are the ones that finish form 5 after year 94 speaks a kinda funny English in which i do not understand....like kittykat's kinda language....

Yah you are fine. Its those that spell the words i have to pronounce like 5-6 times and still don't get what the heck are they trying to say. :squeeze:

well, with text messaging, need to "conserve" number of characters...
so ended up with all sorts of retraction to the words...

On topic: I think this type of languge usage is the clipped SMS-style "l33t5p34k" that wasn't prevalent in our years, but the seeds of it existed.. especially if you read the autograph books that belonged to the girls.

I am fine if the words is spelled funny sometimes, but if i have to read 4-5x just to figure it out, that word is probably "rubbish". :p

On topic: I think this type of languge usage is the clipped SMS-style "l33t5p34k" that wasn't prevalent in our years, but the seeds of it existed.. especially if you read the autograph books that belonged to the girls.

Its ok if its cellphone and you may want to save space, but you don't have to do it when you are on a computer rite?

Three forums I go to actually also hantam you if you talk clipped SMS speak. Maybe we should ask daBoss's policy on it.

ok me from 94 era as well.... since onli lil n (and) ath speak up so i do think i should say something... emm i dunno (dont know) all but 4 (for) me, i still prefer short forms. know where is every1's std (standard) lo....
i would say its IT (information Technology) era lo.. ppl (people) would rather use shorter terms than longer ones.... more so we r (are) used 2 (to) it liau. but have to give and take lo.... those like i used are very common shortcuts so all should know what it meant... for those who really use wierd one like; with = vf, we = v, great = gr8, LMAO = laugh my arse out (eh come to think of it all in the thesaurus)......

Those 2 are not remotely close to its real spelling.At least dunno or dem still can understand...the ones i point out above is kinda ridiculous if you ask me.

i think also because of the need "to take down notes very-very fast before the lecturer change transparencies/slides" that caused many to resort to shotr form.. when i copy my friends notes, i can't understand half of it at first reading... for example..
p'cemar'n a.s. mslh yg msh b'terus'n ...... (pencemaran alam sekitar masalah yang berterusan...)
phk2 ttt yg X b't'jwb .... pihak-pihak tertentu yang tidak bertanggungjawab...)
a^ sbb2 ttt yg X dpt d'elak'k ...( atas sebab-sebab tertentu tang tidak dapat dielakkan...)
