my favorite kom piang stall is the one in front of acs - the one selling traditional kom piang - only fat and no onions/meat... :) yummy - especially with some kampong koh chilli sauce...

my favorite kam puan mien stall is the ais kacang stall - in front of the thursday market.. ;)

once i bought some kom piang out for my colleagues - no one wanted any - they called it rock biscuit - worse still, the girls felt that having fat in the biscuit is yucky... :) i ate them all...

then they just don't know how to appreciate something good....
lately one of the restaurants that my aunt goes a good bit introduced this kom piang-like kind of bread...
but they don't put filling inside, instead it's sauteed onion on the top....
quite nice too, and it's becoming my substitute kom piang... ;)

same experience here... just few days ago I brought back a few for my colleagues.. and they say the smell and taste is weird. One of them even say that it is like Roti Nan with pork. Anyway, I gasak the rest.. :D

My fav Kom Piang is the Meaty one (Beside Wisma Ganda) and the one same with daBoss's.

Kam Puang at the Ice Kacang stall.

1) Best KomPiang - The one in front of ACS/the one in front of Seong Hee's house.
2) Best Kam Puan - Also in the same shop lot as the Kompian shop. They are seperated by Chicken Rice shop. Try their Kam Puan Lu....excellent stuff.
Also their Mee Jawa is my fav. I know SongCM grew up eating noodles from that shop also!!!

 that depends if everything is O.K. Was there a few months back with Page. The lady was mumbling away and the hubby was no where in sight. Suddenly, he walked in and hell broke loose! The lady started cursing and swearing. It seems that her hubby went out to gamble the nite b4 and only came back then to help out at the shop. And as for the chilli, U're right Amelia, their chilli is the main attraction.

This question...due to visa situation. Long story short, i only have work status in the US. For me to return to go out of US and come back into the US, i need to apply for a US visa. With the timeframe of about 1 month to get the visa, i cannot afford to take that much time off from work to do it. Thats why i have not been back for so long.

Can you assist to list out the fav stalls? Prefer seperate lists, by category.

Then I shall start a poll. Thanks.

its just so satisfying to have tasted this 2 hok chiew food each time i'm back in sitiawan...yummy yummy....(even though i'm not a foo chow)

fav kom piang stall - the one next to wisma ganda
fav kam puan mien - ice kacang stall

WHAT SAY U??!!!

favourite kam puan mien - there's one in kampung cina. if you are coming from the old cinema, there is a coffee shop on the left (nearest to the t-junction) better than the sibu version of it :D
