Same view on Chelsea, Song. As for Pool, no striker leh. Later I asked Alan and Captain Ching to go there to play for Pool. Fishboy mentioned that these 2 are the on-form strikers at the moment. Pool will not be challenging for the EPL title this season, that I can confirm, though me Pool fan. If can qualify for Champions League, I should be happy :) .

Soton is the flop of the season, with so many talents around like Beattie, Phillips, Fernandez, Le Saux, Omerod, Jason Dodd and etc. I strongly think they are going down and I doubt Norwich will be relegated.

I would prefer the Blues to win as to ARSEnal as I think dat ARSEne Wenger is such a @$*??!!. Arsenal is definitely goin through a bad patch and I hope they stay there forever....(oops, any ARSEnal fan in the forum?)

Soton just can't get their act together. They must resolve their manager thingy. They have too much quality to go down.....

Song CM, I rate Arsena Wenger as the best manager in EPL, even in the world. Just look how he transformed Arsenal in the past decade. Some highlights.

1. Bought Anelka at 800,000 pounds, sold for 1.7mil pounds.
2. The new talents he bought, Fabregas, Toure, Lauren, Pennant and etc.
3. Henry was no one when he joined Arsenal. Today, he is one of the best strikers in the world.
4. Using little money to assemble the whole Gunners squard, with depth somemore.
5. Fergie, the Psycho King cannot could not rattle him. Still remember how he caused Keegan to outbust many years back, and eventually lost the EPL to Man Utd?

BTW, me not Gunners fan hor. Me Pool fan for life (since Big League Soccer days).

For Chelsea to win the EPL or CL, no big deal. Looking at the amount of money they've spent (to the extend of buying the EPL title this season, just a maybe), nothing to hoo haaa about.

Another real flop is Real Madrid. They have superstars but not footballers.

I think so. Start a thread, but ownself no support. Sigh...

fishboy, Pool can arh tonight? No strikers, I think they will defend and play for a draw. A draw is not a bad result, considering that the last group game, Pools will be playing Olympiakos at home. If Pool playing for a draw, they will be punish by Monaca, that I can confirm. Maklumlah, Pool defence also tak boleh pakai nowdays. Sure leak goal one, no 0-0 result, as Monaco will come attacking from the 1st whistle.

Itu lah Pool, as expected, lost 0-1 to Monaco, though that Saviola's goal was a handball goal. Well, that's football, either you like it or not.

As for MU, congrats for topping the group now, beating Lyon 2-1, thus qualifying to the knock-out stage. Meanwhile, Pool got to do what they did to Roma a couple of years back, by beating Roma 2-0 to qualify. Pool has to beat Olympiakos by a minimum 2 goal margin, or risk being knocked out from this group stage. Alternatively, if Deportivo la Coruna beats Monaco, then Pool can still qualify with a 1 goal margin victory. A draw or a defeat in the mast game at Anfield would see Pool playing in UEFA Cup competition.

Judging from their game and inconsistency, sadly, I have to say that Pool is not good enough to challenge in the Champions League competition. Maybe better in the Carling Cup. The fate is in their own hand now. Fellow Pool supporters, keep your fingers crossed.

Yeah...can't argue much here...It look like it is goin to be Chelsea season. For second place, it would be tight between Man U and ARSEnal. Liverpool should be able to nick the last CL spot if they can maintain their form consistently...and buy another striker in Jan and don loose Gerard....

Based on form... Juventus, Milan, Chelsea and ManU.
Italian teams normally do well in the CL due to their watertight defence...
but I do foresee Chelsea faltering in the later stage due to their inexperience but they do have a secret weapon in the form of Morinho.

Players like Mark Smyth and Robbie Foy (do you know them?) will feature tonight. Captain Marvel Gerard is left out for this clash with Spurs as he is not 100% recovered from his injury. I believe new Kop hero, Neil Mellor will be given another chance to prove his worth to the club, as well as to demonstrate that he is ready to fill in the vacuum left by Cisse and Baros.

Having say all, I predict a draw in 90 minutes or Spurs victory.

Pool Rulez! Again. Sorry for The Spurs Supporter (Alk).

