Sila's wedding

TOday is the big day. Most of the "staff" (near family) are here. Last night it was pretty noisy here. This morning was pretty loud as well, with all the laughing and screaming (that's mostly Irfan). Most of the ladies were tending to the food for lunch today.

So what could go wrong and did today?

My dad got hit on his motorbike from behind by a lady driver. My mom & I got the news by phone while running an errand in Seri Manjung. So we wnet to see him at the ER of Manjung Hospital. He's fine now, and resting in the bedroom, Thank God. He'll have to forgo the Friday prayers. Sila, my wife Ain and I just got back from the District Pejabat Agama Islam, she's got her paperwok done and signed. We're all currently drawing up contigency plans for tonight and tomorrow, so we're still on track for tomorrow.

Lacerations on his cheek, legs and feet. His knee hurts as well. THat's as far as we can see. He lost consciousness upon the accident for 10 minutes. Luckily, a neighbour saw it and told us.

hey lil - redang was grrrreat!! the fishies and the corals were pretty awesome when we went snorkeling. have to pack - leaving for KL tomorrow AM. will be leaving for the US on thursday night after midnight (so technically on june 3rd).

eh, my mum says if you want to come over to the house after you get to s'wan, she will give you a party favor from the wedding, since you couldn't come to it.

met up with some :D had dinner at my aunt's in putrajaya before heading to KLIA. but all in all, it was a wonderful visit lah...

FINALLY!! enter the bride! was called downstairs to listen to the "taklik" to be read.

for those wondering, the day before this my dad and i had already gone to the naib kadi aka Samuel L. Jackson where i formally gave consent for the nikah (duly witnessed by an official witness + the kadi, and my dad) and signed the appropriate paperwork.

after the taklik was read, i went back upstairs. they hung out downstairs for a bit more of doa and handshaking amongst the groom, the wali (my dad), the kadi and the official witnesses before everyone trooped upstairs to the bridal suite where i was waiting.

oso, quick reminder, the ceremony was moved from the masjid in sitiawan to our house because my poor dad got into a motorcycle accident. you can see his face has got lacerations...poor thing.. he is much better now, his face is looking good. still got a bit of problems with lacerations on the leg and feet but much better than in the beginning... thank god for painkillers!!

Arrival of the Groom!! Di apit by best man Hisham (my brother, of course ;) ). now vin's changed into the official green outfit, with green songket samping and tengkolok and he was very happy to wear the keris :D boys will be boys, i suppose. on the right, one of vin's adopted uncles. they had a short walk from puan normah's sister's house about 2 blocks behind still in Taman Pegawai...

Hisham was voted best man due to him being the tallest malaysian around. less chance of vin getting an eye poked out by a short best man wielding that umbrella carelessly... coulda been ugly :p

the bread is in the "first rising". when the timer goes off i do some stuff to it and let it go for the 2nd rising. hopefully it doesn't fall flat!! :D

my mother, your form teacher, is doing well. hanging out at home, all happily retired now. taking care of her garden, going to classes with her friends. and now that the kenduri is over, her blood pressure can go down and she can stop being stressed about preparing for it!! :D
