Wow VC! U r fast. Okay here is my ball roller.

For those who attended the bbq, m sure u enjoyed the kerabu meehoon. You can get that in a small cake shoppe called 'Mom's Restaurant and Cafe' in Rawang's Bandar Country Home. they also have branch in Rawang town itself.

Make sure your timing is correct though, they only served that kerabu meehoon on Thursday and Saturday! ANd try to go early, they normally finish quickly, its that nice. Have had a few occasions when the waitress said 'Sori, we just served the last one...'

My sister on Saturday refused to eat anythng else exscept the kerabu meehoon, believe it or not!

Ok guys let me chip in on one of the best ayam golek in KL.
It's at Pantai Dalam and Bukit Angkasa by the name of Ayam Golek Nara.
If you're coming from Pantai Hill Park, its just before the junction to the NPE on your left.
You could smell the ayam golek which is barbequed daily from 11am to 9pm but watch out guys, it's often sold out especially during the fasting month where by 5.30pm all 200-300 birds have been sold out.

For me, fasal Malay food - the best place is Restoran Sri Melayu kat Jalan Conlay. Tapi....Harga pooon bole tahan

Comment: I like it because you can drink imported beer and some of the finest wines in that place. Most of the weekdays quite quiet - i.e. you get one or two Mat Sallehs sesat. Weekend - fer'get it. Cultural shows like bersanding and joget lambak ada! Besttt nya mak oooiii... keh..kehh.. :amazed:

Nyonya Food - Restoran Sri Melaka. PJ State

Comment: Two thumbs up for food. 'Nuff said. Personally, it's my "meet the parents" place (if you get what I meant).

Cheers.

Errrrr.....i am not sure if the Yamaha Building is still there or not(its near that building)....but its right along the border of SS2 and Section 17....just a malay stall near some business shops(not in the main part of Section 17)....Kochun or Fishboy or anybody that lived in Happy Mansion should know.....but they are only open for lunch.....

Ok guys, here's another good place.
Ikan Bakar Jalan Bellamy, its located behind Istana Negara.
There's 3 restaurants altogether but the furthest restaurant from the Istana have the best ikan pari, ikan keli (catfish) and sotong bakar!!!!
There's also cendol and ABC served.
For those who want to have a long lunch on Fridays, there's a surau infront of the restaurants which have enough people to conduct Friday prayers.
But bewarned!!!
By 2.30pm on Fridays, most of the fishes have been sold out.

Delicacies: Try getting nasi putih served with kerabu kacang kelisa/kelapa.
Then get any ikan bakar served with air asam or better still, sambal kicap cili api...SLURRRPPPP!!!

I'll be going there next week with my wife.

Have a try for it guys.

KFC Sitiawan???!! The sheer mention of it brought back great memories and smell (honest!). Must admit that I can't afford that meal too often (then) though. Now, the funny thing is I STILL cannot afford to eat that meal too often - probably more due to the fear of being overweight (if I'm not already there) rather than the cost of a dinner plate.

[Comment: At least, some things remain the same for THEN and NOW!]

Still can recall the 1st day when it's opened. Practically every ACS Boyz were lining up for the "Barrel" thing; now 17-18 years later, the last time I was there, I can hardly recognize anyone there. SAD! :sad-2:

having a good dinner with your spouse is fun

Lemme tell you a couple of things, Bro...

One Cardinal Rule - never discuss sensitive** issues on the table or else..... hell break loose, Bro.... Suwey nanti..keh..keh..

NB: Sensitive Issues. The following are my Definitions from James' Dictionary -

No. 1. : "my mother in law is lousy" = (1st degree murder - punishment by shot on the temple/head),

No. 2 : "fancy the lady next table" = life imprisonment or in today's context - sleep out in the couch = Big Oouch!!!

No. 3 : " this is better than having food at home" (read "you are no match for the Chef; not even close") = "Fine!" followed by long faces for the next 24 and a half hours. [makes me wanna take long business trip... ]

So, Bro, Beware of the Lingo...

'ave a nice day..... :amused:

Try it - superb food at a very, very reasonable price.

I went to this reataurant with my wife
The cook is from China.
You walk in there with a clean shirt, you walk out with mutton smell all over you

Ordered Lamb, Brinjal & (can't remember what)
The food was cooked with too much oil
Taste is ok, nothing great
Lamb was pre-cooked, as a result of that, it was not tender

Verdict: Don't go there. Not worth it

Can Halal restaurant sell beer and wine? Is alcohol halal? getting very confused already....

...alcohol is not halal. A 'halal' restaurant that serves halal food but also serves alcoholic beverages should not be calling itself a halal restaurant.

Its not a question of can such a restaurant serve beer and wine, but whether they do or they dont. If they dont, then itsa true blue halal restaurant in every sense of the word. If they do, then its just a restaurant that serves halal food, but provides alcoholic consumption on the side. YOu would be hard pressed to find a restaurant here that claims to be a Halal restaurant if it also provides alcohol on the menu....

The Halal concept extends beyond the normal 'alcohol and pork' subject itemization...it would make a boring reading if I explain it in whatever further detail I still remember from my religious days, lest someone really really wants to know what the whole big deal about 'halal' food is.

My favourite KFC is in Kampar, Perak.

It's where all MYFers congregate after the camp; usually after Cameron Highlands or Frasers.

I like it for nostalgic sake. Went back twice since I came back from overseas. Almost feel the same in the evening except that the crowd (da Boss, Song CM, and many others) that had, once upon a time, graced that restaurant is missing.

Second is in Sitiawan. 'Nuff said.

Sure thing mate.

You suddenly felt that on the way home to Sitiawan to make a "slight detour to Kampar. The other voice tells you its a bit far and cost more in toll and petrol too BUT this little voice is stronger (not necessary louder...) that you may not have a second chance.

Before you knew it, there you are. As I stood in front of that KFC, I see visions of many 15 year olds, 16 year olds ACS kids coming out of that restaurant.. Weird ... but that's how I feel it.

Just my 2 sen worth. If you're travelling from Federal Highway, exit to Jalan Istana towards Sungai Besi. From there, look out for the exit on your left saying Jalan Hang Tuah. Follow that road and keep to your right since immediately after the curve is the entrance to Tupai-Tupai. If you stay on your left you'll turn instead to Jalan Hang Tuah towards the Golden Triangle.
I'm not sure whether will it open during fasting month but during normal days, there's varieties of food and best of all, its masak ala Kampung!!
Do try it you guys :cheesy:

One of the best Mee Bandung that I've ever had was in Muar, Johor. At the Muar bus station, there would be food stalls opened at night.