I hope Man Utd and Chelsea will not reserve their strength this time since it is semi-final. I remember both MU and Chelsea fielded a strong team in the semi-finals 2 seasons ago and MU won 1-0. However, this time, I fancy Chelsea to nick it.

Kedah....huh...no thank you...

Busy mah, year-end round the corner...got appraisal onelah...so must work (pretend also can) harder....

Okie...very good weekend for the top 4 clubs...all won convincingly except for Everton...but full marks for the Evertonians for winning despite tralling twice.

I can only comment for one match as I only saw 1 - of course Man U vs Saints...daBoss... sorry man, saints are pathetic.... As for Man U, the performance esp in the second half was top class...i personally think their best so far...with the likes of Giggs and Scholes coming back to form. Hey, they should threaten Giggsy more often with the one year extension so that he will strive to perform better....but sayin dat, also worry dat Giggs might leave....

Ronaldo, wat can I say...a total genious but can be a total pain at times...look at his miss.....but he make sure for it with a superb goal...He should be less elaborate at times....the devils are back!! :D

YESSS!!! Man Utd is back!!

I feel Ronaldo should cross the ball quicker if there are strikers running into the penalty box. If it is a 1 to 1, then he can show off his skills and try his luck. I would like to see Giggs end his career as a Red Devil but ...

To be honest, Saints will get relegated this season!! Pompey supporters can celebrate when that happens.

A 1-0 victory over Olympiacos in Liverpool’s final Champions League match on December 8 will take the Reds into the last 16 of the competition.
Despite many reports indicating the Reds can only progress by virtue of a two goal success, UEFA’s criteria for separating teams who finish on equal points says Rafa’s men will progress if they win either by 1-0 or a two goal margin.

If Liverpool beat Olympiacos at Anfield then both clubs will finish the campaign on ten points each. So how do the Reds finish ahead of their Greek counterparts with a 1-0 win?

After points gained the next criteria is to see which team has the superior goal difference from games played between the two sides. In this case it would be level as Olympiacos won 1-0 in Athens and Liverpool will have won 1-0 at Anfield.

Then UEFA look at the number of away goals scored in the games between the two teams. Again, we didn’t score over there and they won’t score over here if the match finishes 1-0.

Next, it comes down to goal difference from all the games played in the group and this is where Liverpool would prosper with a 1-0 victory.

Liverpool’s goal difference would be +2 while Olympiacos’ would only be +1. So the Reds will go through.

However, a 2-1 or 3-2 success is off little use to Liverpool if Monaco also win their final game in La Coruna as Olympiacos would then have scored an away goal, taking them through instead by virtue of the earlier criteria set out by UEFA.

A two goal winning margin will see Liverpool qualify from achieving better head to head results against Olympiacos over the two games.

It may seem confusing, but so long as we win 1-0 or by two goals then we are definitely into the last 16.

I score 3, pongolay 3, gerad 3. That will be 9!!! Arhhh... me day dreaming.

If Pool scores an early goal, they will defend deep and hope for counter attack. I predict an early goal (<20 mins) from Pool. Then they defend like crazy. However, if Olympiakos scores 1st, then Pool attack like crazy. Only then we can see real entertaining football.

I hate it when Pool plays anti-football or negative football, like they did in Nou Camp (Barca) a couple of seasons ago in the UEFA Cup semi-final (0-0 result). Back in Anfield, they won 1-0 thru McAllister's penalty. That year, they won the UEFA Cup by beating Alaves 5-4.

My dear Song CM, this is definitely a general statement. Just look at those girls (so called MU supporters). By the way, I am not jealous, okay? I admit I am no where near Beckham. You'll be surprise that some of these girls will tell you that last night Beckham scored for Real Madrid, through freekick and not knowing MU won 3-0. I am quoting an example only.

I have no doubt that you know MU more than me. Just ask around the so-called supporters. Do they know Brian McClair, Gary Pallister, Steve Bruce, Andrei Kanchelski, Eric Cantona (they may know this one, legend mah), Bryan Robson, Mark Hughes, Ray Wilkins and etc. You may name more than I do because you MU supporter mah.

Cannot recall a Dutch legend who predicted Holland not to do well in Euro. He said that the Dutch team consisted of more 'superstars' than footballers. What to do? Football today is getting so commercialised. Every weekend, we will have easily 5-6 live games on EPL, out of the total 10 possible games. That says it all.

Frankly speaking, I do not expect Pool to progress far in their Champions League quest. The team is still too inexperienced, inconsistent and injury problems. Nevertheless, I will still continue to support them (no matter who the meet in the knock-out stage) and wake up early in the morning to watch them play.

Finishing 2nd in the table, Pool will not be the main seeds. An English team cannot meet an English team in this stage too. I expect them to meet a group champion. Listed below are group champions.

Monaco (not possible)
Juventus
Leverkusen
Lyon
Arsenal (not possible)
AC Milan
Inter Milan
Chelsea (not possible)

With the remaining 5, I think the easier opponents will be Lyon and Leverkusen. Inter still can lah, but please don't meet Juventus or AC Milan.

Hmmm.....

Do you think dat Fergie is also #$%^&^ ??

Well, the truth is out there again.

Football (other sports as well) is becoming a business. Ever wonder how they get so much money to buy players like Zidane, Beckham, Rooney (crazy deal)? If you were to calculate the ticket collection for all the games, it is definitely way not enough for all these crazy signings.

Why are Chinese players like Li Tie and Sun Ji Hai playing in EPL? Are they really that good? I think it is more for the China market. Can you imagine if 0.1% of the China population were to buy the football jersey? How much will that come to?

Is Yao Ming really a damn good basketball player? I see it as a business plan too.

Why is Chang Beer from Thailand sponsoring Everton's jersey? Why did Thai PM, Thaksin wanted so badly to buy Liverpool? Thailand has got the most Pool fans in this region.

Sometimes away (and home) games can be very kelong. Take for example those FA Cup ties. Big team will draw with a small team when playing away from home. They lose the betting handicap, collect the money from the bookies. Back at home, they eventually win the game and of course collect the tickets from their fans. The handicap will normally be big, let's say 1 1/2. If punting is too heavy on them, then they win by a single goal margin. Once again, collect money from the bookies and progress to the next round. Football is becoming like WWF wrestling!!!

I can go on and on and on and on. Guess got to stop here for now. May write more later. Scared you get bored (Song CM).

I must say Everton surprises me this season..I guess selling Rooney was a good decision for the club and its players. They are really hardy....all they need is a goal and they can defend the lead very effectively.

The commentator was just saying that Everton has won more matches this season than the whole of last season.....dat is impressive...

Final score, Arsenal 2-2 Chelsea. Early 2nd half equaliser by Eidur Gudjohnsen. Both teams were equally good, I guess.

Now, Chelsea looks good for the EPL title, but by dropping 2 points, they have given MU the opportunity to close the gap. MU playing Fulham tonight. A victory will narrow down the gap to just 7 points.

Prediction, convincing victory to MU.

Well, check out the Star paper today. The referee defended his decision to allow that 2nd Henry's goal and provided his reasons. To a certain extend, I agree with him.

Anyway, Fulham just held MU to a 1-1 draw, with a 88th minute equaliser from Diop. That means the gap between MU and Chelsea is still 9 points away. It will be an uphill task for MU to overtake Chelsea. Anyway, in football, nothing is impossible. Some more got kelong leh.

Diop's screamer was superb, better than Gerrard's screamer against Olympiakos. Can't blame the keeper though.

Yup, I watched Malaysia-Thailand game. The 2nd half display was 'boleh tahan' lah. 1st half was pathetic. 2 good goals from Khalid Jamlus, especially the 2nd one. Congrats to Malaysia for qualifying for the semi.

Song, I pick Singapore, together with Indonesia to qualify as well. Vietnam and Laos still stand a mathematical chance to qualify. The truth will be revealed tonight.

WIFE's DIARY

Sunday night - I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a cafe to have some coffee. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment.

Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk, he agreed but he kept quiet and absent. I asked him what was wrong - he said, "Nothing." I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry.

On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say, "I love u, too." When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there and watched TV; he seemed distant and absent.

Finally I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to bed. I decided that I could not take it anymore, so I decided to confront him with the situation but he had fallen asleep. I started crying and cried until I too fell asleep. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.

My life is a disaster.
