/prius anytime.. i used to drive one, small easy to park, good mileage, zippy, (hubby got accord at that time) one tiny baby arrives and he has to get a minivan so i inherited his accord...now 6 years later, still running so no need to get another car for a while :)

Dino, BMWs are rather cheap over there, isn't it, I mean compare to M'sia? A friend of mine bought one 2nd hand 318i, a few yrs old, for US 20k. How's the service, repairs like over there in $$$$?
Buff is right about new ones not giving problems but after a few yrs, they will start to have 'coughs and colds, and occasionally headaches' that needs speacialist treatments only. So be prepared to have a 'high class mistress' to take care of. :smile-2:
